I'm aware of the need to be private. it's a well-known fact in the industry, that a lot of female casting directors would bypass a gay man in the lead. They want the idea of fucking them or do. I can't tell you how much this happens. How do I know? I was a working actor for years. Actors have to invest in their education, and promotion and be fluid in their regular employment, so they can book a job. I have quit 3 jobs over the years because of a long run or away in another state doing theatre. You are conditioned to drop everything if you book a job. I love the work and am glad to have had the opportunities but it is a difficult profession for anyone. Try adding the diminished jobs because of being openly gay.
