Do today's country music artists still fervently embrace Trump?
After seeing the amount of unity during this year's Grammys it had me wondering how many of these country artists support Trump. I would think a lot of them would steer clear of Taylor Swift, but it seemed like they were there dancing and singing along with her in the audience. Winner Lainey Wilson seemed liked someone who would be an avid Trump supporter, but probably doesn't want to voice her opinions to avoid losing fans. When she spoke, she sounded very much from the sticks. Very hillbilly.
I also wonder about Dolly Parton. She doesn't seem to have the same amount of bravery as Taylor Swift in denouncing Trump. and Luke Combs. What's his deal? Trump or no Trump?

Anyone who is into country music simply has to be a Trump-loving redneck bogan. The most unsophisticated music on the planet. Miles Davis and John Coltrane it ain't.

I don't know if it means anything, but there seemed to be a lot of respect and connection between Luke Combs and Tracy Chapman when they performed "Fast Car" together on stage. A song sung by two different lives but having the same meaning. Even reading the comments on X everybody seemed to agree that it was a very heartfelt moment watching the two of them perform together. Even some posts on Instagram stated that this is what America is (I think it may have been Sandra Bernhard who posted that)

You'd be surprised. Remember when the Dixie Chicks lost fans because they didn't toe the like re Bush and the war? A lot of country stars are surprisingly liberal.

I think rap has country beat in that department.

r4 Agreed. At least the country people can hold a note, what rappers do is barely music.

R5 Those are a lot of older, established country singers. I'm talking about the musicians of today.

Faith Hill and Tim McGraw are definitely Democrats; they have made large contributions to the Democratic National Comittee and Democratic causes

I don't disagree but comments like this are a bullhorn for the Klan Grannies so let's stay on topic.

R2 as vicious as people can be on X/Twitter I was surprised to see so many positive comments about that performance from everyone.

I don't expect to see Lara Trump pay the same respect to Tom Petty. I mean, his family pretty much told her to stop, but she went ahead and killed his music.

Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus' musical style has changed significantly. I don't even consider them country singers anymore.

Dolly needs to up her game. I still remember how she was close-lipped about Trump when she was presenting an award with her "9 to 5" co-stars. Both Jane and Lily said something, but Dolly just stood there looking nervous and confused.

Loretta Lynn was a full-fledged Trumper. Glad she won't be voting in the upcoming election.

Which is why maga culties turned on Swift R13. At first they held her up as a wholesome white, Aryan princess who played country. That's why they hate her guts now. They believe she's a traitor to 'Murica.

I think more country stars are having or crafting soft coming outs of sorts regarding their political leanings often without outright saying party affiliation or saying who they support.

Dolly knows how the culties can be and wants to preserve her legacy and though at her age and wealth you'd think she could tell them to fuck off.

Not 100% sure but I think Brad Paisley is a Democrat.

Kacey Musgraves, Maren Morris, Tyler Childers, Margo Price, Nick Shoulders, Gus Clark, Will Hoge, etc. etc.

She's not, she's just fully aware that a lot of her fans are. She's said she prefers to pray that Trump does the right thing rather than criticize him (or anybody else).

Dolly is way too happy with her gay fans to be a magat Dumper. She's emulated by drag queens. Hell, she is a drag queen.

r3 is right, but also Nashville and country music is like a mini-Hollywood or New York with the way their slice of the music industry works. Many of the stars of today come from poor or middle class backgrounds and are a dime a dozen in Nashville (as an example). Many of them have fucked or sucked their way into the front door of a music career. Many of the guys too have had to play some part of the game.
Sure, they will all claim some organic, salt to the Earth, story about their big breaks, but it's just like Hollywood down there. The music industry is notoriously shady.
So to their politics, I don't think many care beyond money. Oh, they do this for the love of music, bullshit, they want to be stars. This is why so many went even harder into pop once they saw how much bigger T-Swift became during her pop transition with "Red".
Are these people Trump supporters, well sure, they are still white, business owners of sort (owner of their own brand), and in the south. But many country artists are also more enlightened then their fans and may be economic conservatives over social conservatives. Now, there are many social conservatives but a lot of it is performative cause throw a check down and they will pounce like a thirsty cat.
