Boardwalk Empire star Michael Stuhlbarg is smacked in the back of the neck by rock-wielding homeless man near Central Park
Boardwalk Empire star Michael Stuhlbarg has been attacked by a rock-wielding homeless man near New York City's Central Park, according to police.
Stuhlbarg, 55, was approached seemingly at random by a homeless man in the Upper East Side on Sunday Night, the NYPD told DailyMail.com.
The actor was walking close to East 90th and East Drive around 7:45pm when Xavier Israel, 27, struck him in the back of his neck with a rock.
Police said Stuhlbarg 'received medical attention at the scene' for 'minor injuries'.
Stuhlbarg chased after Israel following the attack, and cops who were stationed outside the Russian consulate at 9 E 91 Street apprehended him, according to the New York Post.
Israel, who is homeless, was taken into custody and charged with assault.
He has previously been arrested for two assaults and a robbery in January 2022, cops confirmed.
In one incident that month, he knocked a 59-year-old man to the ground and mugged him after the man tried to offer him a coat amid freezing temperatures.
Israel was also arrested for attacking another person who offered him help - a 49-year-old woman, and for allegedly beating up two 18-year-olds in Central Park.

[post redacted because linking to dailymail.co.uk clearly indicates that the poster is either a troll or an idiot (probably both, honestly.) Our advice is that you just ignore this poster but whatever you do, don't click on any link to this putrid rag.]

Isn't a man getting brutally attacked by a homeless man late at night in Central Park usually code for something?

Because it could have killed him you nitwit. A punch in the face does not kill you.

the guy's homeless. He goes to jail for this, he gets a roof over his head, medical dental, three meals a day a flushing toilet and a daily shower...and all the sex he can handle. What's the problem?

What did Stuhlbarg plan to do to him if he caught him?

Aren’t New Yonkers scared to leave the house now? It seems like a free for all of violence.

R18. Well, in addition to anything else, it’s the autonomic system kicking in. Why assume it was a particularly conscious or strategic plan to pursue his assailant?

CNN did a segment on high end thieves out west. There's apparently a gang from Chile that breaks in to wealthy people's homes a robs them. Burglars.

I think this will help Michael segue into a middle aged relatable action star. It might make a cool television series, like The Love Boat, where all the people Michael has worked with will be in New York for some fascinating project, then walk home at night, and are mugged by interesting thug characters, from all the villains in his films.

Michael does pretty well as a character actor. He's very good.
