She just kind of faded into oblivion along with Big Gay Al.
WHET to Star Jones?

She was more popular when she was fat

Another one that is strangely quiet is the Black woman who worked for Dump. She kept claiming to have info but never came through with much.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | February 23, 2024 9:13 PM |
Omarosa! She turned fifty last week.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | February 23, 2024 9:32 PM |
Omarosa had every clip of her on the Surreal Life scrubbed from the internet.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | February 23, 2024 10:11 PM |
Omarosa thought she was going to be a media star thanks to 'The Apprentice'. No one wanted her. (I remember the rumors that she thought Oprah was going to take notice of her and make her the next big TV host when she started OWN; Oprah never even spit her way.)

Dementia.

OP, our Starlet is anything but faded into oblivion, she has been the STAR of Divorce Court for the last two years!
Must be a nice check.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | February 23, 2024 11:30 PM |
She looks like she's put on some weight since the surgeries.
And what's with all those video screens in the background? Are those assholes the jury? The audience by Skype?
by Anonymous | reply 8 | February 23, 2024 11:49 PM |
She’s sitting next to me. What do you want to know??
by Anonymous | reply 9 | February 23, 2024 11:56 PM |
lol r8, the virtual audience. Thanks pandemic!

We allowed Star to leave with dignity, but she has made another choice.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | February 24, 2024 5:24 AM |
Back in the day when Barbara Walters still had the power to destroy careers. Star Jones being fired ended her career. She never recovered. It also didn’t help that the audience and public hated Star and her creepy gay husband.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | February 24, 2024 12:24 PM |
The irony is that Star's surprise announcement on the View was dignified and classy. What really set off Babs was that she lost control.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | February 24, 2024 12:35 PM |
She was a foreshadowing of what was to come on many fronts
by Anonymous | reply 14 | February 24, 2024 12:39 PM |
Star used to be so hilarious on The View. For me the golden age of Datalounge was when there was a poster who would post everyday about some inane thing that Star had said (usually about how vain she was or her dislike of children).
by Anonymous | reply 15 | February 24, 2024 3:51 PM |
R15 At least she had more substance behind her ego than Sherri "Maybe the Earth IS flat" Shepherd.

I started the thread about Star and Big Gay Al when she was talking about the wedding all the time and it went to 600 posts fast, they gave us a lot of material
by Anonymous | reply 17 | February 24, 2024 5:16 PM |
Star’s spilling the beans on her dismissal was a baller move that probably spun Barbara Walter’s world off-kilter in a manner seldom seen.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | February 24, 2024 5:35 PM |
Has she gained all of her weight back? She admitted she had gastric bypass surgery after denying it for a long time.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | February 24, 2024 5:40 PM |
I heard she went to shit, and the hogs ate her.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | February 24, 2024 7:03 PM |
Lord we did chow down on that wedding to Big Gay Al and all the payoff gifts they got. Christ, it was tacky.

R20 one of my grandma’s sayings!
by Anonymous | reply 22 | February 24, 2024 7:53 PM |
Al was collaborating on a 'talk show' on some cable network (Fox?), with Funky Dineva and a lady.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | February 24, 2024 7:57 PM |
R19, last I e seen she’s done a good job of keeping the weight off. Even with surgery I think it’s difficult to keep the weight off for years as one ages.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | February 24, 2024 7:57 PM |
The end of Star's time on "The View" was so fascinating. She was OBSESSED with having the biggest wedding she could imagine, and tallked about it for months and months. She discovered she could get all kinds of free services for it if she just mentioned the providers on the air, and the show became an endless discussion of her wedding plans with her just placing product and company names.
What made it all the more surreal was everyone knew that her fiancé was gay (you could basically see his gayness from space), but no one dared say anything. And she just bragged and bragged and bragged about it--I remember when he proposed to her at a basetball game she later said, "Who knew it would be on the Jumbotron?" (OF COURSE she knew...)
She was a hilariously transparent liar. She had gastric bypass surgery when she was diagnosed with morbid obesity, but she refused to admit it on the air and insisted it was all due to diet and exercise.
She was such a gift to talk-show television--the difference between how she tried to depict herself and how everyone else actually saw her was hilariously enormous. She was a consummate phony, and at some level she knew it, but she just couldn't help herself.

[quote] Al was collaborating on a 'talk show' on some cable network (Fox?), with Funky Dineva and a lady.
The show is still active (Funky Dineva left a few months ago due to pay disagreements). Honestly, I think he looks better now than he did when he was married to Star. Claudia Jordan (the other host of the show) often shades him about the marriage and he's a good sport about it.

Al insists that he is bisexual. Funky Dineva asked Al whether he was a top or a bottom and Al pretended to be perplexed by the question.
Al admits he enjoys group sex and being naked in front of a group.
Wendy Williams is the one who started calling him "Big Gal Al." Al says karma is responsible for Wendy's current health and life problems.
I don't remember Claudia shading Al for having been married to a woman. I do remember Funky Dineva laughing about it. Al was not fooling FD.

I remember that despite getting so much free swag for the wedding, she chartered a bus down south to bring her relatives to the wedding. How much would she have been put out to just send them round trip airline tickets? How expensive could a Southwest flight from North Carolina or wherever to NYC be?
by Anonymous | reply 29 | February 24, 2024 8:42 PM |
Haven't seen much of her since The Partridge Family. I thought she was dead.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | February 24, 2024 9:37 PM |
Keep in mind that during her term on "The View" Star spent good money to have a gold-plated bidet installed in her NYC apartment.

R22 your grandma was raised right.

Guys, we don’t care about fatties. Former or otherwise.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | February 25, 2024 1:45 AM |
I have always thought that Star went so overboard with her wedding because wanted to prove to the world that a big girl could get a hot guy. I understand that "hot" is subjective and there was some question about Al's sexuality, but all Star wanted was to have a fairy tale wedding to a hot guy and push a narrative that she, as a big girl, could have it all.

R34 well she gave all those chunky fruit flies hope they too could marry their hot gay boyfriends .
by Anonymous | reply 36 | February 25, 2024 2:34 AM |
Al is a very attractive daddy now, hot bawdy
He said that Star knew that he was bisexual when they got married. She totally watched him get down with other men
by Anonymous | reply 37 | February 25, 2024 12:18 PM |
Good. Couldn’t stand her.
She once said black women shouldn’t be criticized for wearing fur because slavery. That’s right, if you’ve been victimized, victimizing even more vulnerable beings is the appropriate response.
Dumb cunt.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | February 25, 2024 12:39 PM |
r38 that is a weird statement and it sounds like a contrived soundbite from the early 2000s generated for ratings.
Anyway, I might be in the minority but I think Star Jones won in the end. She can probably retire after a few years on Divorce Court, which is a well paid and super easy gig that probably only films a couple months out of the year. Her current husband totally stays out of the media too, most people don't even know she married again.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | February 25, 2024 12:49 PM |
R39 She could've retired years ago, or taken a job at a proper law firm as a named partner. But she loves being on TV, and apparently loves fancy things. The bitch has a spending problem, so she has to keep taking these nonsense daytime gigs.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | February 25, 2024 3:40 PM |
