I initially read the thread title as "Dan Stevens's new book" and couldn't have been less interested.

I clicked on every pic in this thread and no sign of giant hips R22. No sign whatsoever.

IMO, he and the actress who played Sybil (who pinged) were pretty weak as actors. They both left after maybe 2 or 3 seasons. Julian Fellowes was reportedly upset with both of them for leaving.

Dan's last scene involved his head under the wheel (not the steering wheel) of a car, a la Phil Leotardo (Sopranos). The actress who played Sybil died during childbirth and looked absolutely horrible in her final scenes. (She was probably the most conventionally attractive female actor in DA.)

He looked better with blonde hair, IMO. Yes, he has lost quite a bit of weight.

Now from a neurodivergent perspective, I can see him choosing to do this because he does not want his toes touching the toecap of his shoe. Given that it’s unlikely his feet are this big, there’s probably a good inch of toe wiggling room in there.

Also in that third season shakeup, Siobhan Finneran left. She said in an interview that she made it clear from the start she would only sign on for three seasons.

Dan Stevens said that he was willing to make do partial seasons but Fellowes just killed him off.

1). I do wish I could carry off clothes as he does, though you all think he looks foolish. Sometimes he does, sometimes not.

I have to say, the yellow suit looks fantastic on him. I can't think of anyone, except for Jim Carrey in The Mask, who could pull that off.

R38 neurodivergence is oddness or eccentricity with a logic behind it. As I said, I don’t think it’s neurodivergence because he sits and converses very neurotypically.

But, that detail about the shoes stuck out to me. He makes a concerted effort to match his nail polish to his outfit, so it’s odd for me that he would not be wearing matching shoes.

If it was true that she only wanted to do 3 seasons, then that was her decision. But it seems like there was more the story than that. She is leaving something out and should just STFU instead of giving half a story.

That said, hers was a great character, esp. in combo with Thomas.

Her point was Julian Fellowes got pissy with her when she wanted out after three seasons. She played a great character but it wasn’t going to go anywhere. She was also doing the show Benidorm. You’ll notice the following season there’s an unidentified actress who leaves a note and runs away. He kept hoping until the first day of filming that she would return.
