The final night of the RNC, where Trump gave a speech, brought in 28.4 million viewers!!!
Donald Trump brings in the RATINGS with RNC Convention

He’s a scintillating speaker, it’s undeniable!
by Anonymous | reply 1 | July 19, 2024 9:45 PM |
How many do ya think were awake at the end?
by Anonymous | reply 2 | July 19, 2024 9:46 PM |
And he blew it.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | July 19, 2024 9:50 PM |
Nobody has ever seen anything like it!
by Anonymous | reply 4 | July 19, 2024 10:03 PM |
Good. Hopefully they all saw how insane he is.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | July 19, 2024 10:10 PM |
I didn’t think it was possible, but I despise his family now more than I despise Trump himself.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | July 19, 2024 10:16 PM |
That would be his base, OP. Why is that such a shock? We know he has at least that many followers. I'm sure many were impressed with his delusional ranting and wore ear pads in solidarity with him and his wounded ear.
The question is how many stayed to the end and how many had their TVs on in the background while they were on their computers playing games?
by Anonymous | reply 7 | July 19, 2024 10:21 PM |
R7 his base? A lot more than 28 million people voted for him.
And a lot of Dems watch too, especially those involved in Politics or journalism
by Anonymous | reply 8 | July 19, 2024 10:23 PM |
But not me!!
by Anonymous | reply 9 | July 19, 2024 10:31 PM |
What’s crazy is that parts of the convention were surprisingly well done. They hauled out a diverse group of supporters and strong speakers to counterbalance the crazier elements, who also got their time on the stage.
But then the actual candidate showed up for the capper to remind everyone what a fucking unbalanced, mendacious nutcase blowhard he is.
I don’t think his appearance will really sway anyone, though. If they managed to sit through the endless mess (I gave up early), they will not have really seen anything new, so if they liked him already or they hated him already, he just cemented those existing impressions.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | July 19, 2024 10:33 PM |
R8, I'm sure they did. A lot of people wanted to see the train wreck and they weren't disappointed. I know he has more followers than that, so where were they last night if a lot of Dems watched too?
by Anonymous | reply 11 | July 19, 2024 10:37 PM |
I did watch last night although I normally never watch Trump. I was not disappointed. What a shit show! Kid Rock, really? I switched Trump off after 10 min. He clearly did not mean any of the Unity BS, just rattled it off the Teleprompter. I hear he got animated when the real Trump came through.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | July 19, 2024 10:48 PM |
The NY Times gang gave him credit for doing well initially ... until he turned into his usual self.
His immigrant-bashing hasn't been well received among naturalized citizens I understand.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | July 19, 2024 10:48 PM |
They may not put a finger on it exactly, but I get the feeling many non-MAGA voters will find something "off" about Vance?
by Anonymous | reply 14 | July 19, 2024 10:50 PM |
Only 45,000 votes among 6 states determined the POTUS in 2020 . This is scary shit indeed.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | July 19, 2024 11:03 PM |
Actually the 4 day average was lower than last time.
This is just Dumps PR team like usual saying all over the internet they are biggest, best ever, whatever.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | July 19, 2024 11:35 PM |
Riveting. Maxipad on the ears, diapers on the rear and nodding off in public.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | July 19, 2024 11:42 PM |
Wow. Down slightly. Big deal. It still pulled in ratings
by Anonymous | reply 18 | July 19, 2024 11:43 PM |
28 million to witness the crazy.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | July 19, 2024 11:46 PM |
They're laughing at you, and your Maxipad ear!
by Anonymous | reply 20 | July 19, 2024 11:49 PM |
They didn’t bring in Kid Rock and Hulk Hogan for nothing, brother.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | July 19, 2024 11:53 PM |
I watched the whole speech, and I hope that everyone else who watched saw the same thing as me: a psycho with no positive message to bring to the presidency.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | July 20, 2024 12:00 AM |
Village idiots tend to be entertaining.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | July 20, 2024 12:01 AM |
He was not even entertaining!
by Anonymous | reply 24 | July 20, 2024 12:04 AM |
That is less than 10% of the US population, it was streaming, on all the major networks and some minor networks, way more of the country didn't watch than did.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | July 20, 2024 12:28 AM |
Did he really praise Viktor Orban, Kim Jong Un, and Hannibal Lecter?
by Anonymous | reply 26 | July 20, 2024 12:29 AM |
R17, he’s praying, or at least offering a facsimile of prayer. That’s been all over X, but the wide angle shows everyone around him with eyes closed during a prayer. Mark Hamill is getting roasted for making that same false statement. There’s no end of critique of Trump; people don’t need to make shit up.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | July 20, 2024 12:44 AM |
R25 lmao what a stupid fucking comment.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | July 20, 2024 12:45 AM |
Down slightly from the last 4 years is a big fucking deal if you're trying to get more votes than 4 years ago
by Anonymous | reply 29 | July 20, 2024 1:11 AM |
R29, Especially after he was almost assassinated a few days before. I would have expected a lot more people to tune in for that reason alone.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | July 20, 2024 2:56 AM |
People just wanted to see the ear. Like a car accident everyone slows down to see the carnage.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | July 20, 2024 3:47 AM |
Nielsen rating was only 20M, btw. So the initial rating was exaggerated, as usually.
There’s a win out there fir the Democrats but not if you’re paying attention to corporate media.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | July 21, 2024 9:20 AM |
Conservative gives take on convention....... a surprise.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | July 21, 2024 12:41 PM |
A paywalled article from Cleveland?
by Anonymous | reply 34 | July 21, 2024 2:29 PM |
The general consensus seemed to be that he veered from prepared, rational remarks early on to a more Trump-like rant we've heard 1000 times before.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | July 21, 2024 3:51 PM |
Didn't watch but I don't watch the DNC either.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | July 21, 2024 4:29 PM |

r10, Not even Sean Spicer would vomit that crap.
It was a tired parade of exhausted appeals for people top submit to slavery.
It did not go well, except for the Kotex Ears people.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | July 21, 2024 5:03 PM |
R38: No, parts of the RNC were successful. There were strategies that paid off. Competent and even moving speakers mixed in with the nuts.
I think part of the problem right now is a refusal to concede any success on the other side, which blinds people, like you, to what needs to be done to address why something might appeal to the other side. Instead, it’s just more histrionics and hyperbole (“submit to slavery”) and name-calling (“Kotex Ears people”) , making people feel alienated and sending them further in the other direction.
The fact that a candidate as terrible as Trump is the frontrunner suggests that Democrats need to reconsider their messaging. (Listen to James Carville.) But they don’t. They won’t. And I think that, plus the deception and intransigence surrounding Biden’s mental decline, will probably cost us the election.
I say “us” because I dread another Trump presidency and would never vote for him. Yet just stating anything off-script brings a deluge of MAGA accusations and insults.
I grew up in a dying factory town in the Midwest. I get how the messaging works to turn blue-collar communities red.
The GOP clearly has a strategy of broadening its base. I see the opposite with Democrats.

Yes,their bottom line is re-start slavery-so obvious. Enjoy it Tim Scott (‘’uncle’’)
by Anonymous | reply 41 | July 21, 2024 7:05 PM |
I'm voting anyone but Trump the traitor.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | July 21, 2024 8:28 PM |
But it is not just Trump. Trump is the figurehead of the entire rotten Republican Party and is owned by the Christian Capitalists who empowered him.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | July 21, 2024 10:41 PM |
There are quite a few Jews who support Trump as well. Looking at you Judge Judy.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | July 21, 2024 11:50 PM |
r44, that is racist divisiveness. I see no Jews on the list of the Federalist Society, or any Jews who TIP members of the Supreme Court.
It is the reason for all the Soros hate.
It is the reason that there were fine people on both sides of Charlottesville.
Stop with the anti-Jewish racism.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | July 22, 2024 1:42 PM |
In 2016, he had 32 million viewers.
In 2008, John McCain accepted before 39 million viewers.
I’m not impressed.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | July 22, 2024 3:26 PM |
R45 they were chanting anti-Jewish hate! Fine people on both sides???
by Anonymous | reply 47 | July 22, 2024 3:43 PM |
Will they take skin from his ass to rebuild the missing part of his ear? Rear to ear so to speak.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | July 22, 2024 4:04 PM |
I thought MAGA world loves the Orthodox Kushners?
