Fuck, she’s now an old woman. She walks like she’s 80 and her arms have gone to hell. How sad.
I thought this too when I saw her in her last concert tour. She moved around and has the posture of an elderly woman.
Well, I mean she IS an elderly woman, at 66 this month. Yikes!

He looks like a tall version of the r&b singer Miguel. They look cool. I’m convince Madge did all that plastic surgery because her face will eventually settle and she will end up looking young in the long run. She does not move like she’s 80 OP. You must don’t know most 80 yr olds.

She looks like Cousin Itt cosplaying Stevie Nicks.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | August 14, 2024 5:11 PM |
I’ve seen plenty of women in their 70s moving around better than her. It’s quite sad. I enjoyed her last tour even though it seemed a bit cheep and she hardly moved, but she has aged 10 years in 3 years. I wonder if she has really bad osteoarthritis. Cher is still skipping around on stage like a kid at almost 80. I think Madonna abused her body. She looked malnourished and underweight for years.

by Anonymous | reply 6 | August 14, 2024 5:13 PM |
Yeah something is off here. She's moving about 10 years older than her actual age, like she's 76 not 66. She must have arthritis or other movement disorders.

Osteoporosis and for a long time she a gristly appearance with no body fat. Really thin people start getting the hunched look when they age.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | August 14, 2024 5:19 PM |
The surprising thing about all of this is how hyper-fit she was; the old "use-it-or-lose-it" thing applies to all of us. If she were an "ordinary" 66-year old it would make some sense. But how do you go from a body dynamo to this? Just... weird.

Death comes for everyone, eventually.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | August 14, 2024 6:04 PM |
R12 I think she saw what the Kardashians were doing with their extreme surgery and otherwise rounded feminine bodies... so she gave up the massive exercise and probably still doesn't eat much. Swap in dabbing, weed and lord knows what else (narcotics) she was doing - that she needed narcan for - that really fit body she had went downhill quick. You can't party at 66 and no body fat if you never did when you were 46 or 56.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | August 14, 2024 6:05 PM |
I believe she injured her hip in 2019 and she’s been downhill ever since.
I’ve seen old people go from spry to trail within a few years if they’ve had an injury.
But she was definitely at great health in her 40’s and 50’s.
But I did notice she started to slow down after the ass implants. It looks like it weighs a ton.

Yeah this is some form of arthritis with a side of osteoporosis. She moves like someone with bad joints. And there is a noticable hump in her upper spine.
Her exercise regime was punishing. None of this is a surprise if she's been also been calcium deprived most of her life which I can see happening with long term, extreme dieting.

Her accomplishments are already accomplished.
She’s an entertainer. She’s a musician. A HIGHLY accomplished & mega successful entertainer & musician.
She’s not a politician held to the highest of standards, or a saint.

You try way too hard. Madonna will always be the #1 selling female singer. Like A Prayer is having a resurgence due to D/W. WBR is starting to recertify her records- they’ve already added 5 million to her sales in the US alone in the past 6 weeks. Once they do her entire catalog, it will add 100 million WW easily, 20 million in the US alone for just albums, maybe more.

She worked her body to the breaking point. Seeing her emaciated with bulging veins and muscles throughout her 50s, throwing her body around the stage like she was 20, was really impressive to watch but I also knew she was sacrificing her body's future. Slow and steady wins the long-term race. Moderation wins, not pushing limits.
She sang this in Evita:
The choice was mine and mine completely
I could have any prize that I desired
I could burn with the splendor of the brightest fire
Or else—or else I could choose time
Remember I was very young then
And a year was forever and a day
So what use could fifty, sixty, seventy be?
I saw the lights and I was on my way
--
Anyway, I appreciate her. She is talented and visionary. Yes, crazy, yes rude sometimes.
by Anonymous | reply 102 | August 16, 2024 9:06 PM |
R102. She didn't write that song, so what does that have to do with anything.
by Anonymous | reply 103 | August 16, 2024 9:15 PM |
R103 I didn't say she wrote it. I said she sang it.
It suggests that she knew what she was doing. She made a choice to take her body to the extreme for as long as she could. She broke her back falling off a horse in her 40s and she kept pushing it. She fell backward off a stage in her 50s and she kept pushing it. Eventually, the body starts breaking down instead of recovering.
She possibly could have been in better physical health today, paradoxically, if she had not been such a fitness fanatic and workaholic when she was younger.

The track debuted at number 15 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart on the week of March 2, 1991. It was the highest debut for a song within the previous 21 years, since the Beatles' "Let It Be" debuted at number six in March 1970. She is pushing 70 years old. She has been AARP-eligible for two full decades. She is an old lady.
It's bizarre to me that people expect celebrities somehow to defy aging.
It really demonstrates how people actually deify famous people in their minds and come to view them as superhuman. People are so vulnerable to the smoke-and-mirrors effect and it freaks me out.
Expecting a pop star who lives to 70 not to become an old woman isn't any less strange than accepting Donald Trump as one's cult leader and demigod. They're equally nutty and nonsensical views.

40 years of touring and performing complicated dance routines. Not to mention the hours of rehearsals and lack of sleep. Michael was the same way, physically pushing himself to unfathomable heights and his body finally gave out at 50. Of course his addictions played a part, but most of his physical pain was from years and years of strenuous and complicated choreography. You dont get to the top by being lazy. Frankly I'm impressed that not only is old Madge still here at age 66 but that she just completed another world tour. She was always a cut above all female artists, but sadly, despite an amazing unmatched career, she wont get her true flowers until after she's gone. They just don't make them like her anymore. I don’t think she looks that bad. She is wearing slip ons, so that’s not helping her posture and movement. The ground doesn’t look that uneven, but she seems to be looking down at it and that may be increasing the impression of a hump. Really can’t tell from that angle.
She is holding on to that guy but doesn’t appear to need him for balance or support.
The hair is awful. If she absolutely has to keep the blonde, she should at least go with a style similar to her Material Girl cut. The fullness around the neck and shoulders would camouflage bad posture and any hump a little.
by Anonymous | reply 124 | August 17, 2024 1:51 PM |
She had a major spinal injury, a major hip injury, she was yanked by the neck and dragged down stairs in her 60s (!!!) and a couple of years ago she almost died from an infection.
She recently said:
"I have never let an injury stop me from performing but this time i have to accept that there is no shame in being human and having to press the pause button,” Madonna wrote. “I thank you all for your understanding, love and support."
"I spent the last two days with doctors Scans, ultra sounds, Xrays Poking and probing and more tears," she added in her Instagram caption. "They have made it very clear to me that if l am to continue my tour — I must rest for as long as possible so that I don’t inflict further and Irreversible damage to my body."

Why is it surprising to anyone that a woman of her age doesn't look like a 25-year-old pop star or professional athlete?
She's an older Italian lady.
Facelifts don't stop skeletal and muscular aging. Look at her sisters. They have similar squat builds.

Sophia Loren is an older Italian lady. Madonna is a 60-something year old white woman from Michigan with French/Italian roots.

R121 Janbot, who is OP, can’t stand when someone praises Madonna. It started this thread to watch the dragging. It starts 100s of thread on Madonna to watch the dragging. Some claim to be janbot jabba but trolldar reveals who. It is.

What do you feel when you stalk old people and make fun of how they look? What is it about that that satisfies people and makes them feel good? I don't understand the impulse.

Yes, this woman deserves your hate.
“In the 80s, rumors spread that she had HIV after visiting AIDS wards. She smuggled experimental drugs, paid hospital bills, and hugged patients when even their families wouldn't even speak to them. The patients and hospital personel nicknamed her "Dorothy" in the AIDS wards.
Happy birthday to one of the most charitable artists in music ❤️”

Also that time she did a Make A Wish for a young fan. It was just to meet Madonna, yet Madonna called her every day until the girl died, would talk with her for hours. This was aired on Oprah.

Every time I scroll past this thread title on DL, I remember to sit up straight, shoulders down, no hunching. It's an effective poor posture-shaming title!
