A delightful little interview!
Jessica Lange on Late Night with Seth Meyers (4/8/24)
by Anonymous | reply 58 | April 29, 2024 6:34 PM |
I love Jessica. Was watching Feud the other day and as good as Sarandon was, she still didn't come close to her....what an outstanding performance. How the FUCK did Nicole Kidman win against her. JFC.
by Anonymous | reply 1 | April 9, 2024 7:59 PM |
Is it because she's in heels but she seems to have difficulty walking and Meyers is wearing a hair piece now
by Anonymous | reply 2 | April 9, 2024 8:01 PM |
Dear Jessica,
Please STOP with the plastic surgery. You look horrible.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | April 9, 2024 8:22 PM |
Wow she really got pulled up and tight again. I thought it was Dietrich walking out, with the hair pins in the scalp.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | April 9, 2024 8:46 PM |
And Yes Seth's hairline is outrageous yet what remains is soooo thick and luxuriant.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | April 9, 2024 8:48 PM |
Does the Hair Department hate Seth? They couldn't blend the hair piece into his hair any better than that?
by Anonymous | reply 6 | April 9, 2024 8:53 PM |
Seth is so ugly. With his droopy eyes slipping off his face, he resembles Sloth from the Goonies. Truly a face for radio.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | April 9, 2024 8:54 PM |
He was a cutie at this age in the attached photo. He seems to have given up somewhat. He almost never dresses well. His body has gone slack and soft.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | April 9, 2024 9:07 PM |
What a fabulous head of hair Jessica has! Poor Meryl must be dying. Her hair was magnificent back in the 70s and look at it now.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | April 9, 2024 9:07 PM |
Mizz Lange looks ravishing.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | April 9, 2024 10:18 PM |
What is the tattoo on her left arm?
by Anonymous | reply 11 | April 9, 2024 11:10 PM |
Looks like a scary goblin, age 86!
by Anonymous | reply 12 | April 9, 2024 11:33 PM |
R11 Celtic knot.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | April 10, 2024 12:28 AM |
Tattoo: Jessica Lange has a Celtic knot moon tattoo on top of her left wrist.
Meaning: The tattoo is influenced by her daughter who convinced her to get matching tattoos so that they will stay connected forever.

It’s interesting. Her face looks like the Joker but she still looks like an old lady so that makes it less bad as Madonna?
by Anonymous | reply 15 | April 10, 2024 1:32 AM |
Do you mean "not as bad as Madonna's"?
by Anonymous | reply 16 | April 10, 2024 1:38 AM |
We've worked together and she has terrible arthritis in her hands and feet, hence the weird walking. Costumers had to give her special shoes and you will rarely see her barefoot anymore.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | April 10, 2024 3:10 AM |
I've always found her likeable.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | April 10, 2024 3:21 AM |
I hope she does okay in this new play. This is the most elderly and feeble I have ever seen her.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | April 10, 2024 3:28 AM |
They both look like they're wearing wigs.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | April 10, 2024 3:29 AM |

Especially with that freewheeling patio number.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | April 10, 2024 3:31 AM |
This month she'll be 75. She's on stage nonstop through the entire play. Few actresses have the stamina and the discipline to do that at her age. Lange deserves kudos just for getting her ass up there for at least five shows each week.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | April 10, 2024 4:08 AM |
R22 Really? There’s a lot of old actresses still working.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | April 10, 2024 4:25 AM |
She needed assistance from Seth just to get to a couch. She is very stiff for her age. I read some early reviews and they said the play was disconnected and Jessica hams it up. Sarah Paulson had a triumph with the play before this one.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | April 10, 2024 4:50 AM |
R23, I was referring to more than just working. In the last couple of years how many other actresses were over 75, had the main role in a Broadway or West End show, and were on stage through the entire play five or more times each week? I can't think of "a lot".
by Anonymous | reply 25 | April 10, 2024 5:28 AM |
Cicely Tyson and Elaine May both won Tony’s in the last 10 years or so as Best Actress in a play when they were in their 80s. Linda Lavin was nominated for The Lyons. I’d guess she was mid-70’s at the time.
That said, there are not a lot of plays where the lead actress is elderly. More likely, she’s a supporting character like Lois Smith in The Inheritance who also won a Tony.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | April 10, 2024 11:19 AM |
Is anyone going to see it? I worry for Jessica’s health if it flops.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | April 11, 2024 6:14 AM |
Didn't Vanessa Redgrave do one recently-ish?
by Anonymous | reply 28 | April 11, 2024 6:17 AM |
At $112 a seat … no.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | April 11, 2024 6:18 AM |
re R28 - checked - that was 2013.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | April 11, 2024 6:25 AM |
Jessica, The Divine

[quote]I worry for Jessica’s health if it flops.
The biggest threat to Jessica's health died in 2017. That and the the stairs he pushed her down right before the premiere of Grey Gardens in 2009.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | April 11, 2024 2:29 PM |
I read the comments before watching the clip. You are all such fucking liars! I expected her to be on her deathbed and carried by Seth to her seat. Instead, she looks incredibly chic and wearing heels for fuck’s sake.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | April 11, 2024 3:10 PM |
Though I'm not reading the most encouraging words in theatre chat rooms, this interview makes me want to see the play.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | April 11, 2024 3:22 PM |
Can you please bring 100 of your friends to every performance? We need to sell tickets and sales are poor.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | April 11, 2024 4:13 PM |
Attendance is at 99% of capacity. Hardly poor.

Jim Parson's TBBT fans, no doubt.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | April 12, 2024 8:46 PM |
Must be nice to be omniscient.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | April 12, 2024 10:04 PM |
R32 knows Jessica I suspect. There were 1-2 fellas here over the years who knew her. One I think attended an Academy Awards show with her in 1985 or so..
by Anonymous | reply 39 | April 13, 2024 12:17 AM |
She reminds me of something. Hmm.... Now what is it?
by Anonymous | reply 40 | April 13, 2024 12:39 AM |
R24, She was in a wheelchair just 3 months ago, so obviously she was still struggling to walk on two feet.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | April 27, 2024 10:49 PM |
This lady can do no wrong.
Go watch her interviews on Youtube about her photography-
I think one was at a university in chicago?
Any human being who admits to feeling a deep sense of loneliness their entire life is okay in my book.
She is an imperfect and stunning gem.

Oh, dear. Do you see your mistake, R26?
by Anonymous | reply 43 | April 27, 2024 11:49 PM |
She got Dallas Robverts fired freom The Glass Menagerie.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | April 27, 2024 11:49 PM |
She got Dallas Roberts fired from The Glass Menagerie.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | April 27, 2024 11:50 PM |
I think that is true- but it sounds like he was a nightmare.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | April 28, 2024 12:22 AM |
It is true, and where do you get that info, R46? I heard she was jealous that he would shine in their scenes at her expense.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | April 28, 2024 1:23 AM |
A (then) young actor out of Juilliard is going to be a troublemaker in his first Broadway show? I doubt that.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | April 28, 2024 1:24 AM |
R47- I read that unauthorized biography of Jessica.. It was pretty solid and the author was not kissing her ass..
by Anonymous | reply 49 | April 28, 2024 1:25 AM |
R42 All of this.
by Anonymous | reply 50 | April 28, 2024 2:32 AM |
R50, i feel you, baby!
She is my Top 10 favorite human of all time.
by Anonymous | reply 51 | April 28, 2024 2:39 AM |
R25 Is your point that she’s an old lady past retirement who keeps working because she’s in good health or that she’s an old lady still in demand?
Her career was revived by Ryan Murphy who’s also given other old ladies and aging Hollywood twinks - most all past their peak - a second chance at commercial success.
I’m not shitting on Jessica, I’m just saying what’s the big deal.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | April 28, 2024 3:08 AM |
She shitcanned me.
by Anonymous | reply 53 | April 28, 2024 3:10 AM |
Roberts looks like a drunk. Gin blossoms for days.
by Anonymous | reply 54 | April 28, 2024 4:56 AM |
[quote]Her career was revived by Ryan Murphy
Actually, I would give the initial credit to Michael Sucsy who hired her for Grey Gardens. That put her back on the gays' radar and Ryan took it to the cult goddess levels.
by Anonymous | reply 55 | April 28, 2024 2:21 PM |
If only she could be heard on a stage. Live theatre isn't a soundstage, dear.
by Anonymous | reply 56 | April 29, 2024 11:13 AM |
Dallas Roberts was talking her down at rehearsals, making fun of her inexperience on stage. She overheard him . Bye-bye, Dallas.
by Anonymous | reply 57 | April 29, 2024 6:31 PM |
Yeah, sure, R57, a young actor straight out of Juilliard would do that with one of his first major acting gigs. Bullshit. She thought he was going to steal their scenes together.
