Frida Kahlo lost her virginity in that bus crash!
A piece of metal actually punctured her vagina.
[quote]I lost my virginity, my kidney was softened, I could not pee, and what hurt me the most was my column.
"In the artist’s clinical story, which was written in 1946 by German doctor Henriette, and that was reproduced by Raquel Tibol in her book, it is reported that the accident caused “fracture of the third and fourth lumbar vertebras, three fractures in the pelvis, 11 fractures in the right food, dislocation of the left elbow, penetrating injury in the abdomen caused by an iron tube that entered through the left hip and exited through the sex tearing the left labium. Acute peritonitis. Cystitis with cannulation for several days.”
How horrible!

I can't imagine how painful and humiliating that must have been.

Her first self portrait, painted while in bed , recovering from the crash, which she sent for her boyfriend, who had just broken up with her because she was crippled.

Wow. Fuck that guy. I was aware of the crash and her resulting injuries, but not that for whatever reason.

Sorry -her virginity was as intact after that accident as it was before.

How would you know that, r9? Frida Kahlo doesn't strike me as someone who would lie about her virginity. She was way ahead of he time.

Yeah, this sounds like feminist claptrap -- she lost her virginity to a bus, not a man.
Please!
Believe it or not, an actual penis is still required for that to happen.

Read carefully, R10. What I said was that the accident had no relation to her virginity. If she was a virgin before, she was still a virgin afterward. She didn't engage in sex with a bus! I don't know Frida's life well, so I couldn't say whether or not she was virga intacta before the bus ride, so I couldn't make an absolute declaration as to her post-bus status. Hence, she was the same after as she was before. The poor woman went through a horrific experience, which is bad enough without people sexualizing it.

Luckily no head trauma as her unibrow cushioned the impact

Maybe so, but she did lie saying her dad was Hungarian Jewish. He was fully German, according to genealogists.

I do wonder how she'd feel about people using her likeness everywhere (i.e. t-shirts, etc.).
