The diaries chronicle two critical years as the singer launched her career with everybody, while her friend watched, traveled with and supported her. The diaries had a ‘self portrait’ the singer drew of herself in her friend’s journal, plus the BFF names many, many names that they partied with, secret agreements, lies she told, etc. in the pages.
Six months later, the singer purchased the diaries for $400,000 and destroyed them. What she doesn't realize is there are two people who have copies of some of the pages of the diaries. Before she bought them, the man went on an entertainment show to talk about finding the diaries. And the producers made photocopies of pages that they still have today. ”
I bet those diaries had all the real tea about what Madge was willing to do to launch her career.

Meh. One of my boyfriends squatted with Madonna around Pratt in Brooklyn and was friends with her for several years back then. He has nothing scandalous or nefarious to report. Just another dead broke and ambitious creative type, always on the make, constantly flitting through pursuits and styles, and finding people to collab with. Story as old as time.

“What you see is what you get with Madonna” is a massive lie. Madonna had to fuck DJs to get her songs on the radio and there was a lot going on she doesn’t want out. She also had terrible hygiene and made up a lot of lies to make headlines.

I also doubt young Madonna ever lived with anyone for 2 years as she flitted about to whatever cheap or FREE digs she could find or sponge. My friend later squatted a bank in Brooklyn and Madonna squatting in Queens with a guy she was fucking.

Actually, she DIDN’T fuck DJs to get her songs played. Read the very serious new book about her from a very serious journalist. Madonna and her best friend would actually get upset stomachs thinking their dates would want sex after going out. They weren’t that into it. It is well chronicled and well researched. Actually, Dan Gilroy, her actual boyfriend of two years, said she had impeccable hygiene.
She also met and had dinner with Al Pacino before she was famous, though not as a date. Madonna’s friend’s dad took them to dinner with Pacino. 1979. Al found her amusing, spirited, funny, silly, and annoying.
