New York Times Says: 22 Best Pizza Places in America
Philly-style pizza is actually represented by a guy who moved from South Jersey to New Orleans. His pizza looks great.
But there is a Philly pizza joint on here, owned by Mexican immigrants. I'm going to stop in there and try a slice - or pie, depending on how it's sold.

Does anyone have a reason to give two shits anymore about what the Times says about anything? 1990 was the last time it could claim to be a worthwhile paper.
Fuck off, NYTs.

Yes, please do remind me the next time I'm in Mount Vernon, Iowa (Pop. 4,527) to stop at The Lincoln Winebar for a burnt pizza crust piled with a mountain of salad greens and grated cheese. I fear I'm out of touch with what podcasts 30-somethings on the outskirts of Cedar Rapids favor these days.
[quote]The scene is so familiar inside the Lincoln — the chalkboard menu, the natural wine, the 30-somethings comparing notes about their favorite podcasts — a visitor could easily forget they’re in a small town on the outskirts of Cedar Rapids. But you won’t forget for long.

They solved the problem of deciding which New Haven-style joint to feature by leaving New Haven-style off the list entirely. The nerve.

OP- I thought the article in the New York Times but I didn’t bother to read it. The photograph of that pizza was such a turn off. That pizza looks so un appetizing. I eat frozen pizza that looks far better than the pizza in that photograph.

I'm an Italian that has never before seen and read about so many unappetizing pizzas.
[quote]Pizza in America has never been better. The wood-fire Neapolitan pizzerias that took off in the early 2000s, and have been spreading ever since, taught Americans to ask more of a dish they already loved.
Nobody serous about pizza ever asked.
When I was in Italy, if tourists asked about Americanized pizza - say pineapple and ham. - they were told that they needed to go somewhere else to eat. That was a while ago, so maybe it's changed.
