Of course it. Films now are nothing but sequels and remakes packed with nostalgia.

Sometimes it works like Spider-Man No Way Home and Deadpool and Wolverine… other times it crashes like The Flash and Jurassic Park Dominion.

The New York Times has some funny lines.

the aliens are better company than Rain’s human pals, who are such a dreary collection of sacrificial victims that they seem to have been created just to stoke your blood lust.

Just watched a French cam version and it's a really decent and entertaining Alien movie! There's some chaff at the start with some iffy dialogue, and it takes some time to get used to the super young crew. But once it gets going, holy shit it does not let up until the very last minute of the movie. I actually found myself catching my breath at one point because it is just THAT relentless.

Some really clever and inventive action scenes. The ending is unreal, this would have been too taboo even a decade ago. Loved it when the religious frau got got first, enough with the religious crap in our Alien movies already!

Worst part was the kid with the London accent. Coupled with his whiny voice, it was like nails on a chalkboard.

Forgot to add that we get the most phallic and vaginal imagery yet, which was nice.

Oh, and really cool visuals of planetary rings. The CG android looked like shit, though.

The opening (below Quiet Place or Apes) suggest it could have done better. The movie seems made for people who just wanted to see the old story with updated visual effects.

This was originally meant for Hulu which would explain the small scope.

What Disney should have done was make Alien: Earth for movies instead of TV. That one seems exciting.
