It has seemed to me that by her own report she’s found it several times. I remember her being beside herself with bliss over a baseball player back when I still read Vanity Fair.

She's probably as (emotionally and verbally) abusive as her mother. Unless she got some deep-dive counseling around her mom's alleged abuse, this almost always passes down through generations. I hope she "nanny-outs" her children, for their sake. She sound likes a not-so-caring mom, as she is in constant need of attention.
