Rosemary & Thyme with Pam Ferris and Felicity Kendal
Darlings, have you ever watched Rosemary and Thyme with Pam Ferris and Felicity Kendal? It’s Murder, She Wrote meets Midsomer Murders with Martha Stewart thrown in.
Rosemary & Thyme is a British television cosy mystery thriller series starring Felicity Kendal and Pam Ferris as gardening detectives Rosemary Boxer and Laura Thyme. The show began on ITV in 2003. The third series ended in August 2007.
They solve murders while they restore rustic gardens of English country houses. It’s divine.

It’s a pretty bad show. I used to watch it for the landscaping but even that wasn’t great. I heard they had to move the show to Spain because the English weather was so bad they couldn’t do a lot of location shooting.
Felicity Kendall had a bad attitude throughout the show. I had the feeling she really disliked doing it,

I liked it but can't say I followed it closely, it wasn't as compelling as some other crime shows such as Morse, MSW, Poirot, Marple, A Touch Of Frost, Midsomer Murders

Is this the one where two lesbian gardeners show up and someone ends up dead?
I understand the British diet doesn’t provide brain food, but you think someone could sober up long enough to make the connection that when two people who know how to dig a hole show up and suddenly there’s a death, maybe the common denominator is the two gardeners and not who they’re trying to frame.

Pam Ferris a bit less bossy in this series than she was as queen bitch nun Sister Evangelina on Midwife.

More than once I laughed at murders that were supposed to be frightening. Its cheapness is part of its charm. Pairs well with "Pie in the Sky" and "Hetty Wainthropp Investigates."

The Coroner is such a bad cheap show that I thought it was Australian. I was wondering “Why are they so into pirate tourism in Australia?”

OP, my Mom enjoyed watching 'Rosemary & Thyme', and I watched a few episodes with her. I suppose it is like a British version of Cagney & Lacey -- a crime series where the 2 lead characters are smart women.
I thought it was okay. But as someone above said, it's not as compelling as Poirot, Marple or Midsomer Murders.

I've never seen where this was available to watch.
I only really know Pam Ferris as the bitch nun on Midwife. She was fabulous in that role.

It was pleasant, but not great. I kept waiting for Penelope Keith to guest star, but she never did.
