I met & became very good friends with Allegra while she lived in Honolulu. We were pretty close, took me over to Tony's house a bunch of times. Tony was the nicest & most down to earth famous person Ive ever met. Had dinner @ his place when Jamie came to visit a few times. Allegra said Jamie "enjoyed" me..... We last saw each other 4 years ago in London, had a lovely day @ Borough Market, then dinner & theatre. She's doing well.

Jamie had a little something extra that her siblings didn't.

Kelly did act when she was younger. My partner was very good friends with her back in the day when they both studied with Lee Grant at the Actors Studio. She was very pretty, shy and if I recall correctly she was very affecting as Laura in The Glass Menagerie at the studio. I don't think she did much act much outside the actors studio.beyond a few small tv and film things. The thing I remember most clearly was her doing a stage production of On The Waterfront. The production started at The Cleveland Playhouse in 1988 and it was supposed to go to Broadway, but it was a bit tepid. I pulled out the playbill when I saw this thread. Kelly played Edie, the Eva Marie Saint Role and Grant Show was the Brando role also in the cast were James Riordan and Robert LuPone (Patti's brother and the original Zach in A Chorus Line. My partner saw it and said it was good but didn't cover any new ground..so he said it was sort of a "whats the point"

I find it interesting that you consider becoming a famous actor as having "made it," as though that's the ultimate goal of everyone. I frankly feel sorry for anybody who became an actor, because they have to keep hustling for approval and attention constantly. Look at the spectacle Jamie Lee made of herself in order to finally nab an Oscar, ultimately meaning... what? Will she be able to charge slightly more for her autograph at sci-fi/horror conventions?

What a life.

r10 here: Just wanted to add in response to why Kelly didn't "make it" My partner (who knew her) described Kelly as very shy and not really interested in stardom. After all, she grew up as the child of two of the biggest movie stars of the 50s, I don't think fame or its effects were a mystery to her. My partner said she was very dedicated to the studio method, had Lee Grant as a mentor and while she was good, she was not a flashy actor.

Well is she wasn't flashy, she wasn't watching Lee too closely, now was she?
