Hamas daddy Ismail Haniyeh assassinated in Tehran — one day after Israeli jets eliminated Hezbollah’s commander Fuad Shukr

Iran just got a new leader.

So far, Israel military is only saying they won't respond to reports in the foreign media.

These TERRORISTS do not even care about their own families. THIS IS WHO/WHAT WE ARE DEALING WITH. Time to bring out the roach spray.

Benny Netanyahu was just in D.C. comparing queers to KFC.

Did Biden/Harris approve this escalation?

One of Haniyeh's stud bodyguards got wiped out, too.

Haniyeh's bodyguards appeared to be on high-alert, too.

The last thing I'm going to be is sympathetic to a Hamas leader. I believe in a 2-state solution. I believe Palestinians deserve to live in peace and dignity and that this terrible disproportionate war must end. But, at this stage, Hamas has made life worse for Palestinians. I think that's pretty undeniable.

ALL THAT SAID, "Hamas Daddy", as the OP dubbed him, was leading the ceasefire negotiations. Clearly, the Israelis were leading Biden on (yet again) and have ZERO intention of pursuing a ceasefire and ending this bloodshed.

by Anonymousreply 6July 31, 2024 7:52 AM

R6 really, didn't know that. True, things are never as presented my MSM.

Security for Hamas at the Iranian inauguration would have been air tight. Dollars to donuts the Iranians took him out themselves.

by Anonymousreply 13July 31, 2024 12:13 PM

I was thinking the same thing, ElderLez. Iran doesn't want a cease fire.

by Anonymousreply 14July 31, 2024 3:20 PM

Good, I hope the Mossad gets all the Hamas leaders.

R14 Maybe the Iranian mullahs can all die in a grease fire too, that would be good, most of all for the long suffering Iranian people

And, also, for R18...

...Look. I get why it's emotionally satisfying to see a sr. Hamas leader taken out. But, the Israelis are behaving like upset toddlers. Cooler heads have to prevail. Netanyahu doesn't WANT a ceasefire, because a last peace will almost certainly mean his ouster from Israeli politics and his potential prosecution for his rampant corruption. So, what are tens of thousands of dead and displaced Palestinian children to him? No big deal.

R21 it really doesnt matter though, even if a ceasefire was negotiated Hamas have never stuck to previous ceasefire agreements, why would they this time?

October 7 was a breach of the last and likely more favourable ceasefire agreement with them

by Anonymousreply 22August 1, 2024 2:18 AM

R22 - oh, so, should we wait until EVERY child in Gaza has been killed, maimed or orphaned? Or... what's the right percentage of them to have been brutalized? By some estimates, including the prestigious Lancet medical journal, as many as 186,000 may be the truth death toll. Just give me a number since Arab children are, apparently, expendable.

He was comparing “gays for gaza” to chickens for KFC. If would be like Jews for Nazis or Blacks for the KKK.

Maybe Bibi was down in Florida telling Turnip that Russia had told Iran to kill Haniyeh to worsen the conflict and help both of their political chances.

Bibi-Trump-Putin-the Ayatollahs powerful murderous assholes all. Hamas leaders- expendable murderous assholes

That is ENTIRELY up to Hamas. Ask them. They're the ones using Arab children as human shields. They certainly seem to think they're perfectly expendable.

As Golda Meir said,

[quote]Peace will come when the Arabs start to love their children more than they hate us. We can forgive [them] for killing our children. We cannot forgive them from forcing us to kill their children. We will only have peace with [them] when they love their children more than they hate us.

Just as applicable today as when she said it

by Anonymousreply 27August 1, 2024 11:55 AM

It's sweet that you care about them, r23. Unfortunately, Hamas leadership will sacrifice every last child in Gaza. Haniyeh died a billionaire. I don't know if riches motivate the other Hamas leaders. Perhaps it's a combination of being seen as a fierce leader and getting rich. At any rate, none of this was necessary. On October 6 a cease fire was in effect. Hamas ended it.

R28 its religion with a hearty side serving of corruption. The Hamas Constitution lays it all out very clearly for us. When people tell us who they are, its wise to believe them

Everything else in your post is absolutely spot on and accurate, thank you for being smart

Isn't it fair to say that the numbers of Palestinians killed coming out of Gaza are a combo of Hamas .militants, civilians aiding Hamas (in which case calling them innocent is a stretch to put it nicely), and genuinely innocent civilians?

by Anonymousreply 30August 1, 2024 2:56 PM

US should let them fight it out-same old story-different players.

2 journalists reported killed in strike in Gaza

JERUSALEM — Al-Jazeera said two of its reporters were killed in an Israeli strike in northern Gaza on Wednesday, the latest Palestinian journalists working with the Qatari network to be killed in the enclave.

Correspondent Ismail al-Ghoul, cameraman Rami al-Rifi and a child were killed in Gaza City in a blast that struck a car the trio were traveling in, according to the network and the Emergency and Ambulance Service.

The two journalists were reporting at the Shati urban refugee camp, the birthplace of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh.

I'm with R7.

Thank you R6 for sharing with us this information that the mainstream media DOES NOT.

It's disgusting that they hide these things from us.

And for what reason?

I think we all know.

Just follow the money.

by Anonymousreply 34August 2, 2024 4:48 AM

R34-

R6 here. While I generally agree that there are obvious biases in much of the mainstream media's coverage of the Israel-Hamas war that favor Israeli propaganda, in this case, I have seen this part of the story (that Haniyeh's assassination threatens the ceasefire negotiations) covered pretty widely and not just in Al Jazeera and Zeteo News. I've seen it discussed on CNN, MSNBC (even Fox) and in all the big digital boys (NY Times, Washington Post, Wall St Journal etc.)

Again, I'm not denying these obvious biases. I mean, there are days when literally dozens of Palestinians are slaughtered and it doesn't even warrant 30 seconds on CNN or MSNBC, but if an Israeli gets a light scratch, it's immediate breaking news.

by Anonymousreply 35August 2, 2024 5:45 AM

The money R34? Which money R34? Gulf States? Saudi? Kuwaiti? There sure is a lot of money in the Middle East.

by Anonymousreply 36August 2, 2024 9:42 AM

Didn’t Netanyahu disgrace his trip by going to Mar-a-Lago?

by Anonymousreply 37August 2, 2024 11:00 AM

I'm not R34, so I won't speak for him/her, but perhaps they were referring to AIPAC's enormous (some would say outsized) influence in American politics and media.

R36 / Elderlez is also not wrong that the threat of attacks on the wealth of Arab gulf states has also made THEM poor allies to the Palestinian people.

Either way, whether neglect from fellow Arab states, American-funded assault from Israel or important (but, ultimately, empty) warnings against genocide from the international community, the Palestinians are alone and abandoned and it is utterly heartbreaking.
