I'm bringing home my new Apollo Blue next week

Ugh, a flat nosed breed? Why? It's cruel. They can't breathe properly.

Because, r1. Just because.

I love him. And I love his parent, who I've fostered, and I loved his predecessor who I spent 14 years with.

Because I have love and bonds with them. They're not just short-nosed breed, they are a family of dogs I've been a part of for over 2 decades. We're a family.

And because I lost my Hercules, who was my boy from 8 weeks old until last year, at 14 weeks and 3 months died. Less than a week later, I helped these pups come into the world, holding each baby on my chest. it was as heart-warming as it was heart-breaking.

I will love him for the rest of his and my life, as I did with Hercules, who lived a long and fruitful life.

Nobody can really predict who they fall in live with. This was no exception.

It certainly wasn't planned. I won't go into detail (but then i did), but the fact that this birth happened at all is somewhat of a miracle. The dog was expected to die from poisoning and was in the hospital for 3 days on life support. She was touch and go. She made it through and even though we all thought she would never have been pregnant after all the intense drugs she was given to save her, she made it through.

This wasn't about a breed...it was about the fact that i took care of her when she was expected to die, while my own dog was dying.

I only wish you could feel that love and what I'm feeling right now after all this loss (not just my dog, buy others over the past year), and i wish that for you too r5.
