Second set of human remains found at Long Island, NY, park: Officials
BABYLON, N.Y. (PIX11) – Two sets of human remains were found in a Long Island park on Thursday, authorities announced on Friday.
Police discovered a head, leg, and arm — all belonging to an unidentified woman — scattered on the east and west ends of Southards Pond Park in Babylon. The arms of a man were also found at the park, officials said. One of the arms has a distinct tattoo and the fingertips are missing.
Investigators are waiting on an autopsy report to reveal more information on the cause of death for both victims.
A high school student on her way to school made the gruesome discovery of one of the male arms along Siegel Boulevard, which runs alongside Southards Pond Park, around 8:40 a.m. Thursday, sparking the police investigation.
A police cadaver dog searching the western side of the park found a leg sticking out of a pile of leaves on Graham Place between Beverly Road and Martin Place, authorities said. Investigators told PIX11 News the same dog also found a right arm on the eastern side of the park, about 20 feet from where the left arm was discovered.
The body parts appear to have been dumped recently, according to authorities.

Usually they won’t leave tattoos on if it’s mafia. It makes identification easier.

All kinds of serial killers have removed tattoos as well, so it’s impossible to speculate.

That's a big park and part of a strip of green that goes half way across the island. It's also across the bay from Gilgo Beach of Long Island murder fame.

It’s just a double homicide at this point, not a serial killer.

There were some pics of the accomplices in the Daily Fail. Real beauties, as you can imagine, and they were walking out of the courthouse like they didn't have a care in the world, laughing their asses off.

Is this news? Aren't body parts always floating up in NYC? It seems large cities are prone to this, homicide or not.

They should check with Hudson University to see if there are any missing students.

Bodies in NYC? Not really big news. Body parts? That gets some attention. Besides, this is not NYC. Bodies in the suburbs are not expected. Body parts means MURDER.
