I block nearly all the political and polling threads. It helps.

That's the way the old DataLounge used to be. There were two tabs and you could click on one for politics and the other for gossip and pointless bitchery. There's was also a side bar that promoted all the posts that people liked.

The problem with the old DataLounge was that if you mentioned a soap opera, it got deleted faster than you could say "Susan Lucci."

I'm fortunate that though I care about politics, it's not as much as some of you do. I know that no matter what happens, life will actually go on. Also, there's countless other subjects to discuss. If a person is only on DL for the politics, I'd be glad to see them leave. Otherwise, I suggest a person choose a topic they like to talk about and start a thread about it and have it.

Engagement and traffic on this site seems to have been cut in half over the past 6 months. It's one or two right-wing trolls who account for over 50% of the posts. They've run off most of the sane posters.

Did the same thing with a financial blog I've been visiting for the last 10 years, Op. I usually start my day skimming through the comments for news or stock tips but there a several MAGAt's on the site writing derogatory comments about democrats/Biden. Forced myself to read their comments to get a feel for what they are thinking but after the last couple of weeks I'm done.

Someone recently posted the pick below and used to complain about democratics destroying the city. The problem with the picture is it's cherry picked a abondaned building and the picture to the left is actually Windsor, Ontario. The Hiroshima pictures are accurate.
