He managed to wrangle the gig of hosting the Breakthrough Prize Ceremony, which just brought him back into town again. A seemingly unheard-of awards ceremony, that attracted a number of both tech and Hollywood celebrities to honor science & technology innovators.

Even though it looked pre-recorded, Corden's musical opening monologue is actually kind of impressive. My favorite part is when praising the inventor of Ozempic, the chorus repeats "discovering the drug that everyone of you is thinner from", it pans to the audience where Lauren Sanchez and Conehead Marc Andreessen both smile sheepishly, while palming their faces.

Btw, if he had been on his own Ozempic journey, it doesn't seem to have left a lasting impression.

R6 They didn't know him in the US, so he got a free pass at first. But as time progressed it was obvious to most that he was truly a shitty person. The only time I was able to make myself watch it was when he had that special show with Paul McCartney going back to his home in Liverpool.

Corden and Degeneres used to share the distinction of having the worst reputation when it came to their managerial practices in the workplace and of being utterly insufferable. I see no reason why he should have yet another chance?
