by Anonymousreply 54April 6, 2024 2:37 AM

yes!!! I felt it!

by Anonymousreply 1April 5, 2024 2:26 PM

Yes! I felt a tremor in my apt, 25th floor!

by Anonymousreply 2April 5, 2024 2:26 PM

it shook for a couple of seonds!

I remember the other one years ago was only for a nano second....

by Anonymousreply 3April 5, 2024 2:27 PM

Yes—no big deal. It would be just another tremor in L.A. Life goes on.

by Anonymousreply 4April 5, 2024 2:28 PM

Holy fuck. I thought my building's boiler was about to explode.

by Anonymousreply 5April 5, 2024 2:29 PM

Apparently it was centered about 20 miles away.

I thought there was a train going by my apartment, but when I looked, nothing.

by Anonymousreply 6April 5, 2024 2:30 PM

‘Splode.

by Anonymousreply 8April 5, 2024 2:31 PM

I’m Philadelphia area too. It was a big one, it lasted about qb seconds.

by Anonymousreply 9April 5, 2024 2:31 PM

Felt it here near Hartford CT. Thought it was the wind at first.

by Anonymousreply 10April 5, 2024 2:32 PM

I felt it. Thought I was imaging things.

by Anonymousreply 11April 5, 2024 2:32 PM

Friends in the Bronx really felt it.

by Anonymousreply 12April 5, 2024 2:34 PM

@r8, "4.8 in New Jersey? "

OMG, it was a fucking disaster!

This is the earthquake before the big one during the solar eclipse. I pray for you all.

yes, it's being reported that 4.8 rocked tri state area

by Anonymousreply 16April 5, 2024 2:42 PM

Felt it in Lancaster PA!

by Anonymousreply 17April 5, 2024 2:44 PM

It has a huge radius. People aren’t used to it. It was a good long 10-15 seconds.

by Anonymousreply 18April 5, 2024 2:45 PM

Bunch of pusssies—

by Anonymousreply 19April 5, 2024 2:48 PM

@r14, To all you eclipse freaks, an eclipse is a fucking shadow. That's it, it has no physical characteristics whatsoever. If you think an eclipse has any effect on a planet than you're afraid of your own shadow

by Anonymousreply 20April 5, 2024 2:48 PM

Has anyone heard from the Yard Signs Troll?

by Anonymousreply 21April 5, 2024 2:49 PM

Sorry, Californian—not everyone lives in an area where seismic activity happens regularly. It’s exciting to us.

by Anonymousreply 22April 5, 2024 2:50 PM

This is the Mary! of all Oh, Mary! threads.

Get a grip—

by Anonymousreply 23April 5, 2024 2:51 PM

Some of you don’t seem to understand the word small.

by Anonymousreply 24April 5, 2024 2:54 PM

I disagree, ElderLez, many on The DL are small.

Leave it to a bunch of gay men to make something small sound much bigger than it is.

by Anonymousreply 27April 5, 2024 2:58 PM

At first I thought it was a truck, but it sounded like the truck would have to have been too close for it to be that loud and vibrate like that.

Plus it went on longer than a couple of seconds and so I thought, OK it's an earthquake.

As R22 posted, "not everyone lives in an area where seismic activity happens regularly. It’s exciting to us."

So there!

by Anonymousreply 28April 5, 2024 3:00 PM

Everyone in the Northeast is talking about it—not just gay men.

by Anonymousreply 29April 5, 2024 3:01 PM

It felt like a huge HUGE worm traveling underground.

by Anonymousreply 30April 5, 2024 3:01 PM

Are we sure that Chris Christie and Donald Trump didn't just jump up and down simultaneously?

by Anonymousreply 31April 5, 2024 3:01 PM

NY Times alert:

BREAKING An earthquake shook buildings across the New York City region shortly after 10:20 a.m., according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

Shut up, Timmo.

Make sure you walk without rhythm.

by Anonymousreply 34April 5, 2024 3:22 PM

Aftershock, anyone?

by Anonymousreply 35April 5, 2024 10:05 PM

Definitely felt a slight tremor here in Flatbush @ 6PM.

by Anonymousreply 36April 5, 2024 10:09 PM

According to X (formerly Twitter), it is considered a second quake, not an aftershock. It was a 4.4, so almost as strong as the first one.

by Anonymousreply 37April 5, 2024 10:12 PM

“Twitter” is not a source.

by Anonymousreply 38April 5, 2024 10:15 PM

I felt it!

what the fuck is going on?

by Anonymousreply 39April 5, 2024 10:19 PM

It’s a foreshock of the BIG ONE…run outside now, and wait. You’ll be more easily killed by flying bricks, and we won’t need to see your inane posts after that.

by Anonymousreply 40April 5, 2024 10:22 PM

Definitely felt the last one like 20 minutes ago but wasn’t as strong as the first (I was in the exact same location as the first one).

You read from time to time that some people say they enjoy minor earthquakes. What's up with that?

A DL’er predicted a few days ago something big was gonna happen and some one else predicted an earthquake in which someone well known person would die. Waiting…

by Anonymousreply 45April 5, 2024 10:37 PM

David Muir said there's just been a 4.0 aftershock.

by Anonymousreply 46April 5, 2024 10:39 PM

The epicenter was quite close to Trump Bedminster.

by Anonymousreply 47April 5, 2024 10:39 PM

I live in NYC, but I’m from California, so this certainly wasn’t a big earthquake. YET…it was terrifying somehow. When it starts you don’t know that it isn’t the end of the world.

by Anonymousreply 48April 5, 2024 10:47 PM

What a California Mary!

Sounds like no one from CA that I know in NYC…

by Anonymousreply 49April 5, 2024 10:53 PM

[quote] I’m Philadelphia area too. It was a big one, it lasted about qb seconds

What?

by Anonymousreply 50April 5, 2024 10:56 PM

I was on the LIRR and didn’t feel that second shock, but everyone’s phone went off which was startling in its own way.

by Anonymousreply 51April 6, 2024 12:08 AM

[quote]Felt it in Lancaster PA!

Did your horse and buggy turn over?

by Anonymousreply 52April 6, 2024 12:22 AM

The what?

by Anonymousreply 53April 6, 2024 2:28 AM

Long Island RR.
