The avid gardener enjoys her private and quiet life, albeit recently with some health setbacks.
I love her cover of Keep Me Holding On. It still makes it's way into my music rotation.

Lovely photo of her at the OP.
I don’t blame her for not wanting to sing Kids in America in her mid-sixties.
But I’m still a big fan of her debut album.

What’s her health setback?? A stroke??

Per the article, r3, it was a trifecta of long covid, club foot, and monkeypox.

Aww. She comes across very sweet and thoughtful about it all. Didn't expect that.

Why is there a thread about this person?

Her cover of You Keep Me Hanging On is one of the greatest covers ever.

She looks great for 63. Madonna should call her surgeon.

Ah u have to love Kim. I Hate when people don't know a celebrity and they ask nastily who are they? Kim means a lot to a generation or 2...Shes a great example of a survivor in the industry..and many posters copied her.

She’s the soundtrack of my youth. I love her. And she’s always come across as very sweet in interviews. A few years ago there was a hilarious video on YouTube of her coming back from a party, drunk as a skunk on the London tube, singing Kids In America in the carriage, with her brother Rick playing the guitar. She was obviously having a lot of fun and you could see some sour faces next to her having no clue who she was. I loved it.

40 plus years later, I’m still wondering why the “new wave” stopped at EAST California…

Did they have CDs in 1981? Maybe cassette? Or am missing one?
by Anonymous | reply 21 | July 14, 2024 4:44 AM |

It's a quasi-dance track and message song.

I'm not sure using a baseball bat is the message she should be sending the kids.
