The Invasion (2007)
An "Invasion of The Body Snatchers" reprise and probably the best one. Also one of the most terrifying premises for a film imaginable, to me.
Kidman walking down the street straining to show no emotion as the remaining uninfected, in hysterics, are taken away. CHILLING!
I always wanted to see more glimpses of camaraderie between Kidman and her fellow uninfected 'pretenders.'

... probably the best one?

Nicole has to be the most prolific major actress of the last 35 years. Most of her shit makes it to the big screen, too. Weirdly, her crone Naomi Watts won't stop filming either but she's down market. Desperately did a Mel Gibson movie then probably a dozen more POS direct to streaming thrillers.

This is low-hanging fruit, but... with all that Botox, "walking down the street straining to show no emotion as the remaining uninfected, in hysterics, are taken away" was probably the easiest scene she shot.

Another vote for the '78 version here. Just watched it again recently and it totally holds up. I think the naturalistic vibe makes it all the more scary.

Her son in the film, Jackson Bond, became a hockey player.

I've seen Invasion, and it was well done. No problem. But my favorite version of Invasion of the Body Snatchers was the Jeff Goldblum Donald Sutherland version.

I love the atmosphere of the 1956 original.

What's wrong with Kidman's appearance? She was very stunning in this film.

Thanks to pharmaceuticals and social media. This is basically coming true.

It IS a good film, but I liked the quartet of Sutherland, Adams, Cartwright and Goldblum in the ‘78 version. Kidman is pretty much on her own in this remake.

I remember it was widely panned at the time and apparently had a very troubled production. I watched it on cable years ago but don’t remember much about it.
Body Snatchers from 1993 is a good version of the story. Meg Tilly is super creepy and setting things on a military base is an interesting statement

I love the original. The remake made the pods too yucky and this version I only lasted about 10 minutes. I remember there was a dinner party scene and Nicole was trying to have an intellectual discussion- and I was out.

The Donald Sutherland version is one of my all time favorite Science fiction movies. Alien series, and The THing with Kurt Russell is another one.Don't shoot me, but I really enjoyed the PRedator movies. Not the Alien vs Predator, but the Original PRedator I & 2. Hulu has a newish movie called Prey, a prequel to Predator and it is excellent.

I was unable to watch the trailer because of the screechy music.
I avoid films starring the leading lady, she makes bad films.
The original film made in the 1950s and the remake made in the late 1970s are terrifying.

I saw this in theaters as a teenager and have always enjoyed it. I guess I'm in the minority, but I thought it was really atmospheric and oppressive in tone. It's probably my second-favorite version of this story after the 1978 version.

I had to laugh when one of Nicole's psychiatric payments is Veronica Cartwright wearing an awful hairstyle, and Nicole (in a Korean wig) says I want to help you.

Aren’t we due for a musical version?

Is this another role where Nicole is really too old to be the mother of a small child?

Prefer the 1956 version best. Jack Finney's novel was supposed to be about Mill Valley CA rather than Santa Mira. MV's downtown resembles that of the film. Think it was Tiburon that used to be a rail hub in the 1950s. That would be where the lead character gets picked up by his nurse.
Second is the 1978 version. It transports the action about 15 miles south. Am nostalgic for that time. They were filming it just after I moved to S.F.
There is also the 1993 skanky version with Meg Tilly. The less said about it the better.
