Heartstopper: Joe for lead role as prince in gay fairy tale animated musical?????

Ok first time posting a thread…. 😛 So I heard this from a buddy a few weeks back and thought I would share in the hope someone out there knows more (I thought it was amazing anyway lol sorry if you are not a fan). He is working an internship at an agency in LA and he came back home for the holidays. We met up for a drink and he knows I’m a Heartstopper fanboy so he told me this (I 100% trust him and have known him forever). He wasn’t working at an agency who represented Joe, he was working in an animation office, but he had to be in some meetings and he overheard this. I think its ok to post this and won’t get him in trouble because I found a link where they already low-key announced it in the Bookseller magazine ages ago. Anyway there is this gay fairy tale about two princes that is circulating over the last few weeks at all the major animation studios in Hollywood, based on a fairy tale called ‘the dog and the sailor’ that came out in the UK a few years ago, written by a gay artist who self published it. What makes it unusual is it is based on a real fairy tale from history that had been found by this guy in England in a book of fairy tales that was quite old. I couldn’t find a copy of it I don’t think it is in print anymore but I did find it in another book called “tales beyond the rainbow” which came out last year also in England but not here yet: it is a book of queer fairytales based on real fairytales that had lgbtqia characters and have been kinda deleted from history, I managed to get it from amazon Uk and it arrived today and I just read it. This story is AMAZING, it is so beautiful. My friend told me that the guy who is now producing it as a movie is the guy who discovered Gaga when he was a music intern at Sony, his name is Freddie Wexler and they are adapting it as an animated musical movie with different lgbtqia music acts involved, but apparently some really big names in music are now wanting to get in on it. This checks out because they say this is the producer in an article I found in the bookseller online and he has produced music for Bieber, Ariana Grande and some big names. I think the studios must include Disney animation because my friend said it was “all the major animation studios”. I looked up the book again today and a new version of the book is coming out in the UK according to UK Amazon on May 2nd with penguin random house. I also looked up the British guy who wrote the book (pete jordi woods) and he has the same agent as alice oseman, which kind of makes sense when my friend says that Joe (!) is their first choice for one of the princes. Also there is an Evil Princess witch character in it and they want Gaga to be her 😂. Didn’t Joe say he wanted to be a Disney prince? Has he been cast already??? Does anyone please know anything more about this movie and what’s going on???? My friend is now working in a different department and has no new information. Please say this is happening I cant find anything more about it????

Gentle OP, paragraphs are my friends.

Medication should be his friend.

I’ve asked someone in the know about this and it sounds legit R2.

How embarrassing

Please keep it to the main one. For the love of God, please.

To be fair to the OP the “main one” is just the same old shit every day: an endless psychological, stream-of-conscious profiling of whether some poor 20 year old may or may not be dating someone, like it’s anyone’s business but his, and how one of his costars who everyone seems to love to hate caused him to spiral into oblivion with said new guy in the first place. I landed on this thread because someone actually seemed to have some interesting HS gossip for a change regarding the careers of its stars. Personally I’d like to see where this goes. If it’s true, then it’s better than Bash Bashing…

If this is real I’m into it.

The book is definitely real R7 but it hasn’t been released yet. It does say it’s being “developed into a film”.
