Tiny urls give op access to your IP address, your location, and other personal details that are usually protected by a website's privacy policy. In short, you're giving personal data to OP with no protections if you click that link.

R1 is full of shit.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | June 18, 2024 9:31 AM |
Madonna is box office poison and is humourless on film, true. But I doubt Madonna killed his career. He is such a miserable cunt, like many his family.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | June 18, 2024 9:35 AM |
So Madonna forced him to be in the movie? Sometimes we make crappy choices in life that are no one’s fault but our own. And sorry, but Spader was infinitely more appropriate for roles like Sex, Lies and Videotape.

I am not full of shit. You tried to get away with something, and I called you on it. So you can take that shit I'm supposedly full of and eat it, you duplicitous cunt.

It was true, about tinyurl risks, 10 years ago. I don't know if it's true today.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | June 18, 2024 9:58 AM |
The reason OP used the TINY url was to get around the DL ban on Daily Fail links.
There are other workarounds.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | June 18, 2024 9:59 AM |
Agreed, but I don't trust anyone here with my PII, and neither should you. This includes details in posts that can be strung together to figure out who you are using the block 🚫 feature. There are people who have openly declared they track posters here in spreadsheets based on metadata found in post URLs.

I wasn't giving you a hard time, R9. That was someone else.

It was either Simpson, Family Guy or American Dad, but there was a throwaway line regarding an actress, and a character commented, “She’s the best friend, at best.” Implying that the appeal of said actress was limited to a supporting role and they weren’t charismatic or beautiful enough to carry a film.
Griffin Dunne was the best friend, at best. Even David Naughton, who had no career after American Werewolf, was more suited for the lead in any film than Dunne. Dunne did just not have that center of gravity. And it had nothing to do him being short or offbeat looking, because look at Dustin Hoffman or Richard Dreyfuss. He was just not a star.
A good example of what happens when they try to make a “best friend” a star is the best friend from another werewolf franchise, Dylan O’Brien from Teen Wolf. And they tried and they tried and they tried.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | June 18, 2024 10:08 AM |
Oddly, David Naughton would have made “Who’s That Girl” work (better). He was an excellent Straight Man (the strait laced audience surrogate whom is pulled into a series of crazy events, like being turned into a werewolf or having to act alongside Madonna.)

R1 is right, I clicked on a tinyurl link and my social security card flew across the room and got sucked into the computer. Now it's gone forever, all thanks to tinyurl.

Madonna's grating "comic" performance was like nails on a blackboard. Also, she looked hideous: bleached blonde mop, bushy black eyebrows, and Lucille Ball lipstick... given way too many chances to become a movie star.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | June 18, 2024 11:24 AM |
R1 All websites have your IP address and can deduce your approximate location based on it. That's how the Internet works.
So, unknot your undies Paranoid Patties.

He said the movie was humorless, not Madonna. He’s stayed friends with her.

I've always thought the same about Madonna's "True Blue" era look. It wasn't flattering at all and didn't do her any favors. She was trying to style herself after Marilyn Monroe and it just didn't work for her at all.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | July 3, 2024 2:40 AM |
The movie could've been tolerable if Madonna didn't use that horrendous screechy high-pitched vocal affect. I'm surprised the director didn't tell her to knock it off.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | July 3, 2024 2:41 AM |
I thought it was a cute film and she was funny and pretty in it.

R19 Madonna was actually good in this movie. The movie was terrible and un fixable.
R18 her look was for the movie not to look like Marilyn. I agree, aside from Open Your Heart on, she did not look great during this era.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | July 3, 2024 2:44 AM |
R4 She can’t act her way out of a paper bag. I been saying that since my NYU days and was thrilled when Patti say it.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | July 3, 2024 2:46 AM |
i thought she looked awful in the movie...white hair, huge/dark/bushy brows, the makeup, the hairstyle. One of her worst looks ever.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | July 3, 2024 2:47 AM |
R23 STFU She’s given many great acting performances.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | July 3, 2024 2:47 AM |
With the right director she can give good performances. I wish David Fincher would’ve directed her in a movie. He could get a great performance out of her.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | July 3, 2024 2:49 AM |
She attempted Marilyn Monroe in ‘90 and pulled it off very well R21
by Anonymous | reply 27 | July 3, 2024 2:59 AM |
I meant R18
by Anonymous | reply 28 | July 3, 2024 3:00 AM |
Her music video for Oh Father with Fincher directing is amazing.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | July 3, 2024 3:00 AM |
I agree that Madonna was actually great in this movie. Slapstick is not easy to pull off, people. She was actually good at it.

r27 that era was Dietrich and not Monroe. The Dietrich inspiration was much more flattering for her.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | July 3, 2024 3:19 AM |
Bad Girl was her best video, also directed by Fincher.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | July 3, 2024 3:20 AM |
I don't know him.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | July 3, 2024 3:22 AM |
I thought it was brilliant!
by Anonymous | reply 35 | July 3, 2024 3:23 AM |
In real life Griffin Dunne isn't nice, or fun to be around. He has this entitled air.
I guess everyone had sufficient!
by Anonymous | reply 36 | July 3, 2024 3:24 AM |
I actually watched the first few seasons of This Is Us and thought he was perfect for his role.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | July 3, 2024 3:27 AM |
He’s right. His character was a total pussy in this horrible “film” and she was a laughable cartoon character.
Oddly, I always judge him on this performance. Which means he’s right.
Madonna is cinema cyanide.

Lowden… Lowden Clear!
by Anonymous | reply 39 | July 3, 2024 3:29 AM |
She was phenomenal is Dangerous Game which is the reason she got Evita. The director Abel Ferrara said he had to get Madonna out of her comfort zone and really mind fucked her, but he said he got an Oscar caliber performance out of her and he was not wrong. The rape monologue with Harvey Keitel and the ending are 🔥.
R38 Do you know how fucking stupid you sound? DSS was a hit ONLY because of Madonna. Dick Tracy was a huge movie and she was a main attraction. Truth or Dare was the biggest documentary for decades. A League was huge and don’t think she was not one of the reasons- Hanks was on the skids and David was not a box office draw. Evita was a box office success solely due to Madonna. So fuck you. I have facts. The movies that bombed, bombed because they were terrible.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | July 3, 2024 3:33 AM |
I saw her, said a prayer and kissed my heart 'goodbye'..
by Anonymous | reply 41 | July 3, 2024 3:54 AM |
Run faster, her laughter burns you up inside- so true for so many.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | July 3, 2024 3:57 AM |
WTG was a terrible terrible movie and Madonna cannot act. For a performer with such charisma it’s puzzling why it never worked in movies but did in videos. Shanghai Surpise, anyone?
by Anonymous | reply 43 | July 3, 2024 4:00 AM |
She was good in WTG. The movie was terrible. When she’s had good directors, she’s been very good.

R40 uh o now. Is there a Madgebot. He or she left no crumbs in that post.

R43 It worked in Desperately Seeking Susan
by Anonymous | reply 46 | July 3, 2024 4:55 AM |
R46 Fuck you, cunt. Yes, I am a proud Madonna fan. You are Janbot. Now we know.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | July 3, 2024 6:10 AM |

by Anonymous | reply 48 | July 3, 2024 6:31 AM |
No, r47 was for r45
by Anonymous | reply 49 | July 3, 2024 6:32 AM |
R47 what in the bipolar hell. I am not Janbot. I said you left no crumbs. You ate. It was a compliment. I fucks with Madge although the Queen is the best female artist of all time. There deserves a Madgebot. There deserves a Beybot. Janet deserves some Baja Fresh.

R50 my apologies.
