When you zoom in on his crown in OP's pic you can see scalp. I think he has hair plugs. Maybe he wears a wig while waiting for the plugs to heal but OP's pic doesn't look like a wig.

I know he’s crazy as fuck but I find him very attractive. Even now that he’s older. In fact, more so. He’s aged better than Brad, Johnny, Leto, Matt Damon, etc. I like his movies better too.

I’m not an expert on hair systems so I am genuinely curious….if that is a piece, why is so much of his scalp showing still? I guess I would expect to not see any scalp at all, so while I see the “shadow” it just appears like his pomade bangs are causing it. Do some hairpieces go so far as to be slightly thinner to reveal some scalp so as to look age appropriate? Kind of like pile on a carpet?

Transplants weren't really perfected until the early 2000s, and can be still hit-and-miss. I think a lot of actors became used to wearing pieces because they are more versatile, and have looked good on camera since the 1930s. Glue really recks your scalp after a couple of years of wear and makes a transplant less successful.

I continue to believe that he would have a much better-looking hairpiece if he were to wear one. It looks to me like his hair has lost a lot of volume -- like many older men -- and he's wearing it too long. He thinks the length disguises the hair loss but it's tough to style long, thin hair.
