I want to take a trip this April, preferably to the beach for 10 days. Please choose the destination for me Datalounge.
Will Datalounge pick my vacation destination?

Biloxi, Mississippi!

You must go to Tanna Island of Vanuatu and see the world's most accessible volcano. It has all the very best that the South Pacific has to offer.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | February 26, 2024 12:09 AM |
Laughlin, Nevada?

Malta. I’d say Portugal but it’ll be packed in April.

Caye Caulker Belize if you are poor. Turks and Caicos if you are not.

Branson, Mo. or Fort Lauderdale.

Manhattan Beach —the one in Brooklyn, not the one next to Hermosa and Redondo

You didn't indicate if you have an unlimited budget or want to be near bigger city diversions. The beach can get pretty old after ten days. If you just want nice Gulf white sand beaches, the Florida Panhandle has some good choices. I know it’s Florida but Destin, Cape San Blas and St. George Is. are actually pretty nice.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | February 26, 2024 12:56 AM |
I was watching some twitter whores frolic naked on a beach that had Black sand! Turns out it was an island off the coast of Africa called Cape Verde. Very remote looking place with strange colors.

My budget is $5000 to $6000 including flight. I just want to get away, I can do the beach for 10 straight days. I don't need any tourist attractions.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | February 26, 2024 1:06 AM |
Where do you live, OP? It makes a difference regarding the advice we provide.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | February 26, 2024 1:06 AM |
If you're in the US, I'd argue the best "value" though not the most glamorous choices would be Key West or Puerto Rico.
Obviously, you could go to Australia, South America, or the Caribbean, but the added cost outweighs whatever incremental enjoyment you'd have.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | February 26, 2024 1:07 AM |
That's a nice budget, OP! Out of my price range for recommendations, I'm afraid. But have a wonderful trip!
by Anonymous | reply 22 | February 26, 2024 1:07 AM |
I’ve always wanted to go to the Swedish island Gotland where they filmed Pippi Longstocking and Faro where Ingmar Bergman lived and filmed movies.

Seaside Heights in March.

Oh, you’ve got to go to Paris in April, and while you’re there take advantage of its Mediterranean beaches.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | February 26, 2024 1:40 AM |
What r27 said. Paris is famous for its many beaches.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | February 26, 2024 1:43 AM |
I'll pick your nose.

by Anonymous | reply 35 | February 26, 2024 2:57 AM |
If you want the beach, why would you go to Key West? Rent one of those villas just South of Puerto Vallarta.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | February 26, 2024 3:21 AM |
Vanuatu's active Yasur volcano. You can climb right up to the crater rim and peer down. Be mindful of the flimsy guardrail.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | February 26, 2024 7:11 AM |
R38, actually OP did specify a budget at R19.

Pacific coast, Mexico, Costa Rica, Miguel Antonio or Spain.
Beware of multiple sargassum. It's everywhere from FL to Barbados to Cancun. Very few beaches have been unaffected and it changes daily. The most expensive resorts clean the water and the beaches but it's still awful. This is Palm Beach, Aruba, always one of the best in the world.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | February 26, 2024 12:44 PM |
Given ten days and $5,000 I am changing my recommendation to ambergris Caye in Belize.

BILOXI, MISSISSIPPI

Op, save your money and just watch the travel channel. Your 6 grand could do well with alot of interest through the years.

I'm hearing good things about North Korea, OP. Be a trendsetter!

Once again, I am going to suggest Biloxi, Mississippi.

The Redneck Riviera
by Anonymous | reply 50 | February 26, 2024 4:31 PM |
Go to Cozumel, OP. I went there years ago and I thought the beaches were nicer than the ones in Maui.
by Anonymous | reply 51 | February 26, 2024 7:48 PM |
Anguilla has gorgeous beaches, great food, and - best of all - peace and quiet. I've visited five times and have always found it to be gay-friendly, albeit low-key (which is the vibe of most of the island, away from high-end resorts).
There are good value hotels on Shoal Bay East and Meads Bay, both of which are excellent locations for a first visit. Or for a splurge, rent a small private villa with pool.
This website tells you everything you need to know.

Biloxi

$5-$6K for a 10-day beach trip? OP, open up your mind and get the hell out of North America/Northern Hemisphere and go to Tahiti or Fiji, or maybe even the Seychelles.
by Anonymous | reply 56 | February 27, 2024 2:37 AM |
Mississippi
by Anonymous | reply 57 | February 27, 2024 3:38 AM |
I hate to say it, but why not just go to Florida?
by Anonymous | reply 58 | February 27, 2024 3:47 AM |
Oh, R58 .... really? REALLY?
by Anonymous | reply 59 | February 27, 2024 4:35 AM |

Bon bini, come to Aruba!
by Anonymous | reply 62 | February 27, 2024 4:43 AM |
R60, yes, really, Florida. Let's face it. Aside from Hawaii, Florida has the nicest beaches in the 50 states. I've lived in both northern and southern California. California simply does not have beaches on par with Hawaii and Florida.
OP has a $5 to $6K budget for one person and wouldn't mind spending ten days on the beach.
You can easily spend $500 per night on accommodations. That is already $5,000 for ten nights.
I'm not familiar with the US Virgin Islands, but maybe those beaches are nicer than Florida's.
by Anonymous | reply 63 | February 27, 2024 4:43 AM |
Gaza has lovely beaches!
by Anonymous | reply 64 | February 27, 2024 4:45 AM |
R63, any number of beaches outside the US are prettier and cheaper on the wallet than Florida's.
And frankly, Florida may as well be a foreign authoritarian nation than some Latin governments!
by Anonymous | reply 65 | February 27, 2024 4:56 AM |
R65, well, name some of these beaches, then.

by Anonymous | reply 67 | February 27, 2024 9:20 AM |
The Virgin Island beaches are nicer than Florida, but a nice hotel on a beautiful beach in the USVI for 10 days will be over OP’s budget.
by Anonymous | reply 68 | February 27, 2024 9:51 AM |
Florida's Gulf Coast beaches are pretty great.

I know the OP mentioned beaches, but I'll throw this out there anyhow: 5 days in Prague, Czechia. One of Europe's most beautiful and historically preserved cities. Then take the train over to the high Tatras Mountains of Slovakia (underrated, rugged alpine beauty).
Czechia deserves to be rewarded for being the only country having much sense re: gay rights in that region.
by Anonymous | reply 78 | February 28, 2024 8:02 PM |
We are throwing it back
