People always say she can't talk properly and Wendy Williams called her speech similar to that of a 5th grader. It made me wonder..... Could she be on the spectrum? I often notice her weird dance moves and grimaces in some music videos. Are those tics?

No r11 i am the troll. Not my thread.
Beyoncé may have dyslexia.
Female Aspergers is very rarely diagnosed (90% of all diagnoses are male) as women are thought to be more adept at masking than males; and women are often written off with other neuroses (bipolar, borderline, histrionic, etc)
Those who get diagnosed may do so because they have a pronounced oddness they have embraced.
When looking for a female Aspie, what you want to look for is a somewhat alien quality. There may also be a chameleonlike personal appearance.
I’m going to post two clips, and compare their body language to Beyoncé's. It's very different.
The first is Björk:

Beyoncé does not do this.

Emma Corrin self identifies as nonbinary. If you see a woman who identifies as nonbinary, you have found a female Aspie.

R20 because autism may be understood as having to do with difference in the perception of self and oneself being in one’s body. The rate of autism in the transgender/nonbinary community is six hundred times higher than the general population. People thought it was odd when both Wachowski Brothers became the Wachowski Sisters. Transgenderism is not hereditary. Autism is. The Wachowski’s most important work (starring the omega aspie himself, Keanu) is about one’s body not being one’s body.

Emma Corrin, the "non-binary" person who makes a very nice living playing exclusively women. I pity journalists who have to interview her, do the whole sycophantic, glowing-profile bit, and then shit out their piece complete with the whole tortured, awkward-as-hell, compulsory "they/them" nonsense, which anyone with any sense stops reading after two sentences because the "singular they" thing is just such a pain to read.

Isee you post often and have sworn to not touch it but since you’re being forthright and helpful on a catastrophically-begun thread I admit I’m curious. For the record I am a late diagnosis (age 36 at dx) female ASD level 1 (formerly known as Aspergers) and I am a librarian who currently works with parents of newly-diagnosed children.
I’m just honestly curious as to what compels your obvious interest in my people, as it were.

R42 it should be fairly obvious I am on the Spectrum. Neurodiversity is one of my areas of special interest.
What was formerly understood as Aspergers Syndrome may be understood by the persistent recognition of, and search for, patterns. Autistic pattern recognition resulted in the much of our understanding of physics (gravity, relativity and the atom bomb.)

Beyoncé cannot have Aspergers because she doesn’t make the correct type of music. All autistic music sounds the same. Its hallmark is the use of repeated motifs with variations in the keys. She doesn’t do this.

R43 Can you explain why Aspies hate loud noise? I have an autistic friend who will have a meltdown at the sound of firecrackers, loud horns, even whistling. They once got very angry when someone nearby popped open a bottle of champagne because the sound startled them.

[quote] Is Beyoncé an Aspergers?
OP are you a homeless?
by Anonymous | reply 54 | March 3, 2024 12:23 AM |
R53 neurodiverse people are hypersensitive or hyposensitive to all of the five senses. Many neurodiverse people can hear the ticking of a wristwatch or the sound of electricity in the walls.
Aspies are remarkably analogous to cats. Cats may hear the sound of someone placing a small package outside your door, or be terrified of the sound of dumping silverware from the dishwasher tray.
by Anonymous | reply 55 | March 3, 2024 12:24 AM |
R53 as R55 says, we are hypersensitive to sound. For me I can heart every light and machine in the room at all times. A firecracker does hurt my entire body, the noise is so jangling to the nerves. Loud noises like that are like being physically hit. But each of us can be different to one another in small ways.
Beyoncé is not one of us, and I think the “Aspie Troll” [my counterpart here] has done a solid work of explaining how one can tell.
The thing that amuses me most is how many people here seem to think that Aspergers/ASD = “stupid” when that’s not at all the case.

by Anonymous | reply 64 | March 3, 2024 3:00 AM |
Thank you for discussing that, r55/r56. Far more interesting than Beyonce. I was aware of Aspergers' general sensitivity, but didn't know it extends to noises to such extreme, almost like having a bionic ear. I'm not ASD, but have had lifelong hearing problems (maternal grandmother died deaf, father and paternal uncle had very poor hearing near the end of life). Sirens, loud noises of a certain pitch, whistles, fireworks, the Pioneer Woman's voice, etc. have always bothered me since childhood. It's typical of hearing loss. Later they caused a physiological reaction, like a small sudden panic. My startle reflex has always had a low threshold. Now something like the dumping of a silverware tray would raise my heart rate a lot.
At 56, I finally got hearing aids. I began hearing tiny things and it became a little unbearable. Not anything as acute as being aware of the electricity moving through walls. For example, I kept hearing an electronic beeping but couldn't locate it in my house. It drove me mad. I went outside trying to locate it, walked around the house.. It was my neighbor's microwave. She was defrosting a bunch of stuff. Our houses aren't attached. We're at least 40 feet apart. Granted the windows were cracked open, but still.
It's very unnerving to hear things you can't identify and even if I could it would drive me nuts . I can't imagine what it's like to be besieged by noises like that. It's a reason why I don't wear the aids regularly. So funny that a post about a pop singer has given me appreciation for what ASD people go through.

See now r79 is a very good example of an authoritarian personality (authoritarianism does overlap with certain autistic traits which explains its frequency in dictators, revolutionaries, and terrorists.) Note the unusual emphasis that the person they disagreed with deserved to be punished.
In speaking with obsessive anti-Trumpers (who were also obsessive pro-Bideners) I was shocked by the amount of idiosyncratic language (“People diagnosed with autism use idiosyncratic speech that make little sense to those who are not familiar with them”). In particular one person simply attacked any opinion which simply question or worried about Biden’s reelection (which is a totally legitimate topic for discussion among liberals, although unnecessary because Biden has always intended to drop out which I can also prove) by calling them “Boris” and “cunt”.
So I tracked their postings in FF and found that this particular poster who called everyone Boris and cunt and would repeatedly post “Biden will crush Trump” was in fact doing it doing it because of echolalia, which is almost exclusively associated with autism. This person was obsessed with the sounds created by the hard “B” and “C” sound at the start of words as well as the long “s” sound at the end of words. “Boris. Cunt. BS. Border Caravans.” They repeat the sounds over and over, possibly hundreds of times an hour in their thoughts. This person may have only become fixated on Biden because his name starts with a “B” and is two syllables, allowing it to be repeated machine gun-style in their head. If Biden had a more melodic Irish name, say, O’Shaughnessy, this person would be indifferent to them.
Another poster would only refer to Republicans using exclusively idiosyncratic terms (Dump, Repuke, MAGAT) and was doing so because of an obsession with cleanliness and body horror (excrement, vomit, and decay) as well as the need to create short words with hard consonant stresses which were not available in the original words (MAGAs is “Mah-Guhz” which you cannot repeat machine gun style in your head. MAGAT is Mah-GATT. GATT. Rata-tat-tat. Machine gun sounds.)
(What I have just typed above is a good example of Aspergers pattern recognition.)

[quote]So let me get this straight. Aspies hate loud noise. Beyonce performs concerts with loud noise. She doesn't melt down. She's not aspie.
They hate loud noise when it’s unexpected. No one loves loud noise more than an Aspie when it’s engineered to overwhelm the senses.
For a long time I was curious why I only liked some music from the 1960s. Most of it was “old people music.” I did not care for the Beatles for a very long time. Until I heard Across the Universe.
by Anonymous | reply 83 | March 3, 2024 11:29 AM |

Or why I gravitated to certain girl groups of the era.
by Anonymous | reply 85 | March 3, 2024 11:35 AM |
And the reason is the Wall of Sound. The combination of sound engineering with repeated motifs achieves a sensory overload close to hypnosis. Elvis repeats “We’re caught in a trap” for over two minutes in Suspicious Minds.
The Wall of Sound was created by sound engineer Phil Spector.
Phil Spector is the most autistic looking man I have ever seen.

Unfortunately, autism probably also explains why Hitler was obsessed with Wagner.
However, Terrence Malick (certainly on the Spectrum) makes excellent use of the Vorspiel in the opening of The New World.
The opening of The New World depicts the arrival of the Europeans in a manner similar to first contact with humans arriving on a planet populated by aliens. However, it is told from the point of view of the aliens. Malick’s sympathies are with the aliens.

See a post like r90 is extremely typical of neurotypicism. Most of them do not want to understand anything, which is why we can’t stand most of them.
“I don’t understand Heisenberg’s Uncertainty Principle.”
“Heisenberg’s Uncertainty Principle, proposed by physicist Werner Heisenberg in 1927, states that there is inherent uncertainty in simultaneously measuring certain pairs of properties (such as position and momentum) of a particle. The more precisely we determine one property, the less certain we become about the other. Mathematically, it’s expressed as Δx · Δp ≥ ħ / 2, where Δx represents the standard deviation of position, Δp is the standard deviation of momentum, and ħ is the reduced Planck constant. This fundamental concept challenges classical intuition and plays a central role in quantum mechanics, impacting our understanding of particle behavior at the microscopic level.”

That massive generalization is completely untrue. Many people at the high-performing end of the spectrum are so absorbed by their work or other projects that they think less than usual about themselves, and have unusually low regard for what other people think about them. What other people think about their work often means something, but that is not necessarily allied with their identity. (They're not going to grab their Oscar and say, "You love me! [quote]echolalia, which is almost exclusively associated with autism. This person was obsessed with the sounds created by the hard “B” and “C” sound at the start of words as well as the long “s”
Does this also explain why a certain, rather infamous DL poster kept repeating the words "cracker breeder goy" (always in the same sequence, sometimes with "ableist" thrown in) all over the internet, and could be identified simply by typing those words, in that order, into a search engine?
Said poster is/was an extreme literalist/black-and-white thinker, and I always felt bad for him when people saw it fit to debate him and pick on him relentlessly (taunting him by using his real name), as his thinking processes were clearly impaired in some way.

Beyonce is not smart. She's pretty and for years had the ability to move between worlds because she is pretty and has some European features that make her desirable to a cross section of men. But listen to her, she rough and coarse and likes rough and coarse men. Her merger with Jay Z moved them both to the next level, but Jay Z is the brains of the operation. She's created the mythology of Beyonce, that spoke to black girls and gay men - which I guess is her greatest talent. She's a pretty Diana Ross without the taste for white guys.
by Anonymous | reply 105 | March 3, 2024 2:12 PM |
R105 She's not that pretty, and she certainly doesn't speak to this gay man.
by Anonymous | reply 106 | March 3, 2024 2:13 PM |
I watched about half of OP's linked interview and am not, albeit as a total layman, seeing any signs of atypical behavior or dumbness. She has a fluid and articulate speech pattern and appropriate facial expressions and reactions. If she seems weird to you, I sure as shit wouldn't want you evaluating me.
by Anonymous | reply 107 | March 3, 2024 3:12 PM |
Low IQ folks can be garrulous, R107, especially when they are young and haven't figured out all the adults in the room are much more intelligent.
by Anonymous | reply 108 | March 3, 2024 3:53 PM |
A 5th grader? Wendy was being very generous because there's no way Bey is smarter than a 5th grader. Sorry. She reminds me of the kids I went to school with who needed "special classes". I wouldn't be surprised if she needs a prescribed stimulant like Adderall to function daily.p

R92 Oh I didn't realize you were the CEO of assumptions or that you could run my post through a fucking MRI. Freak
by Anonymous | reply 110 | March 3, 2024 4:40 PM |
R109 You can tell Beyonce is intelligent the way she responded to the Bootylicious question and just her overall agreeableness with the interviewer. She never got defensive or cunty. That’s what a true leader is. Beyoncé’s diction perhaps might be troubling if she were Vice President or CEO of Harpo entertainment but she is a performance artist and singer. And nowadays she just about IS entertainment. Or perhaps it might be endearing if she were a world leader. God knows George Bush was inarticulate as fuck but was voted president twice.

Great performer, though.

R102 yes definitely autistic
I have no idea idea who he is referring to, but he has zeroed in on the name “Bill Perdue”
This was deliberately chosen because of the B and P hard consonants at the beginning of each name. The “B’ and “P” sounds are among the most common in echolalia. The speaker may actually be mentally transposing both the sound and the image of the letter (b and p are mirror images of each other when lowercase.) They are creating a phonetic ying and yang.
This is one of the reasons several of the obsessive Biden fanatics are obsessed with Vladimir Putin. (The other read is that Putin is definitely autistic and autistic people are naturally drawn to each other.). However, both Biden and Putin are short two syllable words which create both a phonetic and real-world ying and yang. BIDEN PUTIN BIDEN PUTIN BIDEN PUTIN BIDEN. They hear it in their head over and over again. It is a phonetic Ouroboros.
The crazy poster was also obsessed with the movie “Bedknobs and Broomsticks.” Guarantee it was entirely based on the title and nothing to do with the actual movie. Three hard B’s, a hard K and two sibilant s’s.

I would say anyone on Datalounge has more credibility than a (supposed) drug addict who comes on here and brags about his drug use and calls people f@ggot, so you'll have to do better than that, Teafake.
by Anonymous | reply 129 | March 4, 2024 3:58 PM |
Beyonce went to real schools for brief stints here and there but was mostly 'homeschooled'. Others who knew the Knowles' said Mathew had Beyonce and various iterations of DC out in the Knowles garage for hours a day several days a week practicing routines. Beyonce probably has the equivalent of a 6th-grade education, if that. She's set for life, so maybe it doesn't matter to her, but it doesn't sound like she had much of a choice in her future.

Polite conversation? No, you think you're so fucking amazing, you just had to come on here and tell a bunch of anonymous strangers how cool you are because you did so much blow.
