It's a shame that he didn't get his father's looks. Instead he ended up as some kind of weird mashup of both. But he makes a great point. I hate the term nepo baby, but their true power is getting representation.

R5 - I think it goes much further than that. They also know how to negotiate better with contracts and they may not try to take advantage of them as much with their parents' fame and connections.

It's not just getting a foot in the door, it's also how you're treated once you're in the room.

Having family "in the industry" gives you an advantage. Not just the film industry but medicine, law, architecture. Having someone who can give advice on interviews, promotions, introductions etc is hugely beneficial. But there are disadvantages like "But if we give the job to Emily's daughter how will that look? Yes she's the best candidate but the perception...."

And ultimately Jack Quaid and Emma Roberts are both good at what they've been in.

Maggie Smith has two sons. One is very well known and gets cast in prestige projects. The other is a jobbing actor.

The issue is not wether any of this people are great (and Emma Roberts one note acting is definitely not great), is wether they admit the obvious thing of being given privilege in advancing their careers. Jane Fonda is a nepo baby and very talented. Jamie Leigh Curtis is less talented but still serviceable. The issue is that she and Roberts attempt to deny what is blatant nepotism and look much worse for it.

Jack has talent. Emma does not. Ironic that he's the humble one.
