Personally I don't believe there is such a thing as a sane gay porn star. You've got to have some screws loose to even consider getting into the porn industry. Granted, some get into it and come out and disappear into society, but there's always the possibility you'll be found out and have your life ruined.

It's probably the ones who do just a handful of porn shoots over a few months or a couple of years to subsidize their income and then move on with their lives. I agree that some of the long-term ones can be categorized as having some mental issues, but I think most of them are just typical people who are will to get paid for having sex on film.

People turn to porn because:

a) they can’t get a job doing anything else because they have a criminal record

b) they need to fuel their drug addiction

c) they are mentally ill

Forgot d) they’re unemployable because they have zero work ethic or don’t know how to behave in public or a workplace

There's a lot of money to be made in doing porn today. Lots of people have OnlyFans pages. When I am on Twitter, it seems like every other twink I see has set up an OF page.

All porn stars, both big and small, are one thing. They are exhibitionists. Not the dirty old man in a trench coat kind, but the kind who get off on having people watch them have sex. That in itself shows that people who get into the business are screwed up to some degree. And those who think doing porn will never come back to haunt them are either very gullible or just plain dumb. Some may go through their whole lives after porn and never get found out, but that is certainly no guarantee it will happen that way for everyone.

Back in the day many gay porn guys got into it mainly to advertise their prostitution endeavors. Being a porn star meant they could charge more than the usual guy out selling his ass. A few did it to supplement their incomes as they got paid a lot more than they do today. Those days are long gone. The minimum $500 per scene payouts the guys got back in the day are now around $100 per scene. I think that's why there are so few real porn 'stars' working these days.

This is a major generality but I think that the majority of porn stars have been sexual abused at some point in their lives, and porn gives them a sense of control over their bodies and sex.
