This is so bizarre. Beyond a quick look, no one really cares what you look like on the beach and is too busy doing his own thing to be focusing on you. It says more about them than anyone else that they want a fat beach day for "acceptance".

Whenever I see a group of trend-chasing tattooed Zoomers walking past me on the sidewalk or in the airport terminal, it’s inevitable that the only one who will be dressed in nothing but a sports bra and Lycra shorts will be the big bitch with the early 2010s Skrillx haircut, the septum piercing, and the 40+ BMI. None of her friends need a CPAP machine or a Lane Bryant loyalty card, yet they have the good sense to wear normal clothes when out in public.

Having been a fat kid, I will never condone making fun of fat people. But neither will I accept that it’s normal and fine to be obese. It just isn’t. It’s incredibly unhealthy. Would we tell diabetics it’s ok to eat all the sugar they want? Or people with heart problems to keep on eating greasy foods and sit on your couch?
