Billy Baldwin threatens Sharon Stone after she names producer pressure to fuck him
Not sure why Sharon Stone keep talking about me all these years later?
Does she still have a crush on me or is she still hurt after all these years because I shunned her advances?
Did she say to her gal pal Janice Dickinson the day after I screen tested and ran into them on our MGM Grand flight back to New York… "I'm gonna make him fall so hard for me, it's gonna make his head spin." ???
I have so much dirt on her it would make her head spin but I've kept quiet.
The story of the meeting I had with Bob Evans imploring him allow me to choreograph the final sex scene in the photo below so I wouldn't have to kiss Sharon is absolute legend.
Wonder if I should write a book and tell the many, many disturbing, kinky and unprofessional tales about Sharon?
That might be fun.

There’s a fascinating recent episode of Karina Longworth’s excellent Hollywood history podcast You Must Remember This all about Sharon Stone and Sliver… apparently, Stone contractually forbade producer Robert Evans to ever be in 100 yards of her and was not allowed on set, despite him ultimately being in charge. It was her follow-up to Basic Instinct and she had a lot of power to wield at that specific moment in time. Surely, if Billy Baldwin was so unseemly then she could have gotten another actor cast for the role; maybe it was Evans’ fuck-you to keep him once she had signed on.

A director asking you to actually have sex with your co-star onscreen is pretty noteworthy as an actress. She went pretty hard on Billy's lack of talent, but if she decided to tell the story she had to say that part to make sense, i.e., he was so bad that the film was sinking and the director was desperate to find a way to quickly make him a good actor. It's understandable that he's upset because of the insults, but it's her story to tell, if true.
(I've never seen him act, but it's easy to believe he isn't very talented.)

It’s strange that anyone was even interested in filming the property SLIVER. The story isn’t very arresting. It’s by Ira Levin, but it’s no ROSEMARY’S BABY or STEPFORD WIVES. Or even A KISS BEFORE DYING.

Jeez, that's the typical distance on restraining orders. He was a sleaze, but did he specifically do something to Stone to warrant that? That was 1993, so Billy was 30 years old. I was assuming he was in his very early 20's and was maybe new to acting. He should have been a better actor by then. He must have been riding Alec's coattails in getting those casting opportunities.

The truth, as in most situations, is somewhere in the middle. Sharon is a bit of a fabulist at times, but I have no problem believing Evans told her to fuck Baldwin. In fact, I'd be surprised if she's lying about that. Baldwin and Sharon famously did not get along. Phil Noyce, the director, had another actor (a theater actor about Baldwin's age) in mind for Baldwin's role.. he was not the physical stunner Baldwin was at that age, but he was an excellent actor and sexy in his way, quirky good looking, also unknown. Evans wanted Baldwin because he thought he was sex on a stick and reminded him of himself he acknowledged the limitations of Baldwin's acting but thought looks and sex were more important to the role. Evans fought with Noyce and tried to prevent Noyce's choice from, if I recall correctly, even testing with Sharon. Sharon and Baldwin got off on the wrong foot because she thought he was arrogant and couldn't act his way out of a paper bag. Sharon had a huge success with Basic Instinct and had been banging around the edges of stardom for years, so she was really (as the kids say) feeling herself and didn't hide her disdain for Baldwin as an actor. I think Baldwin was intimidated by the situation and by Sharon and turned all his insecurities into dislike for her. She was a bitch to him, but she had reasons to be concerned about whether he was up to the part. After shooting started, she heard about the other choice Noyce and maybe Esterhaus had pushed for. Cathy Sandrich, the casting director had found him I think. That's when Sharon went full bitch mode " You mean you had a REAL actor who could have done this and you chose this guy... etc. " The movie was so bad none of it ended up mattering but it did make money.. just not as much as they anticipated

Robert Evans, sleaze he might be, WAS responsible for a great number of classic films being produced. He was from the lost era of sleazes having taste, something that died with Weinstein. All the creeping with none of the creative benefits…

Sharon should have stuck with this genre - in which she excelled- instead of trying to be a real actress.

Sharon’s headspace seems to be eternally stuck in 1992-1995, when she was at her peak in looks and stardom. All of her fantastical stories seem to be from that short period of time, which must be quite nostalgic for her.
My favorite is when she was nominated for the Best Actress Oscar for “Casino.” According to Sharon, she was all but guaranteed to win Best Supporting Actress, but it was better to go for and lose Best Actress than to win Best Supporting because it’s more prestigious to lose one than win the other. Why the fuck she ever thought being a loser is better than being a winner is a head scratcher. She could have always had “Oscar winner” before her name and I don’t think Clooney, Downey Jr. or any number of other stars are complaining about that honor.
She’s still rationalizing this decision almost 30 years later. It’s obvious she regrets it. But I’m sure the story will change again, with the studio or some executive forcing her into the category against her wishes and then trying to make love to her after.
The truth is but clay to Sharon, always ready to be reshaped into something new and entertaining.
Never change.

The plot for the book describes the character as a “young man.” Sharon and Alec are the same age, and he doesn’t fit the description the way it’s told by the plot. It seems more tailored for Billy at the time.

As publicity for SLIVER’S release, Stone was on the cover of Premiere magazine. She was interviewed going through black bras with a friend, choosing one for a scene where that would be her entire top.

When I was a shopbottom at Neiman Marcus, Beverly Hills ('93-'97), Billy came in one day, in a light colored suit, with his shirt unbuttoned enough to show some chest hair. Strolled right up to my counter, put both hands wide out on it, leaned over and asked me something. I do not remember what he asked me, because he was unbelievably sexy- light colored eyes fringed with dark lashes, more chest hair....ooooh.
Later in my 2nd career, I was working on an indie, and a person had entered the room, behind me. I knew it was, "someone" - you could feel the energy . I turned around, and it was Sharon Stone, whom I found out was one of the producers. That woman has charisma in buckets, and you can't stop looking at her.

It really was brief. She was A+ for barely two years, between Basic Instict and The Specialist in 1994.
Then the ultra-short prestige phase with Casino 1995.
Then it was back to B-movies like Sphere in 1998, and that terrible remake of Gloria.

I think she got demanding and self indulgent for a few years after BASIC INSTINCT because she’d been in movies for a decade but only done supporting roles in middling films and leads in crappy ones. So when stardom hit she went a little freewheeling power mad for a bit.
Still, she didn’t do anything worse than most male stars do, though.

"Diabolique... she was a nightmare on that production"
I always wonder what this would entail. Wouldn't she come out of her trailer? Did she hurl herself on the ground in tantrums?... Or did she just expect professionalism? It was filmed in Pennsyltucky; maybe the crew thought it was a schlock horror film and were slacking.

[quote]Stone didn’t want the younger Baldwin brother to play her mysterious seducer in the sexually charged “Sliver,” In fact, she reportedly wished she could have worked instead with his more famous and accomplished older brother, Alec Baldwin. “He’s a boy,” Stone complained about Billy Baldwin to Joe Eszterhas
[quote]“Give me a man. Give me Alec. I’d let Alec throw me over a table anytime,” Stone told Eszterhas
[quote]Baldwin reportedly quipped to a crew member after finishing a love scene with Stone: “Thin lips, OK breath.”
Billy wasn't "a boy". He was 30 and only five years younger than her (and Alec). Anyway, he must be hating this revival of her low opinion of him as an actor.

I highly doubt it. Sharon can't hold water she would have told us by now. She also made a good point about Baldwin and actors in general. If you really know how to act then just act. You don't need to actually have sex with your co-star to be convincing, although many actors indulge anyway.
