Which makes sense, since he’s so busy now and has wanted out of Euphoria since after season 1. He HATED filming season 2. Im not shocked at all that he would ask for less to do so he can film other stuff at the same time. It’s probably the only way they could get him back.
Blind Item Video!- Jacob Elordi’s role as Nate Jacobs will be cut down drastically for season 3 of Euphoria

Makes sense. Most of the cast is pretty busy with other projects, and Jacob seems like the type to now think he's above the show because of "Saltburn" and his Elvis movie. I think season three will happen since HBO and Zendaya seem pretty committed to it.
by Anonymous | reply 1 | March 24, 2024 12:06 AM |
Zendaya isn’t committed to it. They had to up her pay to $1 million per episode to get her to come back. She didn’t wanna come back. She’s busy filming movies and making millions per film now.

R1 Jacob thought he was above the show since before even filming those movies! Numerous A-Listers watch the show and have reached out to him or approached him. I just know Leo telling him he’s a fan of the show made him think it’s because of him!

I think he enjoyed filming season 1 (or at least liked what it did for his career) but you could tell he didn’t like filming season 2. The filming schedules were grueling and Levinson was always winging shit.
“Sources also told The Daily Beast that Ferreira was far from the only one who had issues with the season’s production. One of the main bones of contention were the gruelingly long workdays that could stretch anywhere from 15 to 17 hours. Sources detailed how Levinson rarely came to set with a shot list—a detailed account of every camera shot the director wants during scenes and helps keep the production running smoothly—which often factored into the long set days.
Shooting the premiere’s New Year’s Eve party scene was particularly hellish, sources claimed, as the filming stretched out for over a week and only occurred at night. Even some of the cast noted it was particularly rough. Apatow, the daughter of actress Leslie Mann and filmmaker Judd Apatow, said they were essentially shooting from dusk to dawn. “We shot all night, so we would start at 6pm and go until whenever the sun would rise—5am—and we were so tired,” she told Thrillist. “We were trying so hard to stay awake!”
Elordi was less diplomatic. “The thing is, we do it for so long,” he said. “We shot that party for over a week, so very quickly it’s like being in Hell. It’s like being in a party that you don’t want to be in. At all. And you can’t wait [to leave].”

And then he came out and said Euphoria season 2 scripts kept changing, sometimes numerous times a day. Levinson really seems to be all over the place.

I think younger actors now don't care about the security and longevity of a series. They'd much rather stretch their wings and do various projects. When Jeremy Allen White booked THE BEAR he spoke of how he felt SHAMELESS went on too long and it gets boring playing the same role. Elordi has likely decided film is where it's at form him, even if he does shitty one like HE WENT THAT WAY with Zachary Quinto.

R7 his career has taken off recently. He would rather focus on new projects than this. As r1 stated, he definitely feels he’s above this one. He is now starring in films and just finished filming the lead of a new miniseries.
On top of being booked and busy, he hated filming season 2. He probably doesn’t wanna deal with that again.

I didn't know that show was coming back, seems like a long time since it's been on. I like the character Maddy.

Didn't S2 get fucked because of whatever happened between Schafer, Elordi, and Zendaya? And Levinson allowed them too much say in what their characters would do. It's why we ended up with Nate obsessed with Cassie, even though he basically despised her, or at least didn't think much of her, in S1.

Has he presented cock?
Hole?
by Anonymous | reply 12 | March 24, 2024 10:06 PM |
Yes, R11, the drama between those three influenced the direction of season two pretty heavily. The original plan, according to rumors, was for Nate to start hooking up with Jules. But Jacob and his team thought the idea of him being with a trans person would damage his career (or something to that effect). There was also Zendaya and Jacob's brief relationship, which didn't end well, that came into play. So Sam turned to Sydney, who had no problems filming with Jacob, and their characters got together even though it contradicted season one quite a bit.

[quote]Which makes sense, since he’s so busy now and has wanted out of Euphoria since after season 1. He HATED filming season 2.
So, he got what he could from it, then wanted to move on - same as what he did with those awful Kissing Booth movies. First starring role that is the ONLY reason he got Euphoria in the first place, but couldn't even be gracious.
I despise actors who shit on the vehicles which made them famous or gave them their big break. Do I think they "owe" anything - nothing more than basic graciousness. Don't shit on it or talk poorly about it. Don't whine about the quality of the script. Do the promo stuff as agreed and be gracious. He wouldn't have gotten Saltburn or Elvis without Euphoria.
A lot of other people behind the cameras depend on shows like Euphoria. Don't set yourself on fire, but don't be an jackass about it either.

I think Jacob has potential ngl. I wasn’t super passionate about Saltburn or Priscilla, but I think he was the MVP of both movies.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | March 24, 2024 10:16 PM |
R11 Cassie was obsessed with Nate. He wasn’t obsessed with her. He liked that he had full control of her.

I was just reading on Reddit that there’s a rumor that S3 got canceled this past Friday. An unverified rumor. The show’s momentum kinda got fucked by Covid, and now most of the main cast have bigger projects on the go. I imagine it would be difficult timing filming with all the main actors in place. If there’s anS3 I’ll watch it, but if not, meh. I won’t miss it, either. Too much time has gone by, and there was such a huge disconnect between the first two seasons.

There have been rumors it’s secretly canceled for months, on and off. If they don’t start filming in May like there supposed to (this is legit like the 7th time the show is supposed to start filming and it always gets pushed back) I can see it getting canned all together.
Season 3 jumps forward a few years, past college life. Season 3 we will be greeted with the characters now in their early 20s and some live in different cities etc. I think Levinson is doing it like this not only to age the characters because the actors are clearly older now, but because this allows them to film separately and don’t all have to be available at the same time to film.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | March 24, 2024 10:39 PM |
Also, season 3 will bring back the format of season 1, where each episode will start with a backstory for each character. The backstory will catch us up on what happened to them and what they’ve been up to since we last saw them in season 2.

Jacob is thrilled they’re doing a time jump for season 3.

How do contracts address this? You'd think the main cast would be locked down contractually and required to do it.
I recall that Emily Blunt was forced contractually to do Gulliver's Travels and had to give up other roles she really wanted because of her contract she signed when she did another movie. If they can do that, you'd think a series would include a lockdown requirement to force them to do it.

Unless there’s a time limit, R22.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | March 24, 2024 10:59 PM |
R22 It’s just a rumor. But if true there can be many reasons why HBO canned it, whether it be time limits to get it done by or budgets etc. or just getting the cast free. They’re busy. Season 2’s massive success really kicked off most of their careers big time.

I'm sure Leo jerked off to Nate's scenes. If offered, Jacob would give him a live performance of a nude Nate Jacobs. Preferably on one of Leo's diesel guzzling yachts.

I was just reading a comment from a season 2 extra on TikTok saying that the Euphoria season 2 set was HELL. Tons of drama and egos behind the scenes. Crazy work hours too. The extras were treated like shit.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | March 24, 2024 11:38 PM |
r7 what security can you get from a series in 2024? Someone mentioned that in the 2000s teen shows were 24 episodes long, now the average show is 6-8, 10 if you're lucky. It can take 3-4 seasons to even get 1 seasons worth of content. For actors, that's not much in pay because we know the stuiods are still paying the same per episode rates depending on the actor's HW value. So the kids on The OC making $150k or something an episode for 2.5 seasons with 24 episodes each did a lot better then actors today doing 6 episodes a season (Euphoria) for $150k.
And, they used to be shooting seasons as they air with 3-4 month break before starting up the next season, so work and schedules were consistent. Now these pitiful excuses for shows won't air another season for 1.5-2.5 years, for a simple 6-8 episode season.
The studios have lost their damn minds and the actors have lost out on consistent & reliable work. So yes, if you can snag movie deals before those collapse, you do it because unless you are a lead commanding $500k or more per episode, you are in for a rough ride.
Note: Snagging these shows at their salaries is better then not having them, but the studios show zero loyalty to the craft which is why the Elordis & Zendaya's don't stick around.

I don’t know why any of the main cast would come back. They all have actual leading films careers besides the Apatow spawn.

Actors sign these things called contracts r28. If the powers that be want to push on with another season with them, then their asses don't have a choice.

R28 she’s been leading in theatre, bud. She went the stage route instead of film route. She was in Little Shop of Horrors in NYC for a bit before landing the lead in Cabaret out on the West End.

Variety has confirmed S3 is delayed.
“HBO and Sam Levinson remain committed to making an exceptional third season,” an HBO spokesperson told Variety. “In the interim, we are allowing our in-demand cast to pursue other opportunities.”
The scripts for Season 3 are still being written. The news comes after a report that the show’s third season has been scrapped entirely.
Production on the show’s third season had long been delayed, in part due to the Hollywood strikes and the July 2023 death of Angus Cloud, who played local drug dealer Fez. The show has also launched most of its cast — including Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney and Hunter Schafer — into the upper echelon of Hollywood, making it harder to coordinate production schedules.

HBO delayed it AGAIN because Sam Levinson still hasn’t finished with the scripts. He’s had over TWO YEARS to write them and still hasn’t.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | March 25, 2024 4:11 PM |
Of course Sam Levinson hasn't written the damn scripts yet. From all reports he has normally operated as just making up stuff as they film. HBO most be so frustrated with him.

Season 2 aired from January to February of 2022. It’s been over 2 years since it ended. Season 3 was renewed then. How the fuck has he not written the episodes yet? I’m shocked HBO puts up with his shit.

Isn't the issue that the delay has forced them to make concessions to various cast members with regard to the filming schedule, necessitating a fairly expansive rewrite and rejiggering of the scripts?
