Chris Cuomo says he was wrong about Ivermectin: "I am now taking a regular dose"
Chris Cuomo’s stance on Ivermectin as a theraputic drug for COVID-19 has done a complete 180, as the news anchor who once said on CNN that anyone promoting it should be “shamed” now says he’s “taking a regular dose” to deal with his own struggles with long-term effects of an infection.
Cuomo shared in January that he’s suffering from “long COVID,” or the long-term lingering effects of a previous infection. This week on the PBD Podcast, a current-events show hosted by Patrick Bet-David, the NewsNation personality said he’s using the antiviral to help with an ongoing inflammatory response and “brain fog.”
“I’ll tell you something else that’s gonna get you a lot of hits,” Cuomo said. “I am taking … a regular dose of Ivermectin. Ivermectin was a boogeyman during COVID. That was wrong. We were given bad information about Ivermectin. The real question is, why?”
When COVID-19 was peaking in 2020 and 2021, Ivermectin emerged as a fringe remedy, and was instantly denounced as a “horse dewormer” – including a segment that mocked podcaster Joe Rogan for announcing that he had success taking the antiviral drug. Though it was first used in the 1970s as an antiparasitic primarily for animals, Ivermectin’s use in humans had become widespread in later decades, as a malaria prophylaxis and treatment in particular, and is considered very safe.
“Everyone’s going to say ‘Joe Rogan was right,'” Cuomo continued. “No, Joe Rogan was saying – yeah, he was right – that’s not what matters. What matters is, the entire medical community knew that Ivermectin couldn’t hurt you. They knew it … I know they knew it. How do I know? Because now I’m doing nothing but talking to these clinicians, who at the time were overwhelmed by COVID, and they weren’t saying anything!”

Brain rot. There are zero benefits to taking a fucking horse dewormer on a regular basis.

R8, Cuomo has been unpopular on DL for months. He has been doing more and more to try and appeal to the right-wing viewers of his new network. He's even said he's open to voting for Trump. There was a thread here on it last month.

You see folks? This is how misinformation is spread. Of course he's not taking the equine version. Does he look like he weighs half a ton? He's taking the canine version, Nexgard. He probably needs to take a couple for his weight range. Get your facts straight.

During the height of COVID, and especially in 2021, there were numerous sites that kept track of COVID deniers and people who used ivermectin therapeutically, and their death rates were off the charts. There were people in the public eye because they were preachers, television or radio personalities or bloggers. Ivermectin has uses as an antiparasitic drug used for the following conditions: "Approved for human use in 1987,[9] it is used to treat infestations including head lice, scabies, river blindness (onchocerciasis), strongyloidiasis, trichuriasis, ascariasis and lymphatic filariasis. " Except for lice and scabies, most of the other parasites are tropical parasites, very rare in the US.
There still remain NO reputable studies proving any sort of effectiveness of ivermectin against COVID or its lingering effects. Chris Cuomo is nice looking, but time has proven that he is not the sharpest knife in the drawer.

Chris Cuomo is apparently maggot brained just like RFK Jr. I remember when he got COVID at the beginning of the pandemic and he was broadcasting from the basement of his home. He may definitely have some long term post COVID symptoms such as brain frog. Ivermectin has not been showed to have any positive effect on the corona virus or it's after effects. That is not what it was made for or determined to function as.

Some people I know don’t know where he is or what he’s up to because he just doesn’t matter. Funny thing is, they’re trustworthy and do just fine in the world without knowing this important information (to you). “Where’s Cuomo?” doesn’t even rate with all that is happening in the world today.

I used to give Chris Cuomo more credit and benefit of the doubt because of his father, NY Governor Mario Cuomo, the first politician I ever volunteered. Even though I never cared for his brother Andrew Cuomo, I assumed he was more thoughtful like his father was. He was also blessed with great looks so that may have been a factor. But as time progressed on his CNN show he seemed more like a damaged second generation goomba and too similar to his asshole brother in Albany. If he lacks the intellect to believe Ivermectin would cure his long COVID, that's fine. But he is joining the Joe Rogan Bro mentality of anti-science approach to health that will make gullible people not already in excellent health or shape turn into sicker or compromised individuals.

Personal Story here: in 2021 an extended ( but much loved) family member contracted COVID. In Colombia, which now has such sophisticated medical services they actually contract with American Health insurance companies, for those that can "afford it". This family member was both tremendously wealthy and extremely privileged at the time. Her only precondition was her age (63).
Unfortunately, while the ungrateful MAGA worms here, were running of their mouths about noxious COVID Conspiracies, Vaccination Conspiracies, and protests about the then available treatments in the U.S. Meanwhile: THE ENTIRE SOUTH-AMERICAN CONTINENT HAD 🚫 ACCESS TO BASIC COVID TESTING.
Oh well, too bad I guess, huh?
The poor woman ( and many others like her) was only diagnosed until her symptoms got bad. The only available treatment in the Country? Ivermectin.
She went into the best hospital, with the most modern medical equipment and providers, was put in a first-class private suite and started Ivermectin Treatment right away. In one week worsened considerably and was put on a ventilator. Three days later she died. Not even time to get to her bedside/funeral in time. The same happened to hundreds of thousands of other Covid patients in South America.
Please Fucking SPARE ME with this absolute bullshit about Ivermectin's clinical value and the stupid shits who spew this propaganda in support of these horse suppositories.

Chris Cuomo is an idiot and so is anyone who takes health advice from Joe Rogan, of all people. However, am I really the only one here who knows that ivermectin is approved and available for human use as well as veterinary use? Wikipedia is your friend.
[quote]It is on the World Health Organization's List of Essential Medicines, and is approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration as an antiparasitic agent.

Ivermectin has been shown to inhibit the replication of SARS-CoV-2 in cell cultures.3 However, pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic studies suggest that achieving the plasma concentrations necessary for the antiviral efficacy detected in vitro would require administration of doses up to 100-fold higher than those approved for use in humans.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | May 11, 2024 2:25 AM

R41 So basically super high doses of Ivermectin will create a toxic environment for the virus, but will likely create a a toxic environment for human life as well.

r43 it would never happen due to huge bad blood between the Kennedys and Cuomos. Andrew and Kerry Kennedy had a hugely vicious and contentious divorce several years ago. Her brothers really hate him (and possibly Chris, by extension).
