Kim seems the obvious choice for troublemaker who thinks she's too good for the show that brought her fame in the first place. She came off really poorly during her one season on Real Housewives of Atlanta.

I was thinking about this the other day while watching a rerun how “Edna’s Edibles” could be an entirely different shop today. It’d be hard to imagine, though, how they’d navigate bringing the 4 of them back together again after them having (supposedly) gone their separate ways as adults. You could, I guess, make it a Golden Girls situation, but that’d be a bit obvious.

I actually think it’s Lisa Welchel. She’s the only one Mindy stopped following.

Mindy said in the video that clues were on her insta, but were not related to who she did and did not follow. I think R8 got it.

R1, It’d be funny if they got one of the fired Real Housewives of Atlanta to play Tootie. Kim Fields swanning around in the softer side of Sears and acting like she was Hollywood royalty and the pinnacle of spiritually evolved womanhood drove them all crazy!

I doubt it's Lisa. She seems more interested in her family than going back to doing a sitcom. Plus she doesn't strike me as the backstabbing type.

When I first read the article, my first choice was Lisa. She was a contestant on SURVIVOR just a few years ago and I think maybe one or two of the other contestants recognized her.

Kim Fields is the lead on The Upshaws which got renewed for season four the day after season 3 dropped. She works nonstop. It’s that bible thumper Lisa. Maybe Kim’s agent or manager said she would do it if there was a guaranteed spinoff, otherwise, why leave a sure thing? They can always revisit a reunion for FoL when the Upshaws wraps for good.

RE: Nancy/possible divorce

FWIW, Nancy posted a photo with her husband Marc in NYC, just 11 weeks ago. They'd gone to see Loren Lester (who played hilariously annoying Roy on FOL) in a production of Cabaret.

Can we all pause and discuss how a FOL would kinda be awful. Why would they all be in each other's lives again? Even if they were going to do a next generation thing (which they did in the reunion to some degree) they are all far too old to have children in high school.

I guess it's confirmed that it was Lisa. The Live Tribute to FOL was in December 2021. The Normal Lear tribute was in September 2022, and Mindy posted a photo of herself with Kim and Nancy, and it is the only photo where she has turned comments off.

Mindy likely doesn’t need the money because she came from a wealthy family to begin with. She was a student at Harvard-Westlake before she got cast. I think she’s done a lot of voice work too.

Going on Survivor doesn’t seem as desperate to me as RHOA, or Dancing with the Stars. Survivor is one of those shows that has a very loyal, long term fan base and a lot of people would go on just because they love the show so much. It really helped Lisa’s image, at least in my eyes, is written her off as a backwards fundie but she came as across as very likable and was a popular player.

Kim may have worked constantly since TFOL but if she’s as bad as she was in the Florida-set British sitcom “Living The Dream” then she’s getting gigs based solely on nostalgia and name recognition because she was absolutely terrible on that show.

Nancy has always seemed like she didn’t need or want much in the way of fortune or fame and I am under the impression she inherited all of her brother’s estate when he died a few years ago.

He was a successful child actor, did some directing, and hosted a morning radio show, so he made pretty good money, one assumes. He never married or had kids so what he did make he didn’t spend on big houses, divorce settlements, or college funds.

Nancy worked way more than her brother did so I doubt she needed an inheritance from him, plus she’s married. Kim is currently on her third long-running sitcom, has made many appearances on other shows and she also directs. Why she agreed to be on the ratchet RHOA is a mystery to me. I think her not being at the Kelly Clarkson reunion was because she was likely filming her new show The Upshaws.

I don't recall Fields or McKean's "backdoor" pilot, though at the time the show ended for whatever reason McKeon seemed like she would have the best career. She was the first choice for Monica on Friends, right? The dynamic between her and Perry would have been amazing but bizarre (who's the butch who's the fem in that relationship?) Lisa looked great in the last season, but it seemed like it was too little too late.

I thought Nancy's show with Jean Smart was great.

It would be a good opportunity for her especially if their original vision wasn’t going to go anywhere. I seriously doubt Lisa initiated a move to steal the show from the other 4 and suspect it was just a progression in their pitch and what direction the powers decided they wanted. Many reboots retain some of an original cast but the focus is often on a new group of young actors.

If they were going to reboot as R382 suggested, why would Lisa be the natural choice over any of the others. I think any of the characters would be interchangeable in that role.

I did think the same thing though. I wondered how much of it was actually Lisa going behind their backs vs being pitched something and considering it.
