What’s a good shampoo and conditioner?

Mine were “out of stock.” So I grabbed some Aussie stuff in the supermarket to tide me over while I looked for mine online (it turned out they’ve been discontinued). It made my head itch. I’m not sure top-of-the line hair care would do anything for me because we have hard well water. Even though I put a water filtration system on my water supply, the water is still hard (at least it doesn’t turn my clothes orange anymore in the washing machine). I don’t have dandruff or other “special needs” hair, as far as I know.

With hard well water, you will probably need a chelating shampoo. As an alternative you can use your regular shampoo and rinse with a couple tablespoons of apple cider vinegar diluted in a glass warm water.

Aveeno

1. You should look at shower heads with filters, they're revolutionary.

2. Surface, Awaken, it has a lot of natural ingredients, also feels clean and light, AND regrows hair.

Suave. Might as well get the cheap stuff since the expensive stuff doesn't do anything.

Herbal Essences. It's sulfate free, cheap, and can be used as a body wash. Comes in a large size with a pump too.

Which Aussie brand OP?

by Anonymousreply 10August 17, 2024 2:08 AM

Prell and Tame Cream Rinse

Aveeno is for name brand recognition wankers.

by Anonymousreply 12August 17, 2024 2:18 AM

Well what is something good you can pick up at CVS?

by Anonymousreply 13August 17, 2024 2:29 AM

I have been told and have read that it doesn't make a damn bit of difference what shampoo you use. Having said that, I use Paul Mitchell products.

by Anonymousreply 14August 17, 2024 2:37 AM

Prell

Wella Balsam

I remember when I was a kid shampoos were so harsh they’d make your eyes water. Breck was a real tearjerker. Amazing that Johnson’s Baby Shampoo had to be used just so you wouldn’t cry

Aveeda Shampure is a satisfying product

When I had hair I actually liked the tea tree shampoo and conditioner from Trader Joe’s. It was pair of separate bottles with a clear shampoo and a conditioner. I think they sell it still but they love to pull things so who knows.
