Can Eddie Redmayne be an EGOT?

I didn't realize that he already has an Academy Award and a Tony Award.

All he has to do is record an album for a Grammy, and do some good television work for an Emmy.

ET VOILÀ!

He definitely has the potential to do it.

He has an album coming our with Bonnie Raitt, so I wouldn't rule an Emmy out.

by Anonymousreply 2May 24, 2024 3:10 AM

Not bad for a guy with very little talent.

by Anonymousreply 3May 24, 2024 3:13 AM

With the way they've moved the old goal posts and changed the rules, The Real Housewives can become EGOTs at this point in time.

by Anonymousreply 4May 24, 2024 3:17 AM

Bonnie Raitt is some star power, R2.

Could a Grammy be up next??

It's possible.

by Anonymousreply 5May 24, 2024 3:20 AM

I doubt he'll do TV again after that The Danish Girl: The Sitcom fiasco. It's a shame, because the episode where Lili and Gerda get jobs at a sausage factory was hilarious.

by Anonymousreply 6May 24, 2024 3:32 AM

What sort of album is he doing with Bonnie Raitt?

by Anonymousreply 7May 24, 2024 3:33 AM

Does he have a big EGO?

by Anonymousreply 8May 24, 2024 3:35 AM

Jazz Standards.

by Anonymousreply 9May 24, 2024 3:35 AM

He should record the songs from that musial adaptation of The Theory of Relativity, where he plays Stephen Hawkins again. I love his version of, "Mwaaaaaaamluuuuuuuhguuuuuubwaaaaaaab".

by Anonymousreply 10May 24, 2024 3:38 AM

If Eddie wins a Grammy for this album with Bonnie Raitt, then it's a guarantee that he'll do a television show.

There's no way he wouldn't go for the last award.

He already has the OT. All he needs is the EG.

Would a Cabaret cast album be eligible for a Grammy noination?

by Anonymousreply 12May 24, 2024 3:41 AM

Yes, R12.

That's where I thought his best shot would be for a Grammy.

by Anonymousreply 13May 24, 2024 3:44 AM

He looks like the love child of Liv Ullmann and Billie Jean King in the OP's photo.

by Anonymousreply 14May 24, 2024 4:02 AM

r13 Cabaret didn't receive good reviews. I really doubt it will win a Grammy.

by Anonymousreply 15May 24, 2024 4:09 AM

They need to stop trying to make this ghoul happen. Shocked that he has gotten as far as he has.

by Anonymousreply 16May 24, 2024 4:33 AM

It's still hilarious to me that no one other than Philip Michael Hall knew about such a thing as an EGOT until the writers of "30 Rock" mocked the idea and everyone took it seriously. I can see the idea of the Acting Triple Crown (i.e. the Oscar, the Emmy, and the Tony, but all for acting only) having meaning, but what the hell does a Grammy have to do with the other three awards?

by Anonymousreply 17May 24, 2024 4:37 AM

Philip Michael Thomas, R17.

The Danish Girl has aged really poorly and it's only going to get worse. Eventually it will tarnish him.

by Anonymousreply 19May 24, 2024 5:06 AM

He has a homely wife.

by Anonymousreply 20May 24, 2024 5:13 AM

I think the EGOT started with a TV commercial where Rita Moreno was trumpeted as the only winner of all 4 awards.

(the commercial wasn't even correct since Helen Hayes already had all 4.)

by Anonymousreply 21May 24, 2024 5:13 AM

Nobody cares about EGOT except for guests on The View.

by Anonymousreply 22May 24, 2024 5:29 AM

I’m still surprised by the criticism of The Danish Girl.

It was a decent film with two strong performances about a man with gender dysphoria and his wife who wasn’t best pleased about becoming a lesbian.

by Anonymousreply 23May 24, 2024 5:47 AM

It wasn't criticized at the time r23. Only in the more trans woke period did it become a target.

Vikander won an Oscar for it and Redmayne was nominated.

by Anonymousreply 24May 24, 2024 6:40 AM

All he has to do....? As my granddad used to say "If I had some ham, I'd have a ham sandwich, if I had some bread."

by Anonymousreply 25May 24, 2024 6:53 AM

He looks like Carrot Top’s aborted fetus.

by Anonymousreply 26May 24, 2024 8:06 AM

Are there any other male EGOTS?

by Anonymousreply 27May 24, 2024 2:43 PM

EGADS!
