This seems like a twisting of history. Her mom was a model. It's hard for fat kids - it truly is. And it's not something you want your body to be accustomed to.

Her dad paid for child support - it doesn't sound like something someone would insist on, when they are pretty expensive.

But I've seen how crazy rails Rob Schneider has gone off on the past 10+ years - so he probably was always an asshole.

I feel sorry for female children of models. Their parents are unicorns - freaks of nature - and the daughters never look as good. But it's obvious they have to compare themselves.

It's sad to live in a house where you're never going to be as attractive as the parent. They make it sound like it doesn't matter - but you know it's there and you're compared against their beauty and go - what happened?

I’m in favor of fat camp. Ideally, your kids don’t get fat. You recognize that there is normal variation in appetite and fat distribution and you make sure your kids stay within healthy bounds by encouraging good habits and movement. But once you’ve failed at that, what’s wrong with fat camp? It’s better than letting the kid spiral into obesity or having the parent act as the food police.

I had a friend in HS who was a decent athlete, but quite overweight. She went to fat camp in between HS and college and lost a ton of weight. I visited her during her first semester and she looked great, but her suite mates had binge-y eating habits and the environment wasn’t good for her. Not sure if I should have said anything. I didn’t. She gained it all back and then some. She was/is a lovely person but her weight limited her.
