What do you reckon?
I don't know and I don't care, as long as she's healthy. She wasn't always, and I want her aound for as long as possible.
by Anonymous | reply 1 | May 9, 2024 10:48 AM |
Sorry. She looked much better with the weight. She may be thinner and smiling, but she looks ill.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | May 9, 2024 10:49 AM |
Her face looks good for having lost all that weight. I don't blame her for wanting to lose weight. When you're the chubby or fat girl, you want to see what it's like to be thinner.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | May 9, 2024 10:53 AM |
She doesn't look as bad as some people who've used Ozempic. But losing weight quickly does seem to age certain people.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | May 9, 2024 10:58 AM |
Oh wow! She looks great and if she's happy then I am too. Love her. Very talented lady.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | May 9, 2024 10:58 AM |
Fatties slowly becoming an endangered species in Hollywood. Just as it should be.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | May 9, 2024 11:02 AM |
Looks great ? Are you kidding ?!
by Anonymous | reply 7 | May 9, 2024 11:20 AM |
Kathy Bates’ happiness is very important to me too!
by Anonymous | reply 8 | May 9, 2024 11:23 AM |
She looks good but also looks like she has a small pencil mustache. WUWT?
by Anonymous | reply 9 | May 9, 2024 11:24 AM |
Kathy has had numerous serious health problems for years. That picture makes me nervous.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | May 9, 2024 11:35 AM |
R10 Kathy's health problems were probably caused by her weight. At one point she was morbidly obese. Good for her for losing the weight.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | May 9, 2024 11:40 AM |
I love her - overweight or not.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | May 9, 2024 11:45 AM |
I was trying to be positive R7. She's 75. With a bit of hair and makeup she would have looked even better.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | May 9, 2024 11:48 AM |
Ozy, Ozy, Oxen Freeeeeeee 💃🏻
by Anonymous | reply 14 | May 9, 2024 11:49 AM |
I'd rather have her overweight and alive, than skinny and ill.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | May 9, 2024 11:50 AM |
It’s like she’s vanishing before our eyes!
by Anonymous | reply 16 | May 9, 2024 12:08 PM |
I always thought she’d be a stunner if she were slender but at 75 nobody is. At best, they get a “For her age.”
Can’t take her talent and likability away, though, and if it was Ozempic, it’s great to see somebody use it for its real purpose. She was in Type 2 diabetes territory for a long, long time and I want her to stay around. She’s one hell of a good actress.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | May 9, 2024 12:19 PM |
Oh she looks fantastic. You can see the happiness on her face.
Ozempic is a wonderful drug for many people, but people who use it for the wrong reasons give it a bad rep.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | May 9, 2024 12:21 PM |
R17. What is the real purpose of Ozempic?
by Anonymous | reply 19 | May 9, 2024 12:26 PM |
I’m r17
by Anonymous | reply 20 | May 9, 2024 12:30 PM |
R20. Thanks for introducing yourself. Did you have an answer to the question?
by Anonymous | reply 21 | May 9, 2024 12:32 PM |
She was thin(ner) in 1990’s “Men Don’t Leave”. Not a stunner but she had an interesting look. I love that movie,
by Anonymous | reply 22 | May 9, 2024 12:33 PM |
She's playing Matlock in a reboot.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | May 9, 2024 12:35 PM |
That’s a very conservative suit, but it looks nicely made and fits her well.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | May 9, 2024 12:40 PM |
I assume any celebrity who loses more than 10lbs is on Ozempic.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | May 9, 2024 12:43 PM |
Actually, I am R17. R20’s post appears to have been a swing and a miss, implying that Kathy is not attractive and that I’m blind. Ho ho ho.
But since we’re on the subject, R19, the real purpose for Ozempic is to control diabetes. When uncontrolled, the condition can progress to the point where amputation of limbs becomes necessary and sufferers lose their sight.
Type 1 (also known as “juvenile” diabetes) can have the same results but is not present for the behavioral reasons that Type 2 is. When I lived in Seattle, I regularly participated in an annual fund-raising walk for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
Also, at one point I was told I was prediabetic. I believe that’s likely untrue now because I adopted the changes in lifestyle that can reverse it — I do mild exercise regularly and took off 48 pounds. The next JDRF run and walk will be happening on May 19 and I’m traveling up from Oregon to participate.
Diabetes is a horrible, horrible thing.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | May 9, 2024 12:51 PM |
Like someone said on another thread-
Orca I mean Oprah has lost 50lbs about 40 times.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | May 9, 2024 1:09 PM |
She’s an aging woman who has lost weight and eschews cosmetic procedures. She a great actress in part because she does not bend to the Hollywood nonsense.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | May 9, 2024 1:09 PM |
[quote]With a bit of hair and makeup she would have looked even better.
She's bald too?
by Anonymous | reply 29 | May 9, 2024 1:14 PM |
All she needs is a better hairstyle WITH BANGS and to drop the belt, which is cutting her in half.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | May 9, 2024 1:21 PM |
It’s not Ozempic. She just suddenly worked out how to diet and exercise
by Anonymous | reply 31 | May 9, 2024 1:22 PM |
She has Lymphedema and probably was type 2- My guess is Mounjaro rather than Ozempic.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | May 9, 2024 1:30 PM |
I'm pretty sure she used to be slim/and quite lovely if I recall my "The Love Boat" reruns correctly.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | May 9, 2024 1:55 PM |
No way. Like Kelly Clarkson, I’m sure she just “walks everywhere.”
by Anonymous | reply 34 | May 9, 2024 1:56 PM |
She looks amazing. I bet she added at least 5 more years to her life
by Anonymous | reply 35 | May 9, 2024 1:58 PM |
It’s not unusual for people Kathy’s age to lose weight. Sometimes it just happens because hunger dissipates. She’s okay.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | May 9, 2024 1:59 PM |
recent clip / thinking how great these two actresses would be in a vehicle.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | May 9, 2024 2:06 PM |
She was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2003, then breast cancer in 2012. As R32 noted, she has lymphedema in both arms after her bilateral mastectomy.
Kathy Bates is a remarkable woman and anything that keeps her happy and healthy, including Ozempic or Monjaro, is totally worth it!
by Anonymous | reply 38 | May 9, 2024 2:06 PM |
I didn't know she was 75. Curious that CBS is launching a weekly show with her at that age.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | May 9, 2024 2:11 PM |
Maybe, she can get some work done on her face.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | May 9, 2024 2:29 PM |
I liked her brief stint as Ruth Fisher's friend on Six Feet Under.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | May 9, 2024 2:37 PM |
"My lymphedema is under control. I've lost about 80 pounds over the last few years, which has helped a lot with the swelling in my arms, but I still wear my compression sleeves if I'm flying or if I'm doing strenuous tasks. I like to be self-sufficient, so before I know it, my arms are inflamed and painful."

by Anonymous | reply 42 | May 9, 2024 4:06 PM |
Ozempic has made her face look mean.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | May 9, 2024 4:11 PM |
You are all stupid people, you are used to her being fat, now she is not, this she looks sick, she would look the same way and you would be used to her if she never was fat at all. Stupid people is the reason we got trump.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | May 9, 2024 4:34 PM |
Good for her. Now she can get busy with what she’s really passionate about:
Fucking.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | May 9, 2024 6:50 PM |
No, don't get any surgery, your face looks great for 75yo, Kathy. Very cute. If she lightened her hsir she would get a big bounce. Best wishes Kath!

[quote] "All she needs is a better hairstyle WITH BANGS and to drop the belt, which is cutting her in half."
Good styling points, R30. And I hope that's the case.

[quote] "Fatties slowly becoming an endangered species in Hollywood. Just as it should be."
I don't recall breaking out the Ouija Board, and asking Karen Carpenter for her opinion. So whoever it was...please promptly banish her back to Heaven.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | May 9, 2024 10:04 PM |
Why do fat people always seem to have oval faces after the weight loss? Round-ish faces are more aestetically pleasing, and that's how they looked when they achieved fame.
by Anonymous | reply 49 | May 9, 2024 10:06 PM |
R17. I like most of the world, knew the original reason for developing Ozempic was to treat diabetes when I posed the question. That is quite a different thing from saying the real purpose of Ozempic is to treat diabetes only. The real purpose of Ozempic is to treat whatever it can safely and effectively treat (After taking into consideration supply constraints which may dictate limiting it to the most immediately life threatening conditions first.)
Aspirin was not developed to treat heat disease. Viagra wasn’t developed to treat erectile distinction. Nonetheless it would be stupid to say treating those conditions are not purposes of those drugs.
Np one says it’s nice to see someone use aspirin for its real purpose of treating pain for a change. That would simply be stupid.
The only reason somebody would say that about ozempic is a combination of 1) peculiar attitudes about overweight people and 2) ignorance.
by Anonymous | reply 50 | May 9, 2024 10:08 PM |
R50. You make a good point. I was prescribed Proscar for my enlarged prostrate. Then my hair grew back where it was thinning. Proscar is also prescribed as Propecia for hair loss, which is a much more a cosmetic issue than not being able to piss. But why would I care if it made bald people healthy?
by Anonymous | reply 51 | May 9, 2024 10:53 PM |
^^^^ happy, not healthy.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | May 9, 2024 10:54 PM |
I wonder if her boobs have dropped any lower since she bared them for us in "About Schmidt."
