Dumbest states almost entirely red states

A list of the 10 states with the lowest median IQ shows the overwhelming majority are red states and the lion’s share of the electoral votes Trump will get in November.

Does this track? Do people who have lived in these states have recollections of people drooling, or saying “I like Trump?”

I don’t believe these surveys. They can’t test everyone in the population.

by Anonymousreply 1June 17, 2024 4:35 PM

Which of the dumb states are you from, “Warrior?”

Hahaha!

by Anonymousreply 2June 17, 2024 4:39 PM

The schools test everybody - or at least they used to. Standardized tests given towards the end of the year to inform the school boards, etc., of how the schools are performing on reading, math, etc.

by Anonymousreply 3June 17, 2024 5:45 PM

Maths.

by Anonymousreply 4June 17, 2024 5:52 PM

Oklahoma is not on that list, so I doubt its accuracy.

by Anonymousreply 5June 17, 2024 5:56 PM

R5 Right. Neither is Florida

by Anonymousreply 6June 17, 2024 6:03 PM

How did Missouri not make the top ten?

by Anonymousreply 7June 17, 2024 6:05 PM

R1? Ever take a statistics class? Perhaps you should.

by Anonymousreply 8June 17, 2024 6:18 PM

Starting a sentence with a question mark. Where they do that at?

by Anonymousreply 9June 17, 2024 6:20 PM

They do it in the Spanish language, R9. Maybe you should take a class in that too.

I thought I was well acquainted with stupid and then I visited my mother and saw Texas stupid in action. Cashiers unable to make change. Movers failing to pack things and walking into walls.

by Anonymousreply 11June 17, 2024 8:54 PM

Cont. Cabdrivers expecting out-of-towners to give them directions from the airport.

We're from the rust belt and Mom moved to Houston to be with elder brother. I sent her on cruises but rarely went down there. What an education when I did.

by Anonymousreply 12June 17, 2024 8:57 PM

I can't believe Indiana didn't make the list. It should be in the top five.

by Anonymousreply 13June 17, 2024 8:58 PM

The Republican Party plans to keep it this way, because every idiot is a vote for them

Now find out which demographic in these states are bringing the states down. You never want to do that final step. You must interpret the raw data for valid conclusions. Plus I haven't even looked at the methodology.

by Anonymousreply 17June 17, 2024 9:08 PM

[Quote] Starting a sentence with a question mark.

Oh dearheart, you poor thing. 🤣 R8 didn’t start his sentence with a question mark.

So, anyway, which low-IQ state do you live in?

by Anonymousreply 18June 17, 2024 9:10 PM

R16 is from Mississippi. That’s how you say “hi” there.

by Anonymousreply 19June 17, 2024 9:11 PM

[quote]They can’t test everyone in the population.

Okay, R1 - If you don't believe in sampling, then the next time you go to the doctor let them take ALL of your blood to test.

by Anonymousreply 20June 17, 2024 9:14 PM

No worries, R18. I already blocked him/her.

Something about those comments reminds me of one of our more confrontational trolls, and who needs that?

MAGAs.

Just creeping in here. Been here for decades on and off, was here for the 9/11 thread. I wasn't all that old then but I am now.

Should I know this nut? I often feel the same nuts pre 2000 are still here.

We need another DL get-together.

I've seen Real Housewives of New Jersey, so why isn't it on this list?

by Anonymousreply 25June 17, 2024 9:33 PM

Because NJ is one of the highest IQ states.

by Anonymousreply 26June 17, 2024 9:37 PM

You are displaying a low IQ thought process.

I'm surprised NY isn't in the top 10 of smartest states. Maybe it's the outer boroughs dragging the results down for the whole state?

R23, are you hearing voices again?

by Anonymousreply 37June 17, 2024 11:53 PM

Warrior is Defacto btw

by Anonymousreply 38June 17, 2024 11:57 PM

R10 oh dear but that’s not Spanish. He wasn’t fonting in Spanish. Are you drunk?

by Anonymousreply 39June 18, 2024 12:02 AM

Thanks for the heads up, R38. Already blocked.

by Anonymousreply 40June 18, 2024 12:14 AM

Progressives won’t dare discuss the demographics of these states because it won’t fit their narrative. They go dead silent as California makes the list as one of the dumbest states in the county.

by Anonymousreply 41June 18, 2024 12:35 AM

R1 is unaware of statistics, as the troll's posts have shown while the persona is worked out.

by Anonymousreply 42June 18, 2024 12:41 AM

Here comes r41 with his skull calipers and books about Nazi race "science"

by Anonymousreply 43June 18, 2024 2:43 AM

Four of the six New England states are in the top ten smartest. Sorry Maine and Rhode Island.

by Anonymousreply 44June 18, 2024 2:55 AM

Dumbest state in the county R41?

by Anonymousreply 45June 18, 2024 3:01 AM

R34 - it's not the outer boroughs; it's the area beyond the NY metro area (NY state).

by Anonymousreply 46June 18, 2024 3:26 AM

R41, and yet California invents and innovates. Do any of the states listed at OP do so?

by Anonymousreply 47June 18, 2024 4:00 AM

[Quote] Progressives won’t dare discuss the demographics of these states because it won’t fit their narrative.

Defacto is here saying “those states are dumb because of black people.”

Notice how he signed out of his latest blosplay to post his true feelings about black people.

Using his “logic,” the states with the highest black populations should be the same as the lowest IQ states, right?

Oh no, Defacto! That’s not the case!!!

Top ten counting backwards just like the list in OP;

New York

Virginia

North Carolina

Delaware

South Carolina

Alabama

Maryland

Georgia

Louisiana

Mississippi

What a perplexing disconnect from the low IQ list. Poor Defacto!

by Anonymousreply 48June 18, 2024 4:41 AM

R31 R41 California is more than just the coastal cities where you’re likely to find the highest concentrations of educated people and academic institutions; Bay Area (Stanford, Silicon Valley), Santa Barbara, Ventura/LA County, San Diego. Most of California is rural and conservative. The desert, inland counties, Central Valley, and Northern counties are mostly red.

by Anonymousreply 49June 18, 2024 7:58 AM

The link at R30 gives absolutely no information about methodology or how they obtained their data sets.
