by Anonymous | reply 1 | April 5, 2024 2:26 PM |
Yes! I felt a tremor in my apt, 25th floor!
by Anonymous | reply 2 | April 5, 2024 2:26 PM |
it shook for a couple of seonds!
I remember the other one years ago was only for a nano second....
by Anonymous | reply 3 | April 5, 2024 2:27 PM |
Yes—no big deal. It would be just another tremor in L.A. Life goes on.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | April 5, 2024 2:28 PM |
Holy fuck. I thought my building's boiler was about to explode.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | April 5, 2024 2:29 PM |
Apparently it was centered about 20 miles away.
I thought there was a train going by my apartment, but when I looked, nothing.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | April 5, 2024 2:30 PM |
‘Splode.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | April 5, 2024 2:30 PM |
I’m Philadelphia area too. It was a big one, it lasted about qb seconds.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | April 5, 2024 2:31 PM |
Felt it here near Hartford CT. Thought it was the wind at first.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | April 5, 2024 2:32 PM |
I felt it. Thought I was imaging things.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | April 5, 2024 2:32 PM |
Friends in the Bronx really felt it.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | April 5, 2024 2:34 PM |
@r8, "4.8 in New Jersey? "
OMG, it was a fucking disaster!
by Anonymous | reply 13 | April 5, 2024 2:34 PM |
This is the earthquake before the big one during the solar eclipse. I pray for you all.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | April 5, 2024 2:35 PM |
yes, it's being reported that 4.8 rocked tri state area
by Anonymous | reply 16 | April 5, 2024 2:42 PM |
Felt it in Lancaster PA!
by Anonymous | reply 17 | April 5, 2024 2:44 PM |
It has a huge radius. People aren’t used to it. It was a good long 10-15 seconds.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | April 5, 2024 2:45 PM |
Bunch of pusssies—
by Anonymous | reply 19 | April 5, 2024 2:48 PM |
@r14, To all you eclipse freaks, an eclipse is a fucking shadow. That's it, it has no physical characteristics whatsoever. If you think an eclipse has any effect on a planet than you're afraid of your own shadow

Has anyone heard from the Yard Signs Troll?
by Anonymous | reply 21 | April 5, 2024 2:49 PM |
Sorry, Californian—not everyone lives in an area where seismic activity happens regularly. It’s exciting to us.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | April 5, 2024 2:50 PM |
This is the Mary! of all Oh, Mary! threads.
Get a grip—
by Anonymous | reply 23 | April 5, 2024 2:51 PM |
Some of you don’t seem to understand the word small.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | April 5, 2024 2:54 PM |
I disagree, ElderLez, many on The DL are small.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | April 5, 2024 2:55 PM |
Leave it to a bunch of gay men to make something small sound much bigger than it is.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | April 5, 2024 2:58 PM |
At first I thought it was a truck, but it sounded like the truck would have to have been too close for it to be that loud and vibrate like that.
Plus it went on longer than a couple of seconds and so I thought, OK it's an earthquake.
As R22 posted, "not everyone lives in an area where seismic activity happens regularly. It’s exciting to us."
So there!
by Anonymous | reply 28 | April 5, 2024 3:00 PM |
Everyone in the Northeast is talking about it—not just gay men.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | April 5, 2024 3:01 PM |
It felt like a huge HUGE worm traveling underground.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | April 5, 2024 3:01 PM |
Are we sure that Chris Christie and Donald Trump didn't just jump up and down simultaneously?
by Anonymous | reply 31 | April 5, 2024 3:01 PM |
NY Times alert:
BREAKING An earthquake shook buildings across the New York City region shortly after 10:20 a.m., according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

Make sure you walk without rhythm.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | April 5, 2024 3:22 PM |
Aftershock, anyone?
by Anonymous | reply 35 | April 5, 2024 10:05 PM |
Definitely felt a slight tremor here in Flatbush @ 6PM.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | April 5, 2024 10:09 PM |
According to X (formerly Twitter), it is considered a second quake, not an aftershock. It was a 4.4, so almost as strong as the first one.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | April 5, 2024 10:12 PM |
“Twitter” is not a source.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | April 5, 2024 10:15 PM |
I felt it!
what the fuck is going on?
by Anonymous | reply 39 | April 5, 2024 10:19 PM |
It’s a foreshock of the BIG ONE…run outside now, and wait. You’ll be more easily killed by flying bricks, and we won’t need to see your inane posts after that.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | April 5, 2024 10:22 PM |
Definitely felt the last one like 20 minutes ago but wasn’t as strong as the first (I was in the exact same location as the first one).
by Anonymous | reply 41 | April 5, 2024 10:24 PM |
by Anonymous | reply 42 | April 5, 2024 10:28 PM |
You read from time to time that some people say they enjoy minor earthquakes. What's up with that?
by Anonymous | reply 43 | April 5, 2024 10:29 PM |
A DL’er predicted a few days ago something big was gonna happen and some one else predicted an earthquake in which someone well known person would die. Waiting…
by Anonymous | reply 45 | April 5, 2024 10:37 PM |
David Muir said there's just been a 4.0 aftershock.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | April 5, 2024 10:39 PM |
The epicenter was quite close to Trump Bedminster.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | April 5, 2024 10:39 PM |
I live in NYC, but I’m from California, so this certainly wasn’t a big earthquake. YET…it was terrifying somehow. When it starts you don’t know that it isn’t the end of the world.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | April 5, 2024 10:47 PM |
What a California Mary!
Sounds like no one from CA that I know in NYC…
by Anonymous | reply 49 | April 5, 2024 10:53 PM |

What?
by Anonymous | reply 50 | April 5, 2024 10:56 PM |
I was on the LIRR and didn’t feel that second shock, but everyone’s phone went off which was startling in its own way.
by Anonymous | reply 51 | April 6, 2024 12:08 AM |

Did your horse and buggy turn over?
by Anonymous | reply 52 | April 6, 2024 12:22 AM |

The what?
by Anonymous | reply 53 | April 6, 2024 2:28 AM |
