It would be nice if American "journalists" like Kristin Welker did interviews like this. But she'd be afraid of pissing off GQP politicians and losing access.

Was Keri on something? Her eyes looked very weird in the video. Did anyone else notice that her eyes were shifting and she wasn't always looking directly at the person interviewing her? She's a strange woman.

I didn't think she unraveled much, actually. She's scary in that way... the woman can stare right at you with her huge brown crazy eyes and declare in the clearest voice that water is dry, that fire is wet, and that there's a media conspiracy trying to prevent you from these facts.

But she was forced to declare her belief in lies (or if she doesn't believe them, then forced to demonstrate again her willingness to peddle them knowingly).

It is a welcome relief that Gallego is on track to defeat her. But it's disturbing that this is where we are today in America, where someone like Kari Lake can win the GOP nomination and come within a hair's breadth of winning the Arizona governorship. If she had won Governor, Arizona would be putty in Trump's hands right now for 2024 and she would have normalized all kinds of hateful rhetoric and policy changes directly from the Governor's place of power.

I hope she gets sued for every penny she has, her husband divorces her and her kids are estranged.

I know of a few people like that, R24. They went off the deep end during COVID and have never reverted back to who they were "before". They are now crazy, cling to every conspiracy theory that comes along, and become enraged at the smallest thing.

I suggested medication to one of them (I work with her), because I thought it might help her calm down and take the edge off, and she accused me of being a government operative for the CIA. She asked me why I would want to "track her" with pills, what "had she ever done" to me?

She may have little choice. Should she lose to Gallego she'd probably run for the Governor's office again, given how close she came last time. This style of interviewing is normal in the UK. Try listening to Radio 4’s Today programme. Many politicians have died a death trying not to answer a direct question.

It's such a good interview. Maitlis is very experienced. She lets Kari talk and talk so she digs herself further and further in. She treats any question Lake asks as rhetorical and lets her rant.

Then, when Lake is backed into a corner, she reaches for "well, you're British so you don't get what's going on across the pond" which is a spectacularly weak argument and shows she's dying on her arse.

I think it's funny how Kari thinks people don't like Trump because of a media smear campaign, when most people who dislike Trump have made that decision based on listening to the idiot speaking. Does she think the media play AI videos of him speaking?
