Sen. Chris Murphy, about the Senate immigration bill: "The border never closes".
Sen. Lankford, about the same bill: "This is not about letting 5,000 people in a day. ... This is set up for, if you have a rush of people coming at the border, the border closes down. No one gets in."
Sen. Murphy spoke the truth to the American people. Sen. Lankford just out and out lies about it. Is it any wonder that his fellow Republicans feel they can no longer trust him?

It wasn't a bad deal it was a compromise but if you are a Zero Sum Republican asshole, it was a bad deal because everybody suffered a little.
Progressives hurled at it because it had no road to citizenship for parolees, refugees and DACA recipients.
