Jake Lloyd, who played little Anakin Skywalker in Episode I, has been in a Psych Ward for the past 10 months

Allegedly he had a serious psychotic break and was checked into a Mental Health Facility and has been there for 10 months now.

Needed his MK-ULTRA booster treatment.

by Anonymousreply 1March 12, 2024 10:49 PM

Weird I remember seeing the movie when it came out but for some reason I always just assumed it was Haley Joel osment that played Anakin m

by Anonymousreply 2March 12, 2024 10:49 PM

Yippeee!!

by Anonymousreply 3March 12, 2024 10:50 PM

His crappy acting in Star Wars Phantom Menace, sent ME to the psych ward.

He sucked that badly!

by Anonymousreply 4March 12, 2024 10:51 PM

He was a very annoying little kid.

by Anonymousreply 5March 12, 2024 10:52 PM

R2 everyone knows it wasn’t him. Idiot.

by Anonymousreply 6March 12, 2024 10:52 PM

Well, it looks like his parents were brother and sister.

by Anonymousreply 7March 12, 2024 10:55 PM

Well that's very sad. I hope the in-patient treatment helps him.

by Anonymousreply 8March 12, 2024 10:56 PM

You don't go to movies much do ya R2.

by Anonymousreply 9March 12, 2024 11:06 PM

"[His mother] Lisa recounted how Jake, now 35, expressed a desire to turn off the car, and unsettlingly, proceeded to carry out the act while they were in the middle of 3 lanes of traffic ... leading to a tumultuous exchange of yelling and screaming between Jake and her."

WTF? Poor guy. Poor mom!

Sounds like bipolar disorder.

by Anonymousreply 10March 12, 2024 11:12 PM

He was absolutely tortured after his Star Wars gigs. Terrible to do that - just a child.

by Anonymousreply 11March 12, 2024 11:14 PM

R2 The Sixth Sense and Episode 1 came out the same year. No way you thought that was the same kid. They don’t look alike and one was raved by viewers and critics and Hollywood for his phenomenal performance while everyone shit all over the other for not being able to act.

by Anonymousreply 12March 12, 2024 11:17 PM

[quote] Allegedly he…was checked into a Mental Health Facility and has been there for 10 months now.

Meesa so happy for you, Ani!

by Anonymousreply 13March 12, 2024 11:18 PM

I cannot imagine how horrible the "audition" process is for little children in Hollywood. So many boys are prey. So many suicides.

by Anonymousreply 14March 12, 2024 11:24 PM

Nutso, he is.

by Anonymousreply 15March 12, 2024 11:25 PM

It's all those damn Midichlorians messing with his brain!

by Anonymousreply 16March 12, 2024 11:29 PM

Isn’t it unusual to be inpatient for 10 months?

by Anonymousreply 17March 13, 2024 12:11 AM

R6 made me laugh. I love you, you dick.

by Anonymousreply 18March 13, 2024 12:20 AM

R10, he’s been diagnosed as a paranoid schizophrenic. He’s very seriously ill.

by Anonymousreply 19March 13, 2024 12:21 AM

R19 where does it say that?

by Anonymousreply 20March 13, 2024 12:24 AM

R12 you don't know what I remember and what I don't so f*** off. In my head as much as I remember watching that movie at all because I was so bored at the time I still think it was that kid that played him and not the other one so shut the fuck up.

R6. I didn't say anybody else remembered it what way I said I did you dumb f***.

by Anonymousreply 21March 13, 2024 12:43 AM

[quote]R10], he’s been diagnosed as a paranoid schizophrenic. He’s very seriously ill.

I wouldn’t wish that on my worst enemy.

by Anonymousreply 22March 13, 2024 12:43 AM

R22 no article claims that. I’ve been looking. I asked the retard to share where he got that info from but he hasn’t shared…. I wonder why.

by Anonymousreply 23March 13, 2024 12:45 AM

[quote] cannot imagine how horrible the "audition" process is for little children in Hollywood. So many boys are prey. So many suicides.

I knew someone whose son was up for the role of the son in the movie Signs. He made it to the final auditions and his mom said they were extremely nice to him and explained to him that ‘his’ dog dies in the movie but that the dog will be fine IRL and if he has a pet he doesn’t have to imagine what it would be like if his pet own died if it upset him. She said they were almost overprotective of him.

Anyway, one of the Culkin kids got the role, so nepotism won in the end.

by Anonymousreply 24March 13, 2024 12:49 AM

R19 where is that info from… we want to see this info. Otherwise it’s another serious lie…

by Anonymousreply 25March 13, 2024 12:53 AM

R24 that’s all made up.

by Anonymousreply 26March 13, 2024 12:54 AM

He's been diagnosed as schizophrenic.

In this case, I'm on the side of leave him alone.

by Anonymousreply 27March 13, 2024 12:54 AM

That’s kinda sad. Especially cuz I just finished Hidden Valley Road.

by Anonymousreply 28March 13, 2024 12:54 AM

R27 WHERE is this diagnosis? You keep saying it without a source…

by Anonymousreply 29March 13, 2024 12:58 AM

And then replying to yourself like at r28. Where is the source of the diagnosis?

by Anonymousreply 30March 13, 2024 12:58 AM

I mean, it's in the article

Hearing a jumble of incoherent speech is often associated with conditions like schizophrenia, which Jake was diagnosed with back in 2008.

by Anonymousreply 31March 13, 2024 1:05 AM

R31 the article does not say that. It doesn’t mention schizophrenia at all….

by Anonymousreply 32March 13, 2024 1:08 AM

ok, sorry. I got confused and pulled that copy/paste out of my ass.

by Anonymousreply 33March 13, 2024 1:39 AM

Speaking of paranoid schizophrenia…

by Anonymousreply 34March 13, 2024 1:45 AM

[quote] Jake, who was diagnosed with schizophrenia in 2008, was admitted to a hospital later that day. A few months later, he entered the rehabilitation facility for an 18-month stay.

[quote] “He didn’t tell us he was hearing voices at the time. But he was,” she recalled. “When they finally told him [he was schizophrenic], it totally threw him off into an even worse depression. It was really hard.”

"Schizophrenia" is being challenged as a diagnosis. See link.

Psychology is sometimes a game of semantics. Bipolar disorder can be characterized by psychotic breaks and paranoia as well.

It's not like a hard science where you can diagnose someone with a microscope.

[quote][R27] WHERE is this diagnosis? You keep saying it without a source…

Well, I only wrote it once in r27, but it's in multiple articles - the source is his mother.

by Anonymousreply 38March 13, 2024 2:36 AM

Ooooo the bigsa bad maxi schizophrenia!

I-sa a speakin' to the entity inside Ani. Who-sa is a you-sa?

by Anonymousreply 39March 13, 2024 2:53 AM

Children should never be in movies or ads. They should use AI generated young people. Parents should be ashamed.

by Anonymousreply 40March 13, 2024 2:56 AM

Was it the pod race?

by Anonymousreply 41March 13, 2024 3:14 AM

[quote] R24] that’s all made up.

No it’s not.

But it wasn’t Hollywood. It was Pennsylvania. We all lived in NY so it was a lot easier for his parents to take him there and back for auditions than to Hollywood.

by Anonymousreply 42March 13, 2024 3:51 AM

r39 That's already been done, sweetie.

by Anonymousreply 45March 13, 2024 6:11 AM

Wait- Anakin Skywalker is Teacake?

by Anonymousreply 46March 13, 2024 6:13 AM

The first article I ran into this morning featuring this story had a picture of Hayden Christensen at the top, whom some idiot had mistaken for Jake Lloyd.

by Anonymousreply 47March 13, 2024 12:26 PM

Oh, forget about him. I played Space Virgin Mary!

by Anonymousreply 48March 13, 2024 2:41 PM

This is NOT pod racing.

by Anonymousreply 49March 13, 2024 3:21 PM

[quote] The Sixth Sense and Episode 1 came out the same year. No way you thought that was the same kid.

Not every gay man’s life revolves around the silver screen.

by Anonymousreply 50March 13, 2024 4:14 PM

As The DL makes abundantly clear, mental illness is rife nowadays. I hope he improves.

by Anonymousreply 51March 13, 2024 4:17 PM

He looks very different. One of the articles mentioned his mom bringing him a Star Wars action figure in the hospital.

Schizophrenia meds make you gain weight, r52. It's bad if he has voice crises, my sister was (for lack of a better description) committed when she was 21 or 23, has voice crises, and has been in an care facility for almost half her life now. She gets periods where she's lucid, gets off her meds, then goes so ballistic that they have to transfer her to another facility, without telling us. During her ballistic times, she blames us for whatever and will be incommunicado usually for 3 years or more. Both of her parents are dead (we share a father), so she's basically a ward of the state.

by Anonymousreply 53March 13, 2024 4:33 PM

[quote] He looks very different.

He looks like an Ewok now.

by Anonymousreply 54March 13, 2024 4:45 PM

Ewoks sounds like a term for gay Star Wars bears. I think he looks good.

by Anonymousreply 55March 13, 2024 5:05 PM

Bingo R14 He was probably sauced and tossed before he even knew men put penises in assholes or understood why they do that. It's no wonder he's so fucked up in the head.

by Anonymousreply 56March 13, 2024 5:12 PM

This story makes me very sad.

by Anonymousreply 57March 13, 2024 5:29 PM

R28 Thanks for mentioning that book, I look forward to getting to read the whole thing after looking up the title.

by Anonymousreply 58March 13, 2024 9:22 PM

Jake is just a simple man trying to make his way in the universe.

by Anonymousreply 59March 14, 2024 12:16 AM

Buck never would have been in the hospital. And even that other son was only in for four months.
