This poll from 2018 lists one I've never heard of before.....

Kewpie

Trader Joe’s Organic mayonnaise is nasty— tastes like fish due to whatever soybean/canola oil they use. Beware!

I like Dukes, Blue Plate, or Hellmans. I know there are some DLers who could write a thesis on their differences but they taste about the same to me.

Blue Plate is definitely the best, it's silky and doesn't have that weird foamy texture. I make it from scratch sometimes for salad dressings, or BP is out of stock.

This is now a topic that must repeat monthly?

We are not doing this again.

Home made.

Hellman’s is all I need. There’s enough choice overload as it is. I’m grateful that when it comes to ketchup and mayo I only have to reach for Heinz and Hellman’s and don’t think twice about it.

R8, Totally agree.

1. Duke’s (convert trying it last year) 2. Hellmann’s

While they are very similar, Duke’s has a slightly more acidic flavor. Hellmann’s adds sugar.

The best for me is whatever's on sale. But my favorite is Kraft's.

by Anonymousreply 11February 13, 2024 3:36 PM

Mayonnaise is one product where brand matters!

Hellmann's is called Best Foods out West. It's the best mayonnaise. Kraft is also good.

Anything else sucks, too thin and runny.

Since it's on the list, my favorite is Miracle Whip. Regular mayo has no flavor compared to Miracle Whip. Even (salted) butter has more flavor than mayo. Now it costs almost $10 a jar.

I like: 365 mayo #1. #2 Kewpie. #3 McCormick Mayonesa with lime (found in Mexican markets). Then Best Foods.

Publix regularly has BOGO on Hellmans.
