Film Clip Shows Dunaway Ordering Crew Member to 'Please Leave
Faye Dunaway's reputation for being hard to work with may just have been bolstered anew as a clip from the 1990s has emerged, showing the temperamental actor ordering a crew member to "please leave."
UK newspaper the Daily Mail reported that in the clip, filmed in 1996 as Dunaway was making a commercial, "Dunaway, now 83, can be seen ordering a crew member off set merely because she could see him."
The Mail rounded out the story, explaining that the ad was being made for Dunaway's "live stage show 'Master Class,' a play based on the life of opera singer Maria Callas..."
In the clip, "Dunaway glares at an unseen crew member behind the camera lens and says: 'Could you leave please, you're right in my eyeline.'"
Other snippets from the same shoot have also come to light, including one in which Dunaway carps at a crew member for calling, "Action!" before she is ready.

A bit too emotional but not unreasonable in her demand

It was for the crew member's own safety. Had he stayed in her eyeline too long she may have been tempted to feed.

I love her attitude! She just takes charge in every interaction. I'm sure she'd be annoying on a daily basis though.

R9, the trouble is she’s violent and full-blown crazy. She just announced that she’s bipolar and suffers from serious mental illness.

I still have the scar above my left eye where I got nicked by a thrown VHS cassette. Didn't duck fast enough outside the Video West.

I saw the clip- not flattering. She has not received AFI or Kennedy Center recognitions as her body of work would otherwise merit. You have to conclude that her peers do not respect her and/or no one wants to deal with her.

Worked with her in the nineties for one day. She was tough but not unreasonable. Also, don’t fuck with an actor’s eyeline. She was right in that clip.

She was a very beautiful young woman, and into middle age still beautiful and fit. I never understood what happened to her bottom teeth. Maybe it was genetics, but her bottom teeth became discolored in the 1980’s. That was surprising because she was so fastidious in her appearance.

This clip is hilarious. It's like a parody of a bad director at work.

R19 Her teeth were always rough- and she said so at some point-- From the 70's on, she had discolored teeth- The bottoms were always gappy and pointy-

R19 it looks like she had full caps on her upper teeth but kept her lower teeth into her 40’s, and these lower teeth shifted. With cosmetic dentistry, there is a chain of events trying to maintain veneers, caps, implants and also trying to match remaining tissue (your own teeth with newer “cast” or manufactured ones, and the remnants of supportive dental tissue under caps and veneers).
My friend elected to have full veneers, then caps, to “correct” his smile line. These needed replacement in 20 years to the day. The process required a lot of restorative work to the “nubs” that anchored these cosmetic replacements. It cost $56,000 and will need to be redone in a decade, perhaps sooner. The teeth that were first etched, then shaved down, then ground down with each phase of the cosmetic dental work, were really healthy and had no cavities. Yet over time his gums receded and then all of the supportive structures (roots and jawbones) began to change in response to the foreign material introduced over the years. It’s expensive, elective misery.

I think the real reason she dislikes and regrets Mommy Dearest is because it was type casting.

She reminds me of a friend’s Bengal Cat. The cat was very striking looking, lithe, agile, and mysterious-looking.
But every so often it would revert to this really primal behavior and “bunny kick” your forearm leaving streaks of blood and it would bite hard between your thumb and forefinger, a “death bite” meant for prey. Faye was probably like that in (or perhaps just after) her prime.

Faye frequently used 'bunny kicks' while lying on her side in the front of her BMW punting case after case of VHS cassettes from the driver's side window in the parking lot of Video West...

Can confirm this. I've seen many "nice" actors get sharp when they are about to roll and some clueless below the line person is in their eye line. Not defending Dunaway in general, but this wasn't over the top
Same with Christian Bale and that famous video of him losing his shit. Bale was over the top, but the crew member had a history of fucking up actors concentration with unnecessary movement and pulling focus
