Nikki Haley's RNC Speech Thoughts

Haley was not going to attend the RNC, but the Trump campaign called her Sunday after the assassination attempt.

I think the campaign dangled State or Defense otherwise she wouldn't have spoken. Vance brings nothing to the ticket, the white Rust Belt was already voting for Trump. Youngkin would have been the better choice for a running mate; he appeals to moderates, women, and educated suburbia. I think it boils down to whether or not the campaign thinks they need Haley's voters to win. Trump only won around 50% of primary voters, which is not good for an incumbent.

On the other hand, with the selection of Vance, MAGA is here to stay on the long haul and they don't need her or her voters. She had to give in to have a future in politics. She's young, ambitious, and most likely will run for an elected office in South Carolina.

Thoughts?

She already served in his cabinet and knows how terrible/stupid of a person he is. She was part of the 2018 mass exodus that included Kelly, Mattis, Tillerson, Sessions, McGahn, Cohn, McMaster, Nielson, Dunford, and many more.

by Anonymousreply 1July 17, 2024 1:47 PM

In addition to being a hypocrite of the highest order, her political judgment stinks:

Trump could care less about her voters; He just wants everyone who opposed him to bend the knee

by Anonymousreply 3July 17, 2024 1:54 PM

Last night's speech didn't matter.

No one has told her yet, but she ended her political career a few weeks ago by handing over her Primary delegates to Trump against the votes of virtually every person who had supported her

by Anonymousreply 4July 17, 2024 1:56 PM

R3 Yeah, but I think she loses more support/integrity by bending the knee than standing up for herself.

by Anonymousreply 5July 17, 2024 1:56 PM

I was off by a few weeks. I declared she would be kissing his ring by July4th. Nikki has her eye on 2028.

by Anonymousreply 6July 17, 2024 1:57 PM

Trump promised her Secretary of State.

by Anonymousreply 7July 17, 2024 1:58 PM

He may in fact have promised it to her, but he's not giving it to her.

by Anonymousreply 8July 17, 2024 2:00 PM

R4 She won DC, Vermont, and maybe another state. In the general, those will all go to Biden. I don't think a Republican has carried New England since George H.W. Bush.

I am not too familiar with how the primary delegates work, but don't most primary opponents give the nominee their primary delegates?

by Anonymousreply 9July 17, 2024 2:00 PM

This is all conventional political talk, with Trump nothing matters. If he did offer her State, she better have gotten an affidavit signed by him.

by Anonymousreply 10July 17, 2024 2:01 PM

R7 how do you know?

by Anonymousreply 11July 17, 2024 2:06 PM

I think he invited her to soften the blow back about JD's wife. If people were willing to vote for her, maybe they'll see JD's wife as being on par and 'not bad.' "See? Brown people, like Nikki, aren't the bad 'brown people."

by Anonymousreply 12July 17, 2024 2:07 PM

R12 What about Vivek and Ben Carson?

by Anonymousreply 13July 17, 2024 2:26 PM

She’s a thoroughgoing cunt.

by Anonymousreply 14July 17, 2024 2:32 PM

R13, What about Omarosa?

by Anonymousreply 15July 17, 2024 2:32 PM

This is a great article about her

Haley is completely devoid of any kind of kind of moral core or convictions. She would sell her kids and both kidneys if she thought it would get her higher on the ladder. In some ways, she's actually more loathsome than Trump.

by Anonymousreply 17July 17, 2024 2:43 PM

She's a whore, darlin

by Anonymousreply 18July 17, 2024 2:50 PM

Trump hates her! He scowled through the whole thing but had some smiles right after for DeSantis' dumb lines.

by Anonymousreply 19July 17, 2024 2:51 PM

R12, neither Ben Carson nor Vivek are married to Trump's VP.

by Anonymousreply 20July 17, 2024 3:12 PM

She gives speeches in an annoying sing-song, and the tone is always condescending.

by Anonymousreply 21July 17, 2024 3:15 PM

She is a Republican, all Republicans are evil, why is anyone surprised.

by Anonymousreply 22July 17, 2024 3:23 PM

She's a loser. Not stupid, but really bad choices and no moral compass.

by Anonymousreply 23July 17, 2024 3:26 PM

So, do you think she'll be our next Secretary of State?

by Anonymousreply 24July 17, 2024 3:48 PM

Trump promised me that I'd be the next Secretary of State too, sweetie

Now can someone help me, my foot's caught in this folding chair

by Anonymousreply 25July 17, 2024 5:56 PM

Nikki Haley is a whore.

So is JD Vance.

So is the entire Repig party.

by Anonymousreply 26July 17, 2024 6:08 PM

[quote] Trump could care less about her voters

Oh, dear.

by Anonymousreply 27July 17, 2024 6:24 PM

She didn’t want to be a woman without a party as she would have been if she continued to separate herself. She had to support Trump and speak at the convention. Even so, she will be suspect for a long time.

by Anonymousreply 28July 17, 2024 6:38 PM

Inviting these losers to speak at the convention and eat their words is how trump humiliates them.

by Anonymousreply 29July 17, 2024 6:46 PM

Exactly @R22

by Anonymousreply 30July 17, 2024 6:52 PM

[Quote], maybe they'll see JD's wife as being on par and 'not bad.'

Unlike Nikki Hailey, Mrs. Vance remains a pagan idol-worshiper (as I understand things).

[quote]Vance brings nothing to the ticket,

Wrong.

He brings: Youth (as it relates to politics, two years younger than Buttigieg) Military experience A poverty upbringing A mixed marriage And being the Senator from Ohio he can criticize the Biden administration about the disaster in East Palestine, Ohio which Biden ignored for months.

by Anonymousreply 32July 17, 2024 7:01 PM

For R32.

Looks like R32 is Kevin Roberts, president of the Heritage Foundation, the conservative think tank leading Project 2025, who is thrilled with the new nominee for vice president.

by Anonymousreply 34July 17, 2024 7:10 PM

[quote]For [R32].

Biden and “our” Pete could have reinstated them.

Nevertheless, the President usually goes to areas where disasters occurred (just for a photo op). Biden ignored those people for months and Buttigieg was laying out on paternity leave.

by Anonymousreply 35July 17, 2024 7:12 PM

[quote]Looks like [R32] is Kevin Roberts, president of the Heritage Foundation

Stick your head in the sand, boomer. When feeble Joe loses the race, and then Vance is POTUS for eight years after, you won’t know what hit you.

by Anonymousreply 36July 17, 2024 7:15 PM

She's just like Ted Cruz, who bowed (deeply) to Trump, even after Trump called Cruz's wife ugly and said Cruz's father helped in the assassination of JFK.

I'd be embarrassed if I was his spouse or family. But, politics is all that matters...

No.

by Anonymousreply 39July 17, 2024 7:32 PM

[quote] Youth (as it relates to politics, two years younger than Buttigieg)

So does Kamala. Nobody cares.

[quote] Military experience

Nobody gives a fuck these days, and everybody knows Trump despises military service

[quote] A poverty upbringing

Only people that care and admire that are Democrats.

[quote] A mixed marriage

That will actually be a problem for him, in his party of bigots. Not just the skin color, of course. The god warriors will hate that she's not Christian.

[quote] And being the Senator from Ohio he can criticize the Biden administration about the disaster in East Palestine, Ohio which Biden ignored for months.

fine, he can blather on about how the party of "never do shit about shit" would have prevented this disaster, but nobody in their right minds will believe it.

by Anonymousreply 40July 17, 2024 7:44 PM

sorry, I really should've included the original quote/response.

Vance brings nothing to the ticket,

Wrong ...

by Anonymousreply 41July 17, 2024 7:46 PM

Definition of hypocrisy.

by Anonymousreply 42July 17, 2024 8:07 PM

Fuck this sycophant bitch!

by Anonymousreply 43July 17, 2024 8:28 PM

Thanks for saying that R22. Some Rep.family members voted trump 2016-they paved the way for this Dictator. Now they can’t get rid of him-too late .Reap what you so.

by Anonymousreply 44July 17, 2024 9:32 PM

Trump wants her voters-Not her.

by Anonymousreply 45July 17, 2024 9:33 PM

[quote]She had to give in to have a future in politics.

Her future in politics ended when she decided to kiss Trump's fat ass.

by Anonymousreply 46July 17, 2024 9:37 PM

[quote]Trump wants her voters-Not her.

All four of them!

by Anonymousreply 47July 17, 2024 9:39 PM

Very special place in hell for her and all the others, including Vance, who know exactly what they’re putting back in office.

Unlike the Mormons who make up the MAGA cult, these people are highly educated and know damn well the threat this monster poses. Yet, the promise of a little bit of power makes them stomp on their morale compass and sell the entire world down the river.

I stupidly thought she’d do the right thing and refuse to endorse him. I was wrong, again.

by Anonymousreply 48July 17, 2024 9:43 PM

^ morons…not Mormons.

by Anonymousreply 49July 17, 2024 9:44 PM

She has had work done to the face.

by Anonymousreply 50July 17, 2024 9:59 PM

Looks like [R32] is Kevin Roberts, president of the Heritage Foundation, the conservative think tank leading Project 2025, who is thrilled with the new nominee for vice president.

Whatever you might of Vance, R32 objectively stated his supposed "assets" (such as they are) from a Repub perspective.

Apologies:

Haley is nothing but a yellow bellied sell-out. Nothing more to say.

by Anonymousreply 57July 18, 2024 6:03 AM

I wonder what she thinks of the godawful adaptation of her husband's book that was released on Netflix a few years ago. Datalounge had quite an entertaining thread on it:

[quote]She had to give in to have a future in politics.

Anyone who can see where this is going and WANTS a future in Republican politics is a terrible person, regardless of the hypocrisy.

Let's see how promising her career is after a few MAGA star-chambers.

by Anonymousreply 59July 18, 2024 2:51 PM

Republican Ohio did nothing about the East Palestine train derailment. As for wanting Biden to help, it is to laugh. Your own Ronald Reagan said that the last words any American wants to hear are: "I'm from the government and I'm here to help." Project 2025 represents Reagan's opinion that government can't solve a problem, government IS the problem. Which begs the question, what is the republican party's stake in government if it is something in which they don't believe? We've had our answer over the course of several republican administrations. Government exists as something for republicans to pillage and destroy. Now we have a new crew who want to get even nastier about it by abusing its judiciary function to punish "enemies" and excuse and legalize corruption.

by Anonymousreply 60July 18, 2024 3:41 PM

"Hi! I'm Nikki Haley, and I'm here for my ritual humiliation after daring to challenge Donald Trump!"
