Why didn’t Ann Miller appear in any of Lucille Ball’s tv shows?

Lucy discovered her. Ann introduced her to Desi Arnaz. They were friends their entire lives. Ann went into television after the 1950s. Why didn’t she ever team up with Lucy?

Gary talked her out of it

Lucie Arnaz took over all the Ann Miller roles in 'Here's Lucy'. Lucie wanted to be the next Ann Miller, and dammit - Mother Lucy was going to help her make it happen !

This is a question only Datalounge can ask and answer.

Lucy realized Ann’s hairspray needs would take up 95% of the budget.

by Anonymousreply 4August 8, 2024 8:31 PM

“The man's face has more powder on it than Ann Miller's and she's giving him to me.”

by Anonymousreply 5August 8, 2024 8:35 PM

Because Ann took a dump in Lucy's dressing room toilet on the set of Stage Door and didn't flush.

She wasn't on the Lucy Show because that was during the time that Ann became a hoarder and was way too busy working at the Piggly Wiggly.

by Anonymousreply 7August 8, 2024 9:00 PM

Because Lucy couldn't stand the reek of L.B. Mayer's jizz emanating from Annie's vage.

by Anonymousreply 8August 8, 2024 9:07 PM

Ann swears she didn’t do nuthin with mister Mayer.

[quote] became a hoarder and was way too busy working at the Piggly Wiggly

Is that a crime, Judy?

by Anonymousreply 10August 8, 2024 9:32 PM

Lucy desperately wanted Ann's part in "Sugar Babies" but Gary said no.

by Anonymousreply 11August 8, 2024 9:34 PM

Ann got the last word by outliving her and getting a substantial role on "Mulholland Drive". Take that, Lucille McGillicuddy!

by Anonymousreply 12August 8, 2024 9:51 PM

I couldn't stop dancin'!

by Anonymousreply 13August 8, 2024 9:57 PM

"Take that, Lucille McGillacunty !"

fixed for R12

by Anonymousreply 14August 8, 2024 10:33 PM

Who claims Ball discovered her?

by Anonymousreply 15August 8, 2024 10:36 PM

Ann Miller's passport said: "Movie Star."

After working with Lucy, Joan Crawford said “and they call ME a bitch”! Joan Blondell walked out after Lucy humiliated her in front of a studio audience. There’s no excuse for cruelty, deliberately or otherwise. That bitch finally got a taste of her own medicine when “Life with Lucy” failed miserably.

I never heard that. What was the situation?

by Anonymousreply 18August 8, 2024 11:28 PM

Lucy came up from behind Blondell on stage and pulled down her skirt in front of everyone. We then realized Blondell had red striped panties on.
