I'm fortunate enough to have had a good upbringing. I was brought up by my biological parents who remained together and I had no trauma (sexual or otherwise) in my childhood. I'm still definitely gay. So it's easy for me to dismiss all the usual tropes that say homosexuality is caused by a bad upbringing. However, gay people who had issues in their past might sometimes want to find an easy explanation for their sexual orientation - especially if they're being shamed for it.

But all that aside, logic tells you homosexuality can't be caused by that, because there are a lot more straight people who've had difficult pasts.
