Sharon Stone, Stephen Fry and Liam Neeson have called for Kevin Spacey to be allowed to return to acting.

Fuck these people.

The celebrity support was discussed here.

Trevor Nunn wasn't named initially.

Stephen Fry isn't surprising.

Who’s preventing him? Oh, right. The studios that don’t want the headache.

by Anonymousreply 2May 16, 2024 12:23 PM

They're free to produce a film and hire Kevin Spacey. There's no law against hiring him, it's just bad business and that's why those three won't do it themselves.

by Anonymousreply 3May 16, 2024 12:29 PM

Spacey is 64. He should just retire, come out and then enjoy the rest of his life living honestly. In a few years he can do a cameo or two and that might repair his standing a bit. His acting career is over - his fault.

Poor Sharon hasn’t had any attention in at least a month. I was beginning to get concerned.

by Anonymousreply 5May 16, 2024 12:35 PM

OP = hysterical frau.

Exactly. As I said in the other thread, producers would need to make sure he was chaperoned on set to avoid any complaints of similar behaviour and they'd have to factor Spacey's involvement into audience appeal.

Behaviour… which woke European shithole do you hail from, dear, or are you a Canaditard?

I love it when celebs show us who they are.

How can you expect to be taken seriously?

by Anonymousreply 12May 16, 2024 1:35 PM

“If we can’t bring him back, then how can I be a victim?”

by Anonymousreply 13May 16, 2024 1:41 PM

Evidently Nunn met Spacey last year to discuss a way back, in UK theatre.

by Anonymousreply 14May 16, 2024 6:25 PM

Stephen Fry supports Spacey?

Takes one to know one.

by Anonymousreply 15May 16, 2024 8:23 PM

Since these production companies have yo be insured against stuff like harassment claims, I wonder if they could have insurance issues with hiring a notorious sex pest like Spacey.

There’s also the fact that he’s basically toxic now, acquittals or not. He's talented and personable onscreen but he’s also completely gross.

r18 thinks age gap relationships are sexual exploitation.

by Anonymousreply 20May 16, 2024 11:33 PM

I agree with them. Plus I think some of the accusations have been embellished.

by Anonymousreply 21May 16, 2024 11:35 PM

He could be the next Masked Singer or even the next Golden Bachelor!

by Anonymousreply 22May 16, 2024 11:43 PM

Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil was great

[quote] Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil was great

It was a mess.

Yes, Spacey was great and so was Chablis.

But changing the author in that story to a straight man, and making Clint's soggy dishrag of a daughter the star, was a waste of space that could have been used on any of the fascinating characters from the book.

by Anonymousreply 25May 17, 2024 12:41 AM

Spacey was on Chris Cuomo’s show tonight. Did anyone watch?
