I never have been. I always have coffee but if I eat it's something light such as yogurt or fruit. Thinking about greasy eggs and bacon in the morning turns my stomach.
Are you a breakfast person?
by Anonymous | reply 61 | June 29, 2024 3:06 AM |
I agree. I don't know how one can eat eggs, toast and bacon early in the day. I do love breakfast food.... for lunch or dinner.
by Anonymous | reply 1 | June 23, 2024 2:15 PM |
I love breakfast for supper, have never drank coffee, guess I never grew up.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | June 23, 2024 2:15 PM |
OP - Even with all of last night's congealed cum coating your stomach lining?
by Anonymous | reply 3 | June 23, 2024 2:22 PM |
Definitely not an English Breakfast person.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | June 23, 2024 2:33 PM |
I rarely eat breakfast foods in the morning. Only on odd occasions, like if we go out some mornings.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | June 23, 2024 2:35 PM |
Only on my 1-2 days off during the week. Otherwise breakfast is black coffee.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | June 23, 2024 2:42 PM |
The real question is: are you willing to pay people to cook breakfast for you? Some are not. Seems like easy money to me. You can’t make toast?
by Anonymous | reply 7 | June 23, 2024 2:47 PM |
Yes I love breakfast. Most days I toast and English muffin, and along side it in the toaster oven I crack an egg into a small 3" aluminum pie tin, so I don't have to break out a frying pan. I put a slice of cheddar cheese on the toasted muffin and then the baked egg and yum yum yum.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | June 23, 2024 2:48 PM |
Yes, but toast only, or fruit. I cant eat greasy eggs and bacon at any time let alone breakfast
by Anonymous | reply 9 | June 23, 2024 2:48 PM |
I like breakfast foods, but later in the day. In the morning, coffee or tea is enough. I don’t enjoy big plates of fried food. I like yogurt, fruit, oatmeal, toast. The older I get, the less food I need.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | June 23, 2024 2:48 PM |
I miss brunch!

Breakfast is my FAVORITE!!
Eggs Benedict, English muffins with cream cheese, maple sausage, bacon, over easy eggs, waffles, pancakes, hash browned potatoes, fresh fruits, citrus juices, oatmeal with fresh cream and brown sugar....
OMG. I love it all!!!
by Anonymous | reply 13 | June 23, 2024 5:05 PM |
no, I eat the bare minimum with fiber supplements and coffee. any more than that and I become nauseated
by Anonymous | reply 14 | June 23, 2024 5:18 PM |
When traveling on business with my corporate credit card I always ordered breakfast at the hotel to include poached eggs, and corned beef hash. Have not had this dish since I retired.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | June 23, 2024 6:01 PM |
That's one of my favorites too, R15!
by Anonymous | reply 16 | June 23, 2024 6:13 PM |
I rarely take breakfast unless I am out of the house, in which case it's coffee and a classic Spanish breakfast: a small bread split and toasted, with crushed tomato and olive oil and some good ham.
If traveling, I will sometimes have a bigger breakfast. At home i might have coffee and a couple of digestive biscuits or something similar, or nothing at all. In any case I don't like breakfast unless I've been awake an hour or two.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | June 23, 2024 7:08 PM |
It might be the most important meal of the day. But you lazy ass DLers probably roll out of bed and can barely function without java in your bones.
What you should be doing is getting up at the crack of dawn, throw on your sweats and go for a run, a jog, a power walk, a work out, and THEN return to make a great, high protein, healthy breakfast that will sustain something productive in this world ALL morning long....
by Anonymous | reply 18 | June 23, 2024 7:11 PM |
Buy Hormel's corn beef hash. Mash into an au gratin pan. Put in oven at 400 degrees F, Fall asleep for an hour. Wake up to the aroma of crispy hash. Slide a poached egg on top and serve with toast. Repeat again one year later.

I eat a balanced diet. That includes 3 square meals and 3 small snacks. All evenly timed throughout my day.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | June 23, 2024 7:53 PM |
I have never been a breakfast person. When I was a kid, my mom would try to make me eat breakfast in the morning and I'd end up getting nauseous from it and vomiting when I got to school. She eventually stopped forcing me to eat before school. I've just never had an appetite first thing in the morning. I will have coffee and water, but I usually can get by without eating until lunch time.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | June 23, 2024 8:05 PM |
I eat in the morning, but not breakfast food. Usually I make a turkey sandwich and eat half. Or any leftovers (pizza, spaghetti, Manwich, etc.)
by Anonymous | reply 24 | June 23, 2024 8:38 PM |
never ate breakfast...and ive remained in very good shape. Recently im thinking i have been an intermittant faster my whole life and it explains a lot. I also read somewhere recently that breakfast being the most important meal of the day was a pr scam.

Historical fact- Breakfast wasn't a thing in ancient Rome. They might have a little watered down wine with bread and cheese but most people skipped it.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | June 23, 2024 8:47 PM |
I used to be a brunch cook so I hate it all. Coffee and a cigarette outside on a milk crate will suffice.

On a day off, yes, I can enjoy a full, leisurely breakfast. I like savory breakfasts like omelets (cheese and mushroom) and Eggs Benedict. Wouldn't go out of my way for pancakes and waffles. If I'm eating at a restaurant, I might order a short stack to share and have a few bites.

It's called breakfast for a reason. If you don't break your overnight fast when you wake up your blood sugar is more likely to bottom out rapidly and you'll feel bad much of the day. That first meal in the morning should be a high protein meal which will do a lot to regulate your flood sugar and get your day started right.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | June 24, 2024 10:41 AM |
R34 doesnt seem to affect me if I delay breakfast, which I do sometimes on certain shifts. I cycle into town (about 24 km), do a 2 km swim, then have breakfast at work around 10:30 with no ill effects. And I couldnt stand to have a high protein breakfast anyway
by Anonymous | reply 35 | June 24, 2024 11:26 AM |
There are exceptions R35. Some people just have better body chemistry that helps keep their blood sugar regulated. But there is a large percentage of people who need to be very careful and need to eat responsibly to maintain a regulated blood sugar. Diabetics, pre-diabetics, and hypoglycemics are at the top of the list. And keep in mind, your body is going to change drastically as you age. Type 2 diabetes can develop later in life to even the most healthy person. And it can be managed easily (usually) with healthy eating habits.
If more people ate 6 small meals a day (every 2 hours or so) we'd have a lot less blood sugar problems.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | June 24, 2024 11:38 AM |
R36 true, different people are biologically quite different, and I'm fortunate in not needing to regulate my blood sugar much. I'm 61, probably does help that my eating habits have always been fairly healthy
by Anonymous | reply 37 | June 24, 2024 11:47 AM |
If you start your day with at least 15g of protein, preferably 21g, you will be less hungry throughout the day and therefore eat less overall.

Not necessarily:
After an intermittent fasting diet intervention, patients achieved complete diabetes remission, defined as an HbA1c (average blood sugar) level of less than 6.5% at least one year after stopping diabetes medication, according to a new study published in the Endocrine Society’s Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism.
I know someone who reversed her prediabetes condition by only eating between noon and 6pm each day. No breakfasts.

Coffee only. Maybe after a few hours I'll eat something. On weekends I might make a large breakfast but it's like 11-12ish.

R38 so how many loads do I have to swallow to achieve that?
by Anonymous | reply 42 | June 24, 2024 12:18 PM |
Not really. I hate eggs. Usually have cottage cheese or yogurt with berries. Sometimes I have cereal for dinner. Not real exciting.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | June 24, 2024 12:28 PM |
I've also never had an appetite in the morning. My mom used to make me drink Carnation Instant breakfast or take a breakfast bar to school after I puked up scrambled eggs in the potted plant on my way out the door to get the school bus.
I've been having breakfast salads lately which seems to kind of wake up my appetite before lunch time. I do love oatmeal and have it several times a week.

I like the way the Japanese do a hot breakfast.
Fish, soup, rice, salad, pickled vegetables, natto, tamagoyaki (rolled egg omelet).

Actually, R54 sleep-eats. He wakes up at three a.m. and drives over to McDonald's or White Castle, inhales about 6,000 calories in 10 minutes, goes back to sleep and when he awakens the next morning wonders why his fingers are greasy and he's still gaining weight.
by Anonymous | reply 58 | June 29, 2024 1:59 AM |
I'm in a breakfast rut - i have the same thing every morning. Some of this sounds bad - but I love this and never tire of it.
(Usually this is after a 5:30am workout)
1 'spicy' veggie sausage patty 1 egg 3 cups spinach
Mix that all up (no butter, no oil) and microwave for 65 seconds. Then add 7 tater tots from air fryer. Add in 1/2 piece of high-fiber multi-grain crisp bread. Black pepper and some hot pepper flakes.
I'm worried about the daily veggie sausage patty and the egg. One egg isn't bad - but that's 7 a week and 7 veggie sausages. As much as veggie sausages are better for you - it's still probably not a good idea to eat one every day.
But I can't go back to oatmeal, nuts and fruit. I did that far too long. I need more protein and texture.
